Hotel Le Soleil

Lovely hotel. The hubby and I went for a weekend in Vancouver and I found this hotel on Expedia. It is a beautiful hotel in a great location. The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms are charming. This will be our regular hotel when we go to Vancouver.

Late December and we ventured into the big city once again this time to enjoy the hustle & bustle of shoppers and to see all the xmas decorations and lights. The Soleil was part of a downtown Vancouver promo so we decided to revisit this wonderful boutique hotel. This time is was room 911 also a one bedroom suite however this time the HVAC system operated at normal levels which allowed for a peaceful uninterrupted overnight snooze!
This hotel is a definite must for any overnighting in town. It’s location is steps from the port; gizzillions of great food & beverage haunts; a grocery store and the huge Pacific Center shopping mall with the new Nordstrom’s now open and quite lovely!

Was in Vancouver for 3 nights. Check in was fast and efficient. Staff really friendly and accommodating. Décor/​suite furniture a bit dated but hotel overall provided everything we needed for a nice weekend getaway. Great location — Starbucks and Tim Horton’s coffee just a few steps away. Easy walk to Canada Place and Seawall. Several restaurants in the vicinity.
Housekeeping was awesome in replenishing toiletries and changing towels. Wifi was free, fast and reliable. I highly recommend this hotel and would not think twice about staying here again.

Clean, friendly, reasonably priced, free wifi, very comfortable beds, and a killer location in downtown Vancouver. Did I mention the cute little bar downstairs attached to the restaurant? Also, the rooms are more than decent sized, making for a very comfortable stay. Definitely worth it.

Great hotel and location, awful toilets. You can pretty much count on your toilet being clogged. We got two rooms and both toilets were clogged immediately.

Booked this hotel through Expedia and it looked good from my screen but I was still a little skeptical if this place was a gem or dump, but couldnt turn down the price for a last minute weekend trip.

So glad this place turned out wonderful!!! The hotel was a little hard for me to find at first but after driving the block 4 times, I found it. Nice entrance area/​lobby, staff was very friendly with the greetings and immediately helpful with valet, check-​in process and info about the hotel & city.
The corner room was very nice, pretty good views, Frenchy-​boutique like, comfy feeling, good sized, adjustable temp controls in living room and bedroom and no issues with wi-​fi neither. I like the hotel location, it’s a street or 2 away from all the retail madness so its quiet at night. Very walkable to pretty much everything. The hotel has a Indian restaurant connected but we didn’t try it out but it looked pretty popular.
Overall, the stay was great and would stay here again especially with location and the staff.

LOVED this hotel. Beautifully appointed; within walking distance of lots of cool stuff – including a pick-​up point for the hop on/​hop off bus which is a great way to see the entire city.

Stayed at the Le Soleil for one night before we boarded our cruise ship for Alaska. We arrived from the airport at 11:00 am, way ahead of the 4 pm check in. They were able to put us in a room almost right away. The concierge was very helpful and set us up with a tour of the city. All the staff was friendly. Enjoyed our stay.

When we travel to Vancouver, this is where we stay. Once we found this gem of a boutique hotel, we stopped looking at other options. Our most recent stay was last weekend (three nights, four days). We found a deal on their website for free valet parking if we booked directly through them. Thank You! Yes, what a deal — Vancouver parking is very expensive. You can walk anywhere from this central location… Robson, Sky Train station a block away, Yaletown, etc. We even walked down to catch the AquaBus to Granville Island. Worth it.
I see others had issues with their wifi. First, I guess we were lucky… we had no issues. Second, they were in the process of upgrading access points in each room! So they clearly listen to their guests.
Indian Fusion food being offered in the downstairs attached restaurant was not to our tastes, but the bar has whatever you might need to wind down from a day of exploring.

I have stayed at Hotel Le Soleil on business around 6 times now, with stays ranging up to 10 days. My family and I have also stayed here on pleasure, and we consider Le Soleil our «home away from home». This hotel is fantastic in just about every way. The location is within walking distance of just about everything downtown. I generally stay in a suite, and the rooms are very tastefully decorated, of moderate size, and very comfortable for longer stays. Each room is a little different as well, owing to the age of the building.
The staff here, however, really make the place. I see the same faces every time I come, they recognize me as well, and I have never once had an experience that was anything but positive with them. I genuinely *like* interacting with the staff here. They care, which is something lacking in a lot of places.
Kudos, Le Soleil. I’m here now, and I’m sure I’ll be back again. And unlike most of my business trips, I am looking forward to it.

We stayed here one night in a King room. We arrived about an hour before the official check-​in time, so we hung out in the cozy lobby. We didn’t get a room until 5pm, which was a bit disappointing, since we waited past the check-​in time, and it wasn’t until I asked about the status of our room, that it was magically ready. The room layout made the room feel smaller that it was, with a sitting room at the entrance the bathroom in the middle, and the bedroom, with the bed taking up the entire room. Even though it felt small, it was big enough for the two of us. It would probably be good if you had kids. Bonus points for a super comfortable bed. One odd thing was that the air conditioner was super loud, and came on every five minutes since it was pretty stuffy in the hotel. I guess they take the Le Soleil literally.
Overall, this place is a great value in a great location. Plus, they have valet parking, which is a must, and it is actually MUCH cheaper than most hotels in the area ($ 29). There aren’t a ton of restaurants within a block, BUT if you walk about four blocks, there’s a mall and tons of places to eat.

That’s how I’d describe Hotel Le Soleil.
When they say «classic French» design, they mean gold stripes around every single square inch of wall space.
There was often only one person staffing the desk, so I gave up trying to call down. And the wifi was atrocious. Most parts of our room would drop the signal for 30 minutes or more, even in non-​peak hours.
And while the staff we experienced were nice, they certainly didn’t get all of our details correctly. We reserved two rooms with two people each (e-​mail confirmation says so), but they said they didn’t have it in their system. One person ended up on a sofa bed and another initially had no towels.
Overall, it was a nice idea, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Nice lobby, that’s it. Service at the lobby was bad. Nobody knows what they are doing except for the valet guy named Max.

We spent a week in this hotel while we explored Vancouver and were very happy with our stay. The rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable, and the staff have been extremely helpful. And the hotel breakfast is lovely, with lots of choices of fresh hot food.
It is conveniently located right in downtown near the shuttle buses to capilano and whistler.
My only complaint is that the WiFi is rather intermittent and slow. But at least it is free.

The staff at Le Soleil are the best, most accommodating and pleasant hoteliers I have ever experienced. I travel on a somewhat frequent basis & have a few chances to experience hotel service each year. This is by far the best experience I can remember. I only wish that the bed was a little softer (suggest one of those foam mattress toppers) & more pillow choices.

Great location downtown. Hotel is quite quaint. I had stayed here several years ago and decided to return. Just as good as ever. Décor is very gold and rich. Rooms are furnished with all the amenities. Clean and cozy. Consistently great.

Great place to stay in the center of the city. The room itself was clean and spacious — great value; The staff our helpful and very friendly. European feel; warm and inviting. I will stay there always on my trips to Vancouver.

My boyfriend surprised me with a last minute trip to Vancouver for Valentine’s weekend. I wasn’t convinced he was going to find decent digs so last minute, but he did. This hotel has everything you’d want and is in walking distance to all the good stuff downtown. The décor is a little lavish in a palace of Versailles kind of way, but not tacky. Everything was extremely comfortable and I have zero complaints. The restaurant in the lobby is also really good and we were able to have a last minute romantic dinner there.
