I was happy to go here for both hair and waxing. I’m disappointed that they are now closed(or moved?) to another location. I would love to know where Judy and Bonnie are working to continue with them.

I had my haircut done by Bonnie. She was skilled and quick. I went in with medium length hair and came out with a pixie cut in under one hour. I was very happy with the end result and her pricing is very reasonable. Shampoo, cut and dry was under $ 30. There’s a few spots of free parking in the back otherwise meter parking is right on Broadway.

I never realized how much I appreciated a skillful bikini wax until I got an unskilled bikini wax while out of town. That was when I figured out I’m lucky to have a regular aesthetician who doesn’t suck at her job. Judy has been my go-to for almost three years. She gave me my first Brazilian. Always super chill and casual, with a great sense of humour(not in a teasing way at all — which I think is important when you’re dealing with people’s genitals) and very accommodating. She slipped me in after work on a discount wax day and was willing to go over the clock even as her shop was due to close and I wasn’t even paying full price. It was no big thang, but I still feel like it merits a mention. The shop itself is small and unremarkable, I suppose. It’s not some trendy little joint where they seat you on antique furniture and serve a beer while you wait. It’s not a gold dust covered wanna-be pomp spa. It’s a place to get your hair and nails done, and maybe rip some hair off your crotch, and it’s very true to itself. All good things from Impulse.

Judy is the most rocking manicurist I have ever met. Seriously, she’s funny, fabulous and knows what’s she doing. A friend suggested that I check out Impulse and that Judy would take care of me. I walked in without an appointment. Judy was able to squeeze me in between appointments. My hubby was next door at MEC and came over to pick me up. She invited him to have a sit in the massage chairs and the three of us ended up chit chatting until her next customer. Loved the experience and will definitely be back.

I’ve been going to Bonnie for years. She’s an awesome hairstylist and she always makes you feel super comfortable. She is really good at what she does and she always gives you an honest opinion of whether or not she thinks a particular look will suit you. She’s amazing!

Great little place, doesn’t seem like much from the street but they do amazingly good waxing and hair, very reasonable prices, and fun and easy atmosphere. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

Great haircut! Bonnie knows her stuff. My hair was thick and she really softened it out. Now it feels light and manageable! A great cut for summer. Thanks! I’ll be back!

I am so impressed with this place. There’s been a couple of times where I’ve gone in without notice and they’ve been accommodating despite having appointments back to back. I regularly get haircuts from here because it’s 30 $ and Bonnie knows her stuff, she’s an awesome stylist. I’ve been meaning to get my nails done from here and will try it out later and post.

Went for a mani-pedi a couple of weeks ago. Possibly the best mani I’ve ever had! I had an idea of what I wanted for artwork on my nails, & Annie did some tests on fake nails until it was established exactly what I had in mind. She’s a real artist — literally. She did ceramic art for 6 years so if you need anything ‘special’ painted on your nails, definitely go to her. The mani lasted a long time too & the pedi still looks perfect. They use OPI polish which is great stuff.
