I like there because food is good and authentic, But the last three times have been a disappointment; this last time, service was bad. Food took around an half hour to arrive and the bartender was being rude. Maybe is time to find a different Mexican restaurant.

Nah! Didn’t like it! Looked promising from the outside, and Al-Noor said it was good, but I didn’t care for it. I had chicken tacos and they were very dry, no sour cream or salsa or anything really. There were two very small tacos, some rice(which was good), and retried beans(no thanks). The service was really good and the bus boy(are they still called that?) was really cute, but I didn’t enjoy my meal at all, sooo… ya!

Came here a couple months ago with a two friends. I live nearby so thought it would be a good idea to establish whether I could be a potential regular at this place. Nope. After we were seated, took around 15 minutes for our server to come by and take our orders. About 20 minutes later, my friends’ food arrived, and mine didn’t show up until maybe 30 minutes after, rather unapologetically. I had ordered the flautas, and they were as lukewarm, dry and tasteless as the side of rice and beans they were served with. A complete waste of time and money, I have never been back.

Decent place if you’re in the neighbourhood. The tacos were great but pricey for the portion. Definitely pick the seafood ones if you wanna splurge. And their burritos are a way better choice if you’re hungry. They don’t take reservations so you might have to wait on busier nights.

This place looks nice and… that’s pretty much it. What about the cons? — Temperature: freezing cold. We all kept our jacket on from the beginning to the end. — Food: plain and mediocre. Two people said it tasted like Mcdonald’s and one of my friend had stomach pain for hours after eating their fish tacos. — Service round 1: not impressive. Smiling is apparently not part of the staff’s dictionary. — Service round 2: terrible. There was no check up to see how our meal was or to fill our glasses of water at anytime. — Service round 3: UNACCEPTABLE. Our waitress and the manager were beyond RUDE. One of my friend and I ordered some churros but soon realized that there where filled with cream when they came in. Wait a minute, since when churros are filled with cream inside? But more importantly: where was it written on the menu? Easy answer: nowhere. After desperately trying to get the attention of the waitress, my Colombian friend told her in Spanish that the churros were not as described on the menu and that we wanted regular ones. She first made a face and then told us that it was all they had — by the way, thanks for clarifying that you cook out of FROZENFOOD. The waitress didn’t want to handle the situation, so she asked her manager to come in. Again my friend explained in Spanish the situation but the manager acted like he didn’t understand her and kept giving answers that missed the point(seriously?!). When he finally understood that we wouldn’t be eating something which didn’t fit its description in the first place, he made a face too, took our plate and just left without saying a single word. Pardon me? Is it seriously how you deal with unsatisfied customers? First you pretend not to understand them and then you walk away without even apologizing or proposing anything to make up for it? Going back? I’ll do myself a favor: no. And so should you.

I love patron! my favourite mexican restaurant in vancouver. I love the ambiance — the cantina design and the chandelier lights, like twinkling stars lit up at night. the sports bar has big screen TVs that play canuck games in the background. service is friendly and efficient. the menu is extensive — every kind of mexican food you can think of — and the food is delicious! I like their chips & salsa trio, carne asada, carnitas & baja fish tacos, fresh pico de gallo & guacamole, grilled carne asada steak topped with cheese, refried beans & corn tortillas. the mango margarita is good and next time I’m going to try the pineapple. going to keep working my way through the menu :)

We were greeted very quickly and had chips and salsa brought to us right away. Our drinks came quick after that. The food came out really fast and was absolutely delicious and they brought 3 different salsas to have with our meal. Mild, medium and hot. The hot was great! And very hot and the mild was super refreshing and flavourful! It got very busy very early on a Friday so it took a while for me to get a second beer. That was my only issue. The rest of my experience was great! Can’t wait to go back and try some more items! Everything that we saw come out of the kitchen looked amazing!

Used their online reservations system from their website; was blocked for some reason then a pop up box appeared, giving a reason due to the big World Cup qualifier last month. Sweet.

I didn’t have a bad experience, I just didn’t like their food/drinks. Blended margarita machine was broken so I opted for one on the rocks off their specialty menu. It wasn’t good at all, super sweet. I felt like I was drinking pure sugar. For the food, Chips and salsa were good. Carna asada taco and rice were ok. Chicken taco was no Bueno. Cute spot, semi busy… wish food and margs were better. Margarita was by far the worst, which is tough since it was a Mexican restaurant.

Things they’re doing right: 1. Unlimited chips and salsa 2. Big ass wet burritos 3. Top shelf margaritas 4. Great service I had their carnita wet burrito and it was damn tasty. It was also pretty big, so big that I couldn’t finish it on my own(not to toot my own horn, but I can usually chow down like a mofo, so I guess that’s saying something…) I had a not-so-good experience the first time I came here. I think it was the Mexican soup — it was terrible. BUT, I decided to give them a second change last weekend and they redeemed themselves. Reading the other reviews, I’m guessing this place is a hit or miss?

Don’t go there. But if you’re determined, just be careful!!! The food gets 2 out of 5. The service gets 0, because it’s slow and the one who served us was not honest at all. Be careful, some of the waitresses might purposely pre-add 18% worth of tips in the gratitude section of your bill without your acknowledgement, and watching you pay another 15%.

Cool little Mexican place at a great location! Me and a few friends grabbed a couple of shots there before a concert, all I can say is that the drinks are reasonably priced, the bartenders are very responsible with their recommendations, and they cheered us on as we took the shots! Definitely going back during the summer for a Mexican bulldog

This was our first time going to this restaurant and we were very pleased with the authenticity and taste. We each ordered a taco, my husband chose carnitas and I chose shredded chicken. They were so good and, may I say, reasonably priced! We also ordered a nacho plate with shredded chicken. The order had quite a bit of chicken and cheese, so much we couldn’t finish it! We also ordered a couple of beers to go with our meal. The Patron lager was very refreshing and they had a good selection of Mexican cervezas as well. We live about half the year in Tucson AZ, so we know good Mexican food when we have it. This is good Mexican! The staff was friendly and attentive, especially our server Paula. Give it a try, it’s good food and not a rip off!

Given the location and the overall vibe of this joint, I wouldn’t expect to give this place 3***, but the food is actually really good and authentic. My gf, who was born and raised in Mexico City, insisted I give the place a shot, and as usual when it comes to Mexican she knows what’s what. I don’t like the feel of the place, the décor, the service, the whole ambiance. It feels like it’s trying to hustle a buck off tourists and sports fans, and given the location and what they likely pay for rent, I don’t blame them a bit, but still I don’t enjoy it for myself. Everything is clean but lacking style. The food is good but you’re paying full value for it. The service is adequate but impersonal. Actually, the more I think about it, kudos to them for actually providing authentic & tasty food; they could sell basic tacos, burritos and enchilladas and probably gross the same money if not more for being more accessible to the customers to whom they generally cater. All the same, if you’re in that area looking for Mexican food, «The Mexican» is approximately 500m away on Granville street, and is much much better in every regard(including the food).

I’d love to give this place 4 stars because the food was actually pretty decent… especially the conchinita: yum! But the rest really made me not enjoy my experience. The ambience was not good. While the place looks really nice, the noise level was unacceptable considering the amount of what seemed to be somebody drilling in the back for a good 10 – 15 minutes. Lunchtime rush is NOT the time to do renovations. The service was also very spotty. We had a minimum of three servers, all of which were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. We had one girl seat us, one guy give us a bottle of water without glasses to pour them into, one server who dropped off some tortilla chips, one server who wanted to take our order but we needed more time, another, and another different server who ended up taking the order. Our drinks were delivered 5 minutes later which was funny because I was the only one to order a drink so I told the server my friend didn’t order one. She gave me a knowing look but didn’t bother taking the drink away. It took a nod to another waitress to remove it. The food was good, as stated, but the price made it seem like I would have gotten a larger portion. I realize the location demands higher costs but I’d rather make the journey to Sal Y Limon for better food and better prices.

It was my first time eating here. I like the ambiance — very nice décor. I ordered a wet burrito with chicken. The service was prompt. The servers were pleasant, courteous even. They give you a platter of chips with salsa to start with like any other Mexican restaurants. The 3 stars is for the chicken which was a bit bland and tasted like boiled not grilled as the waitress said when I asked her. I didn’t mind it because I know it’s healthier. In spite of this experience I will go back to this place. Vancouver is just beginning to wake up its Mexican culinary scene. This place has a lot of potential to be a go to place for authentic Mexican food. Although at the moment it’s still in development.

Well, first time for everything — I’ve officially walked out of my first restaurant. Sat there for over 10 mins, no acknowledgment, not even water. Wasn’t even busy. I’ve eaten here before, food isn’t anything special, but the only Mexican food in the area so we were desperate… I should have known better. In today’s climate of reviews and feedback, and in a competitive restaurant market like Vancouver, this is just unacceptable. The owners are clearly not holding the staff to any standards of service, so the clock begins to tick on its inevitable doom. Not to mention the carne asada plate(a signature Mexican dish) comes with a baked potato… Wtf? Baked potato? In Mexican food? I have a feeling some rich kid from Ohio moved to Vancouver and thought it’d be cute to open a Mexican joint…

This place has been on my bucket list for a while, however, what made this place score with me was the«best nachos in Vancouver» article by Vancity Buzz that was published on June 3rd. Of course it also helps that it is a Mexican place that I have yet to discover. The inside of the place looks more like a bar and less like a traditional Mexican eatery. Prices are high for single tacos, therefore, get the 4 pack. They charge you $ 2.50 for less than 1oz of Guacamole which was a bit weak. If you get the 4 pack and they ask if you want cheese and Guacamole be careful as for so little that should be inclusive with the tacos, they will charge you $ 2.50/each for that. Our meals came out fast and our waitress was super friendly. I do have to agree with Diana L that I felt rushed with the ordering. I wasn’t even finished telling my order and she tried to walk away real fast multiple times. The tacos themselves were flavorful, however, points lost just on the price points. The music was a bit too loud, therefore, it was hard to have a conversation with the person I was with.

Fantastic Mexican Restaurant !! Found this place the week they opened a couple years ago and have been here a few times. It’s great ! Seats about 50 people, very cool décor and super comfortable. Nice music plays and they have LCD screens to keep you occupied if your dining alone or want to watch the game. Our server came to the table with chips and salsa to take my drink order — double slushy lime margarita please. They were ok but the slush melted pretty quick and then it just became lemon liquid. Still good though. My friend had a mojito and it was a crushed mint and was an original for sure. The menu is pretty big and everything looks wonderful… the photos are mouthwatering !! We ordered a quesadilla and chicken enchilada’s. They were served with the regulars players(re-fried beans and rice — which were very tasty) and the entrees were delicious ! LOVE this place !!

I have been to this restaurant twice and I don’t think I will be back again. The first time I went a few months ago, I ordered tacos and was not able to finish them because they were not good. at all! I tried a few different types but was not impressed by any of them. How do you mess up tacos? Also, the chips that you get while you wait on your meal were soo plain. I went to the restaurant again yesterday and ordered chicken flautas-once again, not good. The dish came with rice which was sooo dry. There is nothing exciting about any of the food I have tried at Patron :( The restaurant is in a great location though, menu is reasonably priced, the bathrooms are clean and the servers are very friendly! They have big screens, are licensed and the atmosphere is pretty chill so perhaps this is a great place to grab a beer and catch the game!

I made a reservation for 12 people to have lunch, we arrive on time and they didn’t had our table ready, they spread us in all the restaurant, after that a waiter told us that they will seat us in one table, two table for 10 were available and they didn’t sat us on those tables and put another reservation on those tables and the argument was that they also had reservation, this restaurant is not organized not even the captain knew what was going on. I won’t come again here
