Surprised tonsee negative comments. Frequent this place for their chicken donair. It is the best donair and a great price. Although I do often see signs for specials on the way out, that didn’t apply… maybe it is different timing? Really like the owner here as well, always very friendly and nice.

Its a great place to eat. The products are simply amazing and the owner very friendly. Its true that it takes time to process the food but because everything is organic they meed to make it from scratch.

He asked if I wanted my chicken donair to be spicy. I said yes however it simply had flavour; not sure if that’s what he meant by spicy. I was in a rush & not feeling so well so I’m going to have to revisit this place to review it properly.

One star taken off for slowness. I had stopped going there because I couldn’t stand waiting so long, although they have interesting radical newspapers to read so if you aren’t in a rush that’s a nice option. Now I call ahead 30 minutes, the order is always ready on arrival(or shortly after). The reason I gave them another chance and started calling ahead is because of the quality of the meats and food. I especially like the lamb ghormeh dish, a nice stew on a bed of rice with salad, plenty of lamb chunks, costing around 9 $. Good deal for these inflationary times where it seems like every new restaurant is charging 12+ for a meal and not even organic meat. Just call ahead and everything will be gravy…

I’m sad to report that I’m done giving this place any more chances. I always found the wait a bit much. I’ve gone in there when no one else is there and still had to wait! But this last time was too much. We advance ordered a rotisserie chicken which to my understanding from their online and print menu would include a couple of sides. Instead he just handed me the chicken and when I enquired about the sides he said no that’s for a different kind of order. I don’t understand how since it was exactly the same listed price. And the chicken itself was only warm-ish — not the piping hot I expect meat to safely be — and it was so dry! Between the bait and switch and poor quality I am done with these guys. Too bad cuz the elder guy seems nice and I’d like to be able to support them.

More misses than hits. I’ve bought raw chicken, a couple of whole roasted chickens, and tried lunch once. Prices are high, quality is sketchy. Tonight I bought a roast chicken to take home and was shocked when I found the skin scorched on the outside, and the meat mostly raw on the inside at the bones. It stank of soy. After carving up and looking to see if it was just normal colouring, I threw it away. Lunch takes at least 20 min. I think I’ve given them a good chance, and have been charged pretty pennies for any product other than the cheapie lunch specials. Unimpressed.

As others have said the donairs here are quite good. Usually I would go for a Buffalo Donair and over the span of a year I have been a somewhat frequent customer. As far as the donairs are concerned with the exception of one occasion they are always stuffed and very tasty with a generous helping of whichever meat you order. I have yet to try anything else off of their menu with the exception of the rotisserie chicken though. The older man who owns/runs the place and the younger middle aged man who usually works the grill are extremely nice and have always been polite to me. They sell Maple Hill brand meats which are local as well as free range chicken. In the past I have called to inquire about thier hours of operation as well as when they take the chicken off the rotisserie and was told that some chicken had recently came out of the oven and that it by giving my name and number that it could be put aside for me. Overall, I have never been disatisfied with this establishment. As others have said though it can take some time for you to get your food. After the first two times of this happening I in future always planned ahead to make sure I could catch my bus/have time to make appointments. TL;DR The donairs are great, wait times can be long though

First off I love their burritos $ 4.99 for the special with a pop. If you want a bigger burrito its $ 6.00. They are fresh, very tasty and organic. They take their time but that’s because they want to give you good food they make it in front of you basically. I recommend this place but if you aren’t patient don’t bother. Waiting time is about 20 – 30 mins. Its worth trying and the guy might like to joke around sometimes so don’t get offended.

I’ve gravitated towards the mediterranean and afghan flavors of the menu, although they also feature bbq and mexican. For plates with meats like chicken, beef and pork, prices are around $ 9-$ 12(but they also feature interesting meat selections such as rabbit, lamb, quail, goat and bison). The big draw is that the meat is non-medicated and organic, I cannot believe the price point for such high quality meats. It usually comes with a generous amount of rice, a side salad, a whole grilled tomato and lots of amazing sauces such as tzatziki and green salsa. There are vegetarian options for around $ 5-$ 7(baked eggplants, falafels, vegetarian burritos or tacos, guacamole, greek and caesar salads). It does seem to take awhile for the order to be completed — but if you want your meal in 2 minutes, go to McDonalds. It’s great that someone is trying to put out high-quality fast food at a competitive price point, rather than stuffing us with all the processed, msg-laden, steriod-filled junk we’re used to eating on the run. So wait an extra 10 minutes or feel free to go somewhere else.

This place apparently thinks it’s ok to punch it’s customers. My good friend went in to buy a burrito, and as the debit transaction was going a little slow so he asked if he could take his card back. The owner said yes, and when he took it back the owner got really upset and asked why he had taken the card back. The owner was being rude to my friend and the couple behind him, so my friends asks«what’s with the attitude?» And without warning the owner punched my friend right in the ear. The police were called, and they promptly went into the back. Five minutes later the police showed up and they reviewed the security camera footage for the day only there was none, and my guess is because they erased it. This place should be shut down, which is a shame because they make a decent chicken, but I don’t want this kind of senseless violence in my community.

Yes, it can be slow. But the food is DELICIOUS. The lentil soup(which takes forever,) is seriously yummy. Also, the $ 5 chicken donair with a pop deal? Best deal ever. Yummy and cheap. And the donair is quicker than the soup. Bottom line, go there if you aren’t in a hurry and want some extremely reasonably priced and extremely delicious food. I honestly don’t mind the wait.

Walked in off the street with my girlfriend for some BBQ chicken. She asked how long the chicken had been sitting in the warmer and the mid-30s guy at the counter told her«5 minutes, 5 minutes.» One look at the dried out, congealed chicken pieces and you could tell it had been there a lot longer than that. We settled on the burrito special advertised on the signboard out front for $ 4.99 and asked for two burritos. The guy rung them in at $ 6.99 each and I reminded him that they we’re on special for $ 4.99. He got quite surly and told me that price was for«Small» ones. There weren’t even any«Small» burritos on the menu, so that was pretty sleazy bait and switch right there. We’re hungry so we decide to pay the extra $ 2 for a proper burrito. BIGMISTAKE. 20 minutes later(How does it take 20 minutes to make a burrito? I can do it at home in less time) we get our burritos to go and take them to a park to eat. Hands down the worst burritos I’ve EVER had. They we’re shockingly greasy, to the point where the grease leaked through the wrapping paper, and the paper bag they were in and ruined a shirt that was in my bag and for a so called«BBQ Chicken» place they had literally NO chicken in them. My burrito was pretty much entirely grease soaked rice and literally had like one mouthful of chicken in it and for some reason mine was on a whole wheat flour tortilla and my GF’s was on a white flour tortilla… Be wary of this place. Definitely did not get a good vibe or good food.

Got the donair deal of chicken donair and pop for around $ 5. Delicious donair and cheaper than normal and includes a drink. Nice, friendly owner, smells delicious when walking by the shop which drew us in. Highly recommend and will be going back!

Best value donair I’ve had. It’s also my #3 favourite donair and has potential to move up if they keep evolving. What Works: Halal free range chicken. Best chicken you’ll ever get on a donair, by far. Lots of sauces is usually a «no» for me, but the combo works(they have 4). The wrap was huge and not because of vegetables — lots of chicken. What doesn’t work: «Spicy» means something different to everyone and my first visit didn’t come with enough hot sauce. While the chicken was very high quality and well-cooked, it was a little plain. I like it a little crispier with a little more bite. There’s a lot of labour involved in each meal so I wouldn’t go in if it’s too busy. Concerns: I’ve concerns about the model that may affect later reviews. There’s a lot of labour put into each order(personally fried onions, then chicken added, prior to wrapping it up). Soup is heated from cold to hot to order. I love that, but it doesn’t work in a rush like most of their competitors. The menu is HUGE with lots of detail on each item, which is nice on one hand, but overwhelming on the other. I’ve been buying chicken here since 2009 and their passion for ethical treatment of meat and quality has no parallel. I hope this food model works for them.

Rounding down for continued slow, slow, slow service. If you can’t serve hot food in a reasonable amount of time then you should stick to just being a meat shop. If you have the time to wait, the food is tasty, but a donair shouldn’t take 30 — 45 minutes to prepare. Will not return.
