Just Waffles

Super friendly service as soon as we walked through the doors. The owner was very helpful in giving us a run down of the menu. Their waffles are just amazing, nothing like i had before. Their waffles are different, being a bread-​like batter and with pearl sugar making it unique. I had the Nutella waffle (which is filled with Nutella inside) with Vanilla bean ice cream and blueberries. Even my critique of a brother kept saying how good it was. Definitely going to become a regular here, highly recommenced!

Updating my review as this is my 50^th visit here, obviously I think it’s a great place to frequent and enjoy the many yummy waffles and friendly fun owners, please come and check it out here if your ever in the neighbourhood!

Yup. Delicious. Cozy spot. Super nice people. Can feel their passion for their waffles and what they do, which I appreciate. I will be back, many times.

It’d be tough to overstate how satisfied I was walking out of this place. Incredibly tasty waffles, both sweet and savory selections, and its run by a very lovely couple who clearly love what they do and love their business. I’ll be back as often as I can.

Toutes sortes de gaufres, sucrées, salées.
Pour ma part, j’ai testé la gaufre nutella et je n’ai pas été déçue! ça aurait pu être écoeurant mas pas du tout, ça se mange bien et toutes les quantités (chocolat, fruits, chantilly) sont bien proportionnées.
Je recommande vivement cet endroit, mais attention fermé le lundi!!!

Great tasting waffles and really friendly couple running the place. If you love talking to locals and getting chatty with people this is the place for you. Minimal wait time as this place is relatively new but gaining popularity. They just expanded their menu to include waffle cones & ice-​cream.
Everytime I have a waffle craving, I head out there with an intention to try out something new and different. But their nutella waffle just pulls me in. Really fresh, caramelized sugar coating, slightly crisp on the outside, with nutella filling on the inside.

Really good hand made waffles! Both savory and sweet! Really delicious you should definitely come here and try it yourself.

Umm this place is delicious. I had the maple bacon and egg waffle, hubby had the double eggs Benny, and we shared a Nutella special. We both wolfed it down. The maple goes so well with the bacon, just the right amount of sweet and savoury. If you prefer runny/​soft/​medium eggs make sure you specify. If you are an eggs Benny snob please note the hollandaise sauce is average. The Nutella special had strawberries, banana, cinnamon, whip cream, and I think a bit of syrup. So effing good.

It’s my first time visit this place. Suddenly craving for pizza and waffle. Found this place by Unilocal nearby, order one bruschetta +asiago cheese with juicy tomato, we also order a nutella waffle with slice banana, this leige belgian waffle its totally diff then the one i used to try, the waffle its actually make by nutella. Not too sweet, its just right…

Just Waffles is a great little spot and the name entails exactly what it is… Just Waffles. The waffles are delicious and close to everything is priced under $ 10. I had their Sweet BBQ Pulled Pork Pizza Waffle. It was very tasty and the proportion of pork to waffle was just right… a great complement. Drinks are only $ 2, a plus. The only thing holding it back is its lack of a great atmosphere and missing wall décor. Overall, stop by this place… you can get it «to go» as well!

A definite must-​try for waffle lovers!
This place is an adorable husband and wife owned small business. The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming. Their waffles are absolutely delicious, especially the traditional mixed fruit waffle which is wonderfully caramelized and well presented.
If you want to try something different, go for the pepperoni pizza waffle. Just as good as the sweet waffles. If this place sticks around, which I hope it will, I think it will just keep getting better and better.

Went here «late night» (8pm) with the kids, hubby and friends and had the waffles. The waffles were delicious.
We had Nutella, pulled pork and traditional.
Service was great, they explained to us how the waffles were made and ingredients and made suggestions on which ones to choose.
The waffles were really filling– not like the air filled ones you get at other restaurants– simply put you can get full eating one of these things.
The space for seats is minimal– so you might want to try takeout.

I stopped by to try the waffles again and the menu has changed since my last visit. Now it is 3 mini waffles for $ 5 or $ 2 each, $ 5 for a plain waffle or $ 8 pizza/​bennies waffles. There are other toppings you can choose from at an extra cost. Prices include tax.
The pepperoni and cheese waffle was great. Super loaded with pepperoni and cheese! I also tried the maple flavoured waffle. I was given the choice for it to be toasted, microwaved or served as is. The maple flavour was faint. I think it would have been better if there was the option to make waffles fresh to order. If you have tried other waffle places (ie Nero), there is a big difference in the flavour experience.
Service was great. Staff brought the pizza waffle and cutlery over to the table I was sitting in.

I’ve been to this start-​up Waffle Joint a total of 2 times so I will review based on both experiences.
I am a big Waffle person so this was a must try. The actual waffle itself was done alright but I prefer mine a tad crispier and the pearl sugar is supposed to shock my tongue. That said, they do a well enough job and there are no other waffle joints in close proximity that delivers anything close. For that, kudos to them. Oh, and the owners are super nice people who really take pride in their product. I wish them the best of luck with this business.
The Savoury — I“ve tried the Sweet BBQ Pulled Pork with Swiss Cheese. This one was a surprise winner. The BBQ sauce delivers just the right amount of sweet with a slight tang. Perfect for ribs & now, I must say with waffles. If they ever get their liquor license, would go well with beer. :)
Eggs Benny Waffle — For the price point, this one justifies the best bang for your buck. As you are eating this waffle, the bits of sugar from the waffle come through very nicely and a perfect compliment to the Hollandaise Sauce which they do not scrimp on.
Fresh Fruit Liege with Whipped Cream — Standard fresh fruit (strawberries, bananas & blueberries). Small shop so I understand not venturing too far out of the box but would have been nice to see some exotic fruits in the mix. Perhaps, it will have be a special customized one. Next time, I’ll definitely ask for less of the Whipped.
The ice cream you can get with your waffles is a great Vanilla where I can taste the vanilla bean. Definitely not the cheap stuff.
If you enjoy your waffles, this is definitely a place to try out. Not an absolute gem for me but for concept, and area, this one is a must try.
Cons: small space, makes coming in with big groups problematic, and price is a bit more $$ than advertised but:
Pros: Food is good enough to return for, servers are passionate about their product which makes you feel like your opinion matters and they’ve introduced a concept called Savoury Waffles to Vancouver. I“m excited to see how they fare when some of the edges are ironed out.

Oh man, I don’t want this to end. I thought to myself, half way through the waffle. Then I picked the scrumptious waffle, and spectated closely.
little dots of vanilla bean revealed as I pulled the perfectly chewy waffle apart, the crystallized sugar glistened, then the aroma and flavours, all together brought me endless joy.
5 stars because Mr Calvin Klein & his wife Kathy take pride in their artistry, and they are just good people, that make good waffles.

Great Mom and Pop shop. The customer service is outstanding. The owners are so sweet and helpful. They really know their waffles!
The liege waffles that they sell are nice and soft just how I like it. It’s like having a fresh donut but better. I’ve had liege waffles before and didn’t like them because they ended up being hard, but these ones are winners. I love how they put different ingredients in the batter as they make them.
My co-​worker and I came here to grab something for lunch… but also I’ve been meaning to stop in since we work so close to it. I had the eggs benny waffle, it was so good. My co-​worker had the bruschetta also very good. As we were leaving the owners gave us three free waffles to share with our other co-​workers so they could also try them (Maple, Nutella and Strawberry). I’m assuming they did this to try and get more business since we work so close, but I love the idea. Why not right?! Get people to try the product your selling especially if they work and live in the neighborhood. If they like it they will tell other people to visit. Word of mouth is the best advertisement.

Keeping with the whole Waffles are the new cupcakes trend… here is another waffle place on my radar. I heard about this place ’cause someone posted a review back in November of 2013 and book marked it since.
There are tons of flavor options for the waffles. Additional toppings are a $ 1 each which makes your waffle give or take = $ 5 tax included.
The place is clean but not inviting to stay. Would appreciate a little cozier atmosphere. The orange is a bit hard on the eyes, however, that is just me.
The customer service couldn’t get any better. The lady working there cared and ensured that everything was okay and it was made with love.
The waffle itself was like eating a warm fluffy cloud. The texture somewhat resembled that of a croissant.
I had the Nutella waffle. The Nutella to waffle ratio was just perfect. The Nutella nicely hugged the waffle.

Just Waffles is relatively new to the neighbourhood but is a great addition! The owners are lovely (not to mention you can meet the friendly and chatty Calvin Klein) ;) They opened in the summertime and I really want to see them succeed!
My visits have been on Sunday afternoons and if you go close to closing time they sometimes have a 2-​for-​1 offer on the remaining waffles! So ladies and gents, if you’re on Hastings (just west of Kootenay Loop) on your way home from work/​school pop in and grab a treat! If you need a parking spot for a few minutes use the Chinese restaurant lot!
My favorite is the brownie waffle, then the cinnamon. The liege waffle is a dessert waffle and is dense, filling and really is a sweet treat! The waffles taste great heated up a bit so I sometimes just take them home but I think they’ll do it for you if you ask nicely!
I’ve ordered 50 (diff flavors) and had them cut in half for a work function (and were a hit!) and was a great change from the usual donuts and timbits… but they have since started making smaller sized ones which are a great option!
I agree with Brittany’s tip. Right now it’s a take out type atmosphere but if the Klein’s cozied up the place and really made it their own it would make it feel more inviting, ppl may stay, grab a coffee and take another waffle to go! :) The more you have people sitting/​lining up in your store/​window it will piqué passerby interest and my thought is that it would also increase business!
I also want to note that there are a few steps that make it not so accessible, but if you are not able to go down the stairs (eg. wheelchair or stroller) wave at them from the window and they will come out and give you a sample… if they aren’t too busy and even bring you waffles! Great service! Please give Just Waffles a try!

My boyfriend, who appreciates a good donut, is a big fan of this spot. Liege waffles are a little to sweet for my liking, but I join him for the ride over.
