Gone down hill, I don’t know what they just served me but the pork had the consistency of a fatty plantain. I think everything had been sitting next around for a while. The fish was the same, cold and smooshy. This does not reflect poorly on the restaurant but the truck is not it.

Best fish tacos I’ve ever had! I wish they were open more!

Delicious, cheap eats, friendly staff and reasonable prices! What isn’t to love? The menu is simple. Essentially, burritos or tacos. Simple. Quick. Tasty. I ordered the fish burrito and it was huge! The fish was crispy and the burrito was loaded with beans, rice and veggies. The food does not have very much spice to it so if you like a kick, definitely utilize the hot sauces that are available to you.

As much as I love the flavours of the tacos, I find this place overpriced. Considering there are amazing tacos elsewhere for about 2.50 a taco. I just can’t justify paying 6 – 7 bucks a taco knowing I want to eat like 4 – 5. Don’t get me wrong, if you haven’t had these tacos you should come and eat them because they are good. But for the price, I’d rather go elsewhere.

Amazing tacos, they have 4 taco selections and the diablo cookie. I haven’t tried all their tacos but their original fish tacos are AMAZING! $ 5 per taco, cod is always crispy and cabbage salad on too is always fresh. Really they are the best fish tacos i have had in town. The diablo cookie was ok, though i don’t think everyones cup of tea, it does have a spicy kick to it. There is normally aline around noon so make sure you plan for that. They do have a card machine but sometimes it’s off service.

The guy taking orders was so offensive and disgusting. I can’t understand how he is allowed to work on that truck. He was yelling at my pregnant friend and treated everyone so poorly. Then he started blatantly hitting on two college girls in line, in between attacking and barking at everyone else. He was so scary for being so small. I’ve never in my life experienced customer service so horrendous. What an awful experience. Don’t bother.

Quite tasty, one of my go-to places for lunch. The consistency is pretty mediocre though. I would largely attribute this to how busy they are, but some times I get a great stuffed burrito, other times it is pretty slim. About 1⁄3 of the time my burrito is split open and I have to carefully eat. Victim of their own success.

Worst food experience EVER! The skinny, short guy in the hat taking orders at the truck was, by far, the meanest, rudest customer service I’ve dealt with. I don’t know if he was super high, racist, or just having a terrible day — but this guy should NOT be the face of your business. He was blatantly rude to everyone ordering. Accused my sister of trying to steal a soda because he was too high to understand that I wanted to pay for it with my order. Rolled his eyes dozens of times when I was telling my order. Audibly talking trash about us with the cook within close earshot. He couldn’t understand the most basic orders and payment instructions and then would get angry at us when he didn’t understand. If he wasn’t really high on drugs or having a god-awful day, then this guy is just a plain terrible person. We were so shocked and agitated by the experience that it ruined any chance of enjoying lunch. NOTWORTHIT.

Solid fish tacos. The fish itself was amazing, perfectly battered and fried. Though I generally prefer corn tortillas, the flour tortillas they use at TacoFino are good and probably more practical for a food truck. I did feel they could up their salsa game a bit, I found it a bit bland and it could have used a little more heat. Five bucks for a single taco is on the pricey side.

Their fish tacos are delicious and so are their salted chillie chocolate cookies. Definitely worth a try. Do try their hot saucenon the fish tacos — a refreshinglyndpicy combination.

Ask my boyfriend how obsessed I’ve been with Tacofino for the last couple of years(see my previous review of them from May 2012 :). Amazing food. But, I sense that something has changed — is the fish burrito sauce that is different? Can’t pinpoint it. Got the fish burrito bowl for lunch today, and, although it is tasty and filling and nothing is wrong with it, it just seemed like something I could easily put together at home without the secret ingredients that used to make this so special. Although I will still go to Tacofino and gladly order the food, just wanted to leave some feedback on here, maybe it is still time to get it back on track before other diners notice.

After my visit to the Vancouver Art Gallery I came out hungry! It was like 130 so I had to eat soon or I would faint! The city closed down Granville Street and a bunch of food trucks were out. My friend and I walked on Granville looking for a food truck that served a decent lunch. No luck. I suggested we go back and try eating at Chipotle Mexican Grill. Well when we got to the front door there was a line up out right out the door! Finally we settled on the food trunks just outside of the Art Gallery. TacoFino is where I ended up going. I’ve heard of this place, but never had the opportunity to give it a try. I ordered 2 tacos: pork belly and their most popular taco the fish taco. Both were pretty good, but I like the fresh taco better. Overall, I like TacoFino! Their soft shell taco is thin and light. They also use lots of fresh ingredients to garnish their tacos. I would come back and try some of their other taco offerings. It was quite a Van City thing sitting on the stairs of the Vancouver Art Gallery on a bright and beautiful June day people watching and enjoying some tacos! Go Canucks! Haha!

Best Burrito ever! I got the fish burrito and added guac. Just amazing. Price is a bit much(like $ 15+) for my 1 burrito, which is why it is 4 and not 5 stars. I’d definitely go back.

Not up to the hype. The corn fritters were amazing. The rest, I would pass. Flour tortillas not corn used for all tacos= fail. Salsa bland tasted like tomato sauce. Bartender great! Vibe fun.

Tacofino was once remarkably delicious and value-priced. Sadly no longer the case. The $ 5 shelled out for each of my two fish tacos from their downtown food truck were a far cry from the amazing nosh I enjoyed at their East Hastings spot just a year ago. There’s nothing wrong with the food truck taco model, and there’s nothing wrong with Tacofino’s food, which is still fresh and decently priced as far as downtown options. But there’s also no longer that zip and pow that defined their offerings when they were newer on the scene, and there’s not much setting them apart from other options aside from a hipster cred premium… nice for branding and for some of their bespectacled /bearded /messenger bag clientele maybe, but harder to swallow for the rest of us.

I definitely agree with a few of my fellow Unilocalers that the quality of TacoFino has dropped recently and the prices have gone up. The fish taco that I had seemed a bit different from before and the five dollars that I paid was definitely not justified by either the quality nor the quantity. I really enjoyed their large and fresh deep fried pieces of cod before but now the fish seems a bit off and now there’s just way too much batter. I know that five dollars can’t get you much in Vancouver(some may argue) but I’m a fairly large guy so if two $ 5 tacos can’t fill me up, then you’re not getting my business anymore!

Love this place. The sangria, tacos and dessert were all delicious. I am definetly going back. I ordered the fish taco which was scrumptious! I love sangria and these guys make a pretty good one! In fact I drank it pretty quick! For dessert we ordered the lemon pie in a jar… so good. Wish I had ordered my own instead of sharing with my friend. Haha! Downside is that it’s small with very little seating. We had to wait, what felt like 30 mins. Luckily we got our own table and didn’t have to squeeze in with a bunch of strangers on a long table(like cafeteria style). I would not have enjoyed that… considering we met to catch up… and we’re loud people. lol Haven’t been? You’re missing out!

Once again, 3 stars means«A-Ok» please read the Unilocal guidelines! a 3 is still good! The Tacofino foodtruck never comes to my area(Granville and Broadway area) so when I was out and about downtown I had to try it. I had 2 tacos: the Fish taco, and the Chicken Karage taco. Both were excellent, fresh, and served quickly and in a a friendly manner. So why why only 3 stars? Value. As in price per portion size. Tacos are by nature supposed to be cheap. I know food carts(only in Vancouver it seems), have killer overhead and they need to recoup that and the inflated food prices we have here over the rest of North America. However,. I cannot in good conscience score higher when I now there are equally awesome tacos around the city cheaper and bigger. Again, they tasted awesome, so if money is no object, by all means this is your place. But $ 11 to not even be full?
