I think the receptionist assumed I was Chinese (I’m not) and assigned me to a Chinese woman who barely spoke any comprehensible English and was dressed in sweats. She couldn’t explain anything I asked her and in the end came up with not a return but with the conclusion that I actually owe almost $ 300 (even though I make minimum wage and had tons of tuition credit). I eventually got my return when I filed with a different company. STAY AWAY!

It’s been one month since I emailed H&R Block Customer Service, describing my unpleasant experience. A rep called me, apologized, assured me they appreciated my repeat business, and promised to mail me a giftcard for a discounted visit next year.
One month later… no giftcard.
I’m disappointed to have given them a second chance and they dropped the ball again, but I’ll chalk it up to a «learning experience». Next year I’ll bring my business to an independent, local, experienced tax preparer instead.
