Mac In the Bay

I love love the waterproof eyeliner — I can bawl my eyes out and it stays in place! Haha just kidding. Sort of… Seriously this stuff is great — same with the rest of their stuff, it’s just very good quality. I really prefer this location over the Robson Street location because you can actually talk to a sales rep here. Robson Street is always a madhouse and the lineup system (or lack of one) is kinda confusing.
The salespeople here are always friendly and they know their stuff!

Had great service today. The girl was polite, attentive and super helpful. I wish I’d gotten her name. Pretty Asian girl. Dark lip stick. And a copper colour on the mid to ends of her hair. Said her mom was a hairdresser.

Had a really great experience here a couple years ago that I will never forget and that makes me want to shop at this location when I do my once a year splurge at Mac.
The guy working there approached me with this amazing, vibrant, and positive personality, and immediately started complimenting and pointing out the parts of my face, hair, and fashion that he admired, and I could tell that he was being 100% genuine (or he was a REALLY good actor). He asked me what I was looking for, then immediately showed me the colours, tones, and products that worked best with my face, skin type, and skin/​eye/​hair colour, personal style, and personality. He told me where I could find the best deals, and what products are worth splurging on in Mac and which products I should «just honestly go to a drugstore for». Although most Mac managers and staff would not appreciate this, his honesty and kind character made me spend more than I was planning on and willing to, just based on the great information he gave me, and his genuine personality.
I’ve never had a bad experience at this location since, though I do think that Mac in general is over rated and over priced. But, I’ve always had a good experience with staff in every store I’ve been to, from Granville Street, to Robson Street, to Los Angeles, to Las Vegas. The MUA’s are always very professional and bubbly, which is what keeps me coming back for more.

I love MAC. Today was my first time in this Location. I had to get foundation, foundation brush and a concealer. The lady that helped me was wonderful and a sweet heart.

The worst customer service. The staff is not very helpful and not very welcoming. Literally the staff rather gossip amongst themselves than actually help a customer.

I love my mac make-​up, however, I will be honest, I only come here to browse. My friend has a Mac Pro discount (she lets me use) which doesn’t apply here. You get way more color options at the Pro store on Robson.
I am bold and I like my colors as such and I find that beyond the basics (with a few exceptions), there is nothing that really screams my personality. The pro brushes, although appreciated in quality, can be sought elsewhere for cheaper.
I appreciate that there is a Mac line in The Bay, however, with the Pro store honoring the discount and more selection I see this store more or less as eye candy.
Every time I’ve gone in I’ve found the staff helpful. Pushy but helpful. I don’t hide the fact that I am browsing and I have more intention of going to the Pro store, however, their determination is both admired and annoyed at times. I say this not to be rude but so that they can focus their time on energy on another customer that really needs it.

I have never actually purchased anything here.
This is because they don’t take my Mac Pro card (which saves me 40%) so I always go to the Robson street location.
I sometimes stop in to check new product arrivals if I am at The Bay.
It is a nice large space on the south west corner.
The girls who work here are overly aggressive (prob due to the fact they are given a sales quota, and they are just one of many cosmetic brands at The Bay)
I always tell them I am just checking things out– but they are relentless. This makes me very uncomfortable, and I do end up leaving.
I guess I will just stick to the Robson location where I always make a purchase.

I don´t really know much about make up but I wanted some sort of base for my face and decided that mac seemed like a good idea.
I was there for 10 minutes before someone asked me if I needed help even though I´m sure I looked in dire need of help.
When someone finally asked me if I needed something I told her that I was looking for something light weight, not noticeable and that I didn´t mind if it didn´t cover every single mark on my face.
After looking at a few (which were nothing like I wanted, they were heavy and thick) I remembered that a friend had recommended tinted moisturizer and asked her if they had something like that.
Once I tried it on I liked how it looked but thought it was a bit orange compared to my neck colour, I told her this and she said that it was probably the light and that I should check my self out at another mirror, I did and to me it still looked the same orange but I just thought that the light in the store sucked and that I was probably being really picky.
I bought it, and when I got home and checked my self out again in the mirror sure enough I was orange. I asked my family members and they said that I did in fact look orange.
She ended up giving me a medium tone when I should have needed a light.
Oh well, it´s not the end of the world and I´m probably going back to exchange it but as someone who was buying for the first time I would´ve liked a bit more knowledge from her part about what would work for me based on what I told her and maybe a smile or two.

I’m a huge Fan of this location as they have the warmest and most amazing staff! In the last three months I have visited three separate MAC locations. Metrotown, The Bay and The Airport and this one, by far, has the most appealing layout. The day I visited they had two guest MUA’s from the Robson Store who did my make up. I looked amazing :)

I don’t shop at MAC, however my sister made me get her concealer since I was in The Bay. The woman who helped me was friendly. But when I asked for a sample of something (for my sister), the woman said that they didn’t have any sample jars left. Isn’t that like a restaurant not having napkins… How do you expect a person to buy your product when they don’t even know what they’re buying!
Also why do MAC employees wear everything they sell on their faces? :-D
Another note, I was walking by the outside one evening, and I saw a homeless man staring at the MAC employee’s ass… it was funny, it went on for a while.

I was already in Pacific Center, so I figured I would just stop into MAC and pick up some moisturizer before the treck home. I hadn’t been into this location since they renovated it and I have to admit, it seems a lot smaller and a lot more cramped than before. I was able to navigate my way through the store to find what I was looking for though. No one helped me, however when I go into MAC I usually know exactly what I am looking for, so I don’t mind if the staff are too busy with other customers since I just want to get in and out of there painlessly.
I was standing in line with two other ladies in front of me, so I pulled out my phone (so I could check in on Unilocal!) but couldn’t find this location. As the lady in front of me finished up I was just about to put my goods on the counter when the cashier left and another cashier came up and tried to ring through someone else that she had been helping in the store. So basically, she was letting someone else jump in front of me when I had been waiting patiently. «I’ll just ring her through quickly» she said to me… WTF? I’m pretty sure the expression on my face was clear enough that the first cashier came back to the second till so she could ring me through. All I could say was «wow». I could not believe how ridiculously blatantly rude she was! Did you not see me standing here? Am I fucking invisible? I was pretty close to just walking away and going to the Robson location and buying my stuff there since I KNOW they will treat me with respect, but I didn’t feel like being that dramatic today.
I have been a very loyal MAC customer for 10+ years, the only product I don’t buy from them is mascara, I just don’t like how clumpy theirs is, but other than that, 100% of my daily makeup is from MAC. I usually shop at the Robson location and the staff there have always been super friendly and helpful, and they take down my sales for my customer profile and recommend products and ask me if I know about upcoming events/​the recycling program, even though they know I know. I had about ZERO customer service today at the Granville location, and I think in the future I will continue to shop at the Robson store. Honestly though, if I was a first time customer, I wouldn’t have even bothered coming back. Time to educate your staff in customer service people!
