The Adventure Travel Company is the adventure and experiential travel division of Travel CUTS and has been offering Canada’s largest selection of adventure travel for over ten years. History

Established in 1969.

The Adventure Travel Company was born out of Travel CUTS a little over ten years ago. A group of dedicated, adventurous employees wanted to promote and sell the type of travel that they loved to do themselves and were passionate about. Over the years our passion for this kind of travel has been contagious and it is the foundation for The Adventure Travel Company.

We believe in sharing our experiences, expertise and enthusiasm in adventure travel with as many people as we possibly can. We are committed to offering unbiased, experienced travel advice to people just like us. We are a culture of travellers who are passionate about the experience of travelling and the importance of immersing oneself in the country you are visiting to better learn to appreciate its people, cultures and wildlife.

Manager

Laura has visited 5 continents and over 40 countries. She joined Travel CUTS/​ATC in 1995 and has travelled by plane, train, automobile, bus, boat, elephant and more…

She lived and worked in Spain, the UK and Japan — she definately recommends the SWAP Working Holiday Program.

Laura now enjoys sharing her passion for travel with her family as they recently spent a month in China where her daughter got to cuddle a panda.

Adventures? Ask her about bungy jumping at Vic Falls, singing with children in a hilltribe village in Thailand and playing with iguanas in the ruins in Mexico.

I would’ve thought Travel Cuts got its name for the purpose of enticing their customers with cost-​savings or additional resources when planning vacations or trips.
Unfortunately, the only thing they really cut is my patience and bank account.
I purchased tickets with Delta through Travel Cuts a few months ago. Had to cancel it, received a credit for the cancellation but also a stipulation that I had to pay a $ 400 fare change fee (+ additional taxes) to use this credit.
That’s fine. My bad for cancelling the tickets. I’m okay with getting at least some of my original payment back — the tickets I bought were originally $ 800 + taxes and other fees to a total of $ 1300.
So when I contacted the travel agent and asked to use this credit… No point in giving the details of this trip, but if I check on Expedia/​Orbitz. or for goodness’ sake Air Canada, I can find this multi-​city flight for less than $ 750. The travel agent from Travel Cuts, on the other hand, told me I have to pay minimum $ 730 even with the credit I had on file. This means that $ 730-​$ 400 change fee = $ 300, $ 300 + $ 800 = $ 1100.
They are saying the trip is worth $ 1100 when there are booking mediums that offer $ 700.
I think I would’ve been able to accept this more if my travel agent offered more than a few vague terms for his explanation. «Fare increases since original purchase» «different taxes» … really.
I’m not sure if I’m disappointed in their service or just feeling incredulous. I am not recommending Travel Cuts to anyone out there for booking flights, since I can’t speak for their other services. Or, if you do book flights. better hope nothing goes wrong or any changes occur, ’cause you’re definitely not getting your money back
They should really consider a name change.

Our experience was extremely poor. The impression we drew was that we were being shoehorned into a customized tour that we didn’t want. When we asked for alternatives to what was being proposed, our sense was that no real effort was made to provide options. Our request for a break-​down for the individual cost of rooms and activities was avoided. It got worse. We were advised to book a particular hotel that was recommended to us. We asked for other options and provided the names of other hotels for her to contact. We were then told that these hotels were fully booked. We contacted the hotels directly and at least two had availability. This was the last straw. We walked away and booked everything ourselves. Try another agency/​agent or do it yourself.

I’ve been using Travel Cuts for a few years since a friend told me that Laura Main was the manager there. I had met her through him as he took care of her little girl. It was the best advice ever as Laura has proven to be so wonderful! I have had to book some complicated flights with either kids travelling alone or meeting up with people and she’s always makes it work and keeps it within our budget. Today I had to book two flights to Italy with one of use jaunting off to Germany which is fine if you have $ 3K per flight. If you’re working with half that amount it starts to get complicated so finally I said to my boss «You know, this is why I use a travel agent.» He conceded and I sent Laura what we needed and in no time flat she responded with the flights, options for trains while in Italy and car rental suggestions. I highly recommend Laura for all your travel needs.

I went to this Travel Cuts location to engage in the SWAP Program. My first time in I met with Tracy, who does all the SWAP program and also acts as a travel agent and she gave me a lot of really useful information and answered a lot of questions for me that had come up through my intial planning stage. I went back to apply for my Irish Visa and dealt with Tracy again, and again the experience was fantastic. I only had to go in a couple of times, once to put in the application, then next to pick up my passport with Visa in it and book my insurance, flight, etc… it was the easiest transaction, I had researched a lot and I got way better prices than I would have otherwise. Tracy even stayed in touch and emailed me once I had arrive just to check in and see how I was settling. I dealt with her again to re-​arrange my return date (I had just picked a random date as she got me an open ended return ticket but I needed to have a return date), and it was super easy, just emailed her and she forwarded me everything I needed once she did it for me.
I now usually book my own travel as its not as complex, but I would definately go in there again if I needed travel agent assistance!
