I placed an online order for delivery. Food arrived on time. I found the food to be OK but not nearly on the top of my list for Indian in East Van. The portions were on the small side and the naan was not good quality.

This is my favorite Indian place in Vancouver. The food is unreal. I just came back from a 9 month backpacking trip to India, and was so happy to come back to Tandoori Palace and enjoy some authentic Indian cuisine. The staff are lovely. I always get the butter chicken, but with vegetables instead of chicken. It’s a bit of a pain for them, because they have to make it fresh, but they always do with a smile. Keep up the amazing work guys!

Tandoori Palace is very unassuming, both inside and out. It’s almost like being in someone’s dining room… Service was quick and friendly, and the staff seemed to enjoy some banter behind the counter the whole time. I chose the Chicken Tikka Masala(asked for spicy), rice & naan. It didn’t look like much food, but I only managed to finish half; the rest accompanied me home. It was fresh and tasty, the naan was crispy, and the rice was fluffy. Do not come here for the ambiance or décor, come for the food :)

I always enjoy sitting outside or at the front window to people watch while I wait for my food. I have had a few people walk by while I am eating and ask what I ordered! It looks and tastes amazing. It is always great to eat some Tandoori Palace on a hot summer night or while I’m sick in the winter. They never disappoint. Great service dining in or delivery — always on time and the staff are pleasant to interact with. I have ordered off LazyMeal four times, plus phone-in twice and eaten in at the restaurant four times. Their naan is the best. Their naan is the best. Their naan is the best. Saag paneer has a perfect bite. Chicken korma oh so rich and creamy. Usually add in a chana masala or daal alongside 1 rice & two naan — great to mix in with the other dishes. I always have to bring some tupperware as three curries is enough for four meals. The actual restaurant probably would not be suitable for groups of 6 or more, as there is limited space — but it is great for a date! Also, their naan is the best. I really enjoy that each curry includes your choice of naan or rice, instead of having to purchase a side separately. Tip: To order, walk up to the cash register to pay before you seat yourself.

I’ve eaten here many times and always enjoy my meal. As 2 people, we usually order 2 dishes — one with rice and the other with naan. The naan is spectacular! Just the right amount to share — usually with nothing, or very little left over. I have yet to try the delivery service and will be doing that momentarily. As other reviewers have stated — don’t be turned off by the«hole-in-the-wall» ambience. It keeps the cost down and the tastes authentic!

Visiting Vancouver with family. We were famished but held out to find this place. So happy to have found them. We ordered naan, tikka chicken and beef seekh kabab. Probably the best I’ve had in years. And believe it coming from a picky foodie. To top it off, the yogurt raita was to die for, no, to kill for. I would’ve walked away happy just with the naan and raita. The rest of the manna was even better. Ended with fabulous chai. Must do again. Good for takeaway, dont be turned off by the hole in wall ambience.

Eaten here a lot. Great most of the time. Once in a while they have an off day and the dishes don’t taste good. But generally fresh with a good spice level and excellent naan.

This is a great hole-in-the-wall Indian restaurant and one of my go-to places on the Drive. Don’t expect awesome décor. If you can get past that, you will get some great food! Everything is made fresh and arrives hot! Their food also has normal Indian spice levels — usually too much for western diners — so order accordingly. As an added bonus, the Tandoori Palace is open past 10pm! A vancouver rarity!

We lucked into this place while walking, since it didn’t show up on my Unilocal search. The Nan is THEBEST we’ve ever had and we have tried Indian food all over the world. Do not miss it!!! Owner was very nice and suggested butter sauce with rice for my kids who gobbled it up like they hadn’t eaten in weeks. My husband tried the Chili Chicken and said it was excellent. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala, and while my favorite is still one I had in NYC, this one was very close! Thank you for a lovely meal!

Best mixed veggie curry! It’s almost an addiction for me… The lamb curry is also excellent. Reasonably priced food and they deliver.

If you’ve tried the Indian food at Little India(and I’ve tried over half a dozen venues just in that vicinity) like I have this venue will be a nice change. You’ll also notice that the flavours are still very sophisticated and spicey(not in the heat sense) but not as sharp as Indian Food. This is likely because, as it states is Pakistani /Middle Eastern /Inidan… which makes it fusion? The dishes come with either white rice or house made naan. The bowl of curry it comes with tends to be fairly rich(or heavy) as it has much oil. Tried the fish Vindaloo and some of the cashew chicken and masala chicken, all with their own unique tastes. The decors are minimal and the venue is rather run down. Just don’t expecting anything eye pleasing except for the food. Average price for dishes are $ 12 which includes rice or bread so it’s on par with the typical Indian restaurant which sticker $ 10 for curries alone. «I’ll be back».

Food here is good and reasonably priced. Also the serving size is great. However service sucks. I ordered on lazymeal from them once, thought it was great and did it again. That’s where I went wrong. I called the restaurant and I had the guy yelling at me and getting mad at the customer and asking me as to why I was calling about the order when it was already in place. Despite the good food, I will most likely not order from here again.

This place is delicious. We ordered WAY too much food, but we tried everything. It is delicious. The staff is very friendly, and the food is more authentic than I can say. You won’t be disappointed here.

Awesome curry joint, has both quantity and quality. Although the sauce tastes best when heated, has been served cold a few times. Great place, would defs check out.

Good hearty Indian food with large portions. Tasted good going down… but the heavy cream was hard to digest and the same taste after awhile made me feel a bit sick. Had the spinach paneer and my friend went with a tomato based curry which she loved. She also loved the naan. I prefer slightly healthier food with more variety so will pass next time.

For a city with a large population from or with ancestry from the Indian subcontinent, it’s surprisingly hard to escape mediocre buffet-style curry joints and get to the good stuff. This is definitely«the good stuff»: rich, northern-India/Pakistani type of curries, and a most exquisite buttered nan. I’ve tried pretty much all their dishes one time or another(they’re all good IMO). My favorite is the lamb methi with nan, which, while intended for one, I usually split with a friend. The curries here are VERY rich so maybe not the best if you’re looking to diet. The service is a bit to the point, but they are fast enough, which is all I want from this kind of place. It’s very informal, not a sit-down dining location as such, though there are tables and a counter you can eat at, it’s just not a fancy place and it’s geared towards take-out customers.

Had the most amazing dinner last night. Naan and veggie pakora, and my favorite chicken tikka masala. So spicy yet so satisfying. I tried some aloo gobi too and will order that next time. Glad they deliver too. My new goto for great Indian fare.

Oh yep. I love this place. The food here is delicious people, just delicious. The alu gobi is my jam! The mixed veg. The chutney. The naan. And so on. The service is great, they are super friendly and pretty damn quick. The delivery option is a lovely plus, however I don’t recommend ordering papadums as they DONOT travel well. If you don’t eat yourself into a coma, you can get a couple meals out of your order.

Alright, so I decided to give this place another(couple of) chance(s). It was pretty rough for delivery but I live a lot closer to it now so I went for the take-out option. It was significantly better fresh, I’ll tell you that! The staff weren’t super friendly — I think indifferent is probably a good term for them, but the food tasted fresh and the samosas were way less greasy, although I’d still like more chutney with them. The curries we got were pretty tasty, but don’t expect any spice at all — I forgot to tell them I like it spicy, and they definitely didn’t ask. The naan is good, if a little dry — I tend to prefer mine a little doughier — it sure is huge though. I’d go back again, but I wouldn’t say it’s anything special at all, just a handy, cheap, convenient place to get ok Indian food.
