I have been going here for several years. Great selection of tandoori and among other flavored chicken. fresh local lamb is also available and fresh local goat. The owner is very friendly. I also have had no problem getting custom cuts of meat, like nice thick lamb steaks, or fresh ground lamb.

Great spot for various flavours of marinated chicken to through on a grill. Reasonably priced, and would be 5 stars if organic.

I owe this place big time for at least one review LOL To begin my review with I love in North Van so yes it’s a bit drive to go there however believe me it’s so worth driving The fresh meat without the fancy price tag, I have a thing for chicken if it smells like poultry(please dnt laugh since people who know what I’m talking about they will understand) it’s a biggest turn off for me The only meat I can eat is from here, sometimes when I have more coins I go to GranvilleIsland or trader’ joe but still this is the best place to get your meat from– weather is marinated or fresh Their goat meat for curry and roast(whole leg) is to die for, reminds of my Delhi butchers where when u go they know you and ask you what you gonna cook and accordingly suggest you the cut of meats

I am most certain that if Blockbuster had offered a rainbow of deliciously marinated meats as an accompaniment to DVD rentals, they would still be in business… as proven by the success and popularity of Fraserview. This place confuses my brain because I don’t know if I am really hungry, jonesing for a movie, or perhaps both(probably both). Regardless, this place is THE place to go for marinated chicken/lamb/fish. I don’t know what anything is and I don’t want to know, because I like spinning the wheel and playing the game of meat-roulette; what will it be today? I DON’T KNOW, but it’s always delicious!

The chicken here is so good… anytime I bring it anywhere, it is always a hit(even with my brother who isn’t a fan of Indian cuisine). If you’re looking for a wide variety of marinades, than this isn’t the place for you, but if you’re looking for kick ass BBQ or Masala, you have found your new joint. Bonus — you can even rent a movie here to enjoy with your dinner! Fair prices for the quality of the meat that you’re getting(can feed 4 people for around $ 20). They also have fish and goat.

I have been coming here for close to 12 years and can’t believe the lack of Unilocal love for this place. Marinated meats and video rentals, how could you not love it. This is one of my summer BBQ secrets. Buy a few pounds of their chicken Tiki, put on well oiled grill and wait for the comments. As good as it smells cooking it tastes even better. Put a couple chicken thighs on a fresh bun, add fixing and you have a great backyard feast. I love BBQing their chicken wings as well. If you’re tired of Buffalo et al try these bad boys out. The tandori chicken breasts are yet another favorite, and not to forget their house special(yellow, with yogurt) family recipe. My friend makes the trip from Kits for their goat. The only thing I have had that wasn’t top notch was their tandori salmon, they used chum, bleh.

Really? No reviews? Have you NOT heard about this unique biz? I love this place. This is one of those places I keep as a Secret Supplier for when the summer barbecues happen and I have to bring something tasty. I’ll swing by and grab already-marinated tandoori chicken legs & wings, butter chicken, and other great marinated Indian meats at this Very Weird Meat Shop. Because I’m sure you’ve noticed it says«video» shop too. Half the shop is a video store, half is a butcher’s. Yep. We’re going Bollywood in the Punjab Market area, baby! The service is amusing. So stoic and serious. The prices are great — under $ 3 a pound for marinated thighs & wings. You can grab a Bollywood movie, stock up on awesome meats(including goat), run up to one of the other shops(like Himalayan) and grab your samosas and naan, and yer laughin’. Ignore the strange shop hybrid. Ignore the videos(I do). Just enjoy the meat. (Also, some of their other stuff, like halal whole fryer chickens, are often sold by lofty retailers like Stong’s, Whole Foods, and Granville Island’s Poultry Land, but are cheaper here.)
