Wonderful Chinese restaurant with a bright dining area, friend and quick service, and free parking(but the parking lot gets busy really quickly… good thing the sides streets all have free parking!) The restaurant itself isn’t that big but they fit a lot of tables inside. The setup is great as they have smaller tables near the wall and the larger round table for large groups in the middle. It’s wonderful if you need to seat up to 12 people. They have a round table big enough to accommodate. The food is lovely too. They have many set dinner meals with is great value if you are dining with a large group. I recommended the family style dining menu so everyone can try something different. Ive tried many of their dishes and they are all very tasty and come out piping hot. Bring your friends and try it out! They also have tanks with live seafood if that’s your thing! Tip: I believe they are cash only.

I come here everytime my family wants to eat typical Chinese food. My first impression of the place was that it was small and crowded but looked ok. The service is nicer then other Chinese places and the owner actually seems happy cares about the customers. The food is pretty good and comes fast too.

Surprisingly good! I came here for late night eats and was pleasantly surprised. You don’t find many of these late night haunts offering live seafood, spicy fried smelt, deep fried wings and other greasey beer accompaniments any more. Granted, it is in a shadier part of town that late at night(I know, I had the pleasure of waiting for my husband to pick me up that night), and the crowd inside aren’t a whole lot better, but this is as real and as good as it gets — razor clams, peppery clams, garlicky chicken wings, steamed vermicelli scallop, wok fried veggies and a plethora of mystery items(try making out the posted items on the wall! There’s one whole section dedicated to innards.) Parking is limited and it can get busy, but it’s worth it. Cash only.

Nice little Hong Kong style Café with seafood and other large restaurant style dishes. They have a late night menu that offers up some pretty good deals across the board on noodles, rice and seafood. They have a hot pot dish that seems pretty popular as well.

Let me start by saying that it was VERYLOUD when we went for dinner. A table full of old drunk deaf people sitting near us. It looks kind of dumpy when you first walk in. We had stir fried clams, some Chinese veges, soup of the day, fresh fish, sweet & sour pork, and some other dishes that I’m not entirely sure of. Clams, soup and pork were my favourite. Very tasty food. I was always put off about going here because the menus on the wall are all written in Chinese and I don’t read Chinese. You must ask or bring someone that knows how to read Chinese to get good food. I tend to like to look at tables to see what others are eating and point. The waitress was super-nice and very accomodating. Our tea cups were always full. The myth is true, the nicer the restaurant, the more likely the food is not good, so the aesthetics is to camaflouge the horrible food. The more of a dump of a place, the better the food. I can say that the food was very good despite the décor.

Swimming fresh seafood, steaming hot dishes from the kitchen and friendly service. Their late night menu(tapas style, also available at dinner time when they are not too busy) has over 170 items, and I intend to try all of them! So far the ‘golden sand prawns’(prawns coated with salted egg yolk and stir fried) and black bean clams were a hit — these were big juicy clams, not the tiny shrunken ones you usually get in chowder. They also have excellent value set dinners where you can pick 2, 3, 4 dishes etc. and they throw in a soup and appetizers, like fried pepper tofu or spicy jellyfish and a dessert. Used to be a bit of a hole in the wall a few years back when I first went, but they have since renovated, and judging by their packed parking lot every night they must be doing something right.

Reminds me of childhood in HK where we use to eat at street stalls, different stalls specialize in different dishes. Let me remind you it’s a hole in the wall though they have renovated to more comfortable seating. Chinese tapas at a very very reasonable price. Cash only. Good picks: Seafood like stir fried clams Cheap beer Fried garlic and salt silver fish

I love coming here and now I’m giving away my secret hang out joint. I’m sure a few people have been here before and probably thinks it sucks. Ok let me ask you something… did you order off the menu or the specials written in Chinese on the wall? I’ll be honest and the stuff on the regular menu really isn’t that good, however the specials are awesome. So convince a someone that can read Chinese to go with you to this joint and also be prepared to eat stuff like shrimp paste, intestines, and fermented bean curd cause that’s their specialty. Every time I come here, I pretty much get the same dishes and I’l try to describe them the best I can cause I don’t think these are on the menu. Stir fried intestines with chilies & tea leaves: a spicy mothersucker, but soooo good. You can order it any style you like or ask them for suggestions. The tea leaves are not edible, but to infuse flavour in the dish only. Steamed Scallops with vermicelli and garlic. 1 order is 2 halves of a scallop and served on the shells. Steamed with the vermicelli and a large spoon of garlic on top. Hope you don’t don’t have a date after cause… lol They also serve the parts of the scallop commonly not served, the roe and the membrane with the muscle. Potato leaf with shrimp paste. This dish is comprised of the top of the potato leaves and stir fried with shrimp paste. The tops have crunch stalks and almost taste like most other green leafy vegetable. Some people aren’t too fond of shrimp paste, but if you do plan to get this ask for more shrimp paste! Don’t like don’t buy! My fave thing here is the Fish & Tofu hotpot. Fried white fish and tofu with cilantro in a simmering hot pot. Sooooo goood! This is just to name a few of the dishes I’ve tried here. The fondues are popular here, but I’m personally not a fan of the lamb one. If you don’t know what to get, you can always ask the server for suggestions. I would ask the taller lady wearing glasses cause I think she’s the owner and she only speak Chinese(Cantonese so far I’ve notice). The place is pretty runned down and pretty grungy and not a great place for a fancy meal. If you want cheap food, cheap beers($ 3 a bottle, used to be $ 2.50), and catch the game, great place!
