They’ve uped their game and have amazingly fresh sashimi and sushi with a killer bento box and salmon teriyaki! Def worth checking out and great value for money

This was very disappointing. Ordered a bento lunch box. Salad had to be sent back. It had lettuce which was beyond wilted. The one piece of shrimp in the sunomono salad was not fresh. The food arrived cold and had to be sent back. There was a smell of gas where we were seated. I will not return.

Food is generally served fast. Service isn’t the best(friendly but not well trained). For the price the bento boxes are quite worth it. Good spot for lunch

It’s always a Wonderful dining experience at Momo! The location is super convenient as it’s just by the metro. The food is also high quality with incredible portions and very affordable prices. It’s rare to find restaurants that can do all 3 but Momo is the rare exception! The chicken teriyaki don is fantastic value for the money and very tasty. Special rolls like Double Spicy roll and Red Dragon Roll are consistently impressive too. Bento boxes provide everything you need for under $ 10 and are perfect for fulfilling your sushi cravings.

I love eating nigiri at Momo. They are fresh and delicious at cheap prices. I also love their Double spicy roll, Red dragon roll, and Beef udon. You can never go wrong at Momo!

Sorry, I really hate leaving one star reviews but nothing about this place was good. It was relatively busy but that is no excuse for the experience I had. After we were sat, it was about 15 – 20 minutes and still no one has even asked about drinks. I finally flagged down a man who, based upon his dress, looked like maybe a manager. He called the nearest girl to take our order. Another 30 minutes go by and finally my sushi arrives. My friend still had nothing. I take my first bite of salmon sashimi and it’s frozen! Frozen! Whoever sliced that piece of fish in the kitchen surely must have felt that it was frozen. And hello, sushi is supposed to be fresh, raw fish. I would advise you keep walking past Momo in Gastown if you’re looking for sushi.

My favorite sushi place BYFAR!!! I cant believe how much stuff is in a 3.95 roll… lunch is always packed, even have to wait in line to pay, recently me and my coworkers have been ordering around11:40am, cut down the wait time for sure…

Aside from the«Jesus loves you» all over the menu and chopsticks, which I personally found a bit much, the sushi is relatively good. Had a chance to glimpse at the kitchen though and it looked a mess. Not very appetizing at all. Also the bathroom sink is rusting which makes me feel a bit untrusting, especially when dealing with raw fish. The miso soup was sodium packed. The sushi itself wasn’t bad though. Recommend the rainbow role. 3 stars is generous.

This definitely isn’t gourmet Japanese fare, but such a low price point, Momo’s become a staple for my friends and I when we are in the Gastown area! My favourite is the Chicken Teriyaki don! They deep fry their chicken before cooking it with the sauce, which is slightly different from the traditional grilled approach. Also I find that for the price you pay($ 7) you get a lot of meat in your bowl when compared to other low-cost sushi bars! Great idea for lunch if you work in the area!

This is a very 3 stars place due to the quality of food. I like a lot beef teriyaki don and this place doesn’t have a good one. Not tasty and not enough sauce. My 2 friends that were with me also would rate the food as 3 stars. Depending on what you order(even lunch specials), it can be pricey comparing with some good options in Yaletown and it’s not worth it. Staff was friendly and location is easy if you don’t have to park your car.

PROS + Generous portion + Sashimi quality is pretty good considering its cheap prices + Great combo and bento box selection + Food comes pretty fast + Good for quick bites CONS — Not for ambience — The sushi rice is not the greatest quality RATING Food 3.0÷5.0 Ambience 2.0÷5.0 Service 2.5÷5.0 Price $ I’ve been to Momo Sushi(on 375 Water Street) many times when I had classes in downtown, but never reviewed on it since my food selection was very limited. I always had salmon sashimi and chirashi don only. A few days ago I tried something else other than chirashi don so decided to write a short review on it(Although I still had salmon sashimi). SALMONSASHIMI($ 9.95) and CALIFORNIAROLL. I already had lunch that day, so I ordered something I considered«light.» The sashimi was not the best quality but it was still better than the most of small-sized Japanese take-out places. Last semester, I had a CHIRASHIDON($ 10.50) for my lunch almost every Tuesday. Trust me, you won’t regret getting this dish. For 10 bucks, you won’t have this kind of quality chirashi don in Gastown. It consisted of salmon(2pcs), tuna(2pcs), tamago(2pc), toro(1pc), sockeye salmon(1pc), hokkigai(1pc), ebi(1pc), tai(1pc), tako(1pc), chopped scallop, spicy tuna, and seaweed salad with tobiko. It’s the same chirashi don except I substituted tuna for salmon. This is the latest lunch I had on Monday. I went there around 2:30 pm when the place was not crowded. I could tell they took care in presentation better than the last time. SALMONSASHIMI($ 9.95) was cut in thick pieces and served on a bed of ice. They also gave some seaweed salad on the side. As I needed some carbs I ordered a DOUBLESPICYROLL($ 5.95) and TORONIGIRISUSHI($ 2/each). The roll consisted of cucumber, avocado, spicy salmon inside and topped with spicy crab meat, tempura bits, onion, wasabi mayo and unagi sauce. They let you choose either spicy salmon or spicy tuna. It was pretty decent for the price. Not at all stingy on the portion and great quality food. Momo Sushi is a great place to have quick bites during lunch time as their food comes fast and its generous portion satisfies your hunger.

Momo sushi consistently delivers a great sushi lunch experience. I usually get the dynamite combo box. The food is fresh, fast, and reasonably priced. I definitely recommend visiting momo if you are wondering what to do for lunch.

Great cheap sushi. The hilarious menu using watermarked stock photos in the wrong ratio and the confused 50’s diner décor are a bonus. Love it.

Thought we found a great deal until there was a bandage in our California roll. The store was annoyed that we brought it up even. We were disgusted and furious that they didn’t even care. My wife ate that sushi and found a used bandage in it! Scared for life

For the price, the sushi here was really good. Definitely not the best sushi experience I have ever had(and this was my first Vancouver sushi experience), but overall, I was satisfied. The fish tasted fresh and service was prompt. I really liked the salmon and avocado roll best.

Vancouver is known for cheap fresh sushi and Momos definitely fit the bill. The spicy combo is a steal. Love their spicy chopped scallop but tuna doesn’t have much flavour. Their takoyaki was ok but not the best I had. But it’s my go to place when I’m too lazy to hit sushi mart on the other side of town which is my fav! Momo is good for the price. It’s not the most authentic(its employees are Korean), but it’s solid. We got takeout bento boxes and combinations. Be warned, the salad dressing isn’t good. The sushi combinations are good, what you would expect for a lunch.

Momo is in a convenient location, and it seems to always be busy! This is a sushi place for business eaters. This isn’t a restaurant to take your time, and get a fancy experience. This is for someone craving some sushi and gettin’ it done quickly. The quality is decent, and the atmosphere is busy, it is a fun way to have some lunch and get a sushi fix.

I had take out from here today since I work so close by and I found the speed and service very quick and efficient. I called at around 12:15 to place my order, and arrived at the restaurant around 12:20. I paid and got my food and got back to the office within 12 minutes! Anyways, you get a lot of packaging here so if you’re an environmentalist, you might want to eat in.(You get a huge styrofoam box with a plastic container of sunomono and another container of miso soup) Everything was fairly decent but not amazing. The price I paid($ 8 or so after tax) was amazing considering the nice location in gastown right on Water street! The best part of the meal for me was the crispy chicken teriyaki, which was a nice twist on the traditional soft sweet chicken dish. My gyoza wasn’t very good and the california rolls were just okay, but I enjoyed the tempura(I love Kabocha squash) and the salad dressing was nice. I would definitely come back for take out since it’s the closest sushi place to my office and the prices are definitely reasonable.
