Sushi remains constant, but in the interest of safety I must share my last experience here. The word ‘rat’ immediately scares people. On the positive side the one I saw scrolling under the tables was kind of cute, almost domesticated, it was still a rat. Now I can understand that all restaurants inevitably deal with rodent issues during their time, but the response to my spotting was in short ‘wtf’. So I go up to the counter, saying I saw one rat. Girl at counter smiles(???). Turns to manager. I talk to manager. His response: «I’ll find it later.» Umm, there is no ‘later’ buddy. Drop that roll and find the darn thing now. Where there is one, there is likely more. Lets hope this little rat is a loner.

After three reviews there were a possible 10 stars out of 15 awarded to this restaurant. Unilocal must have some fancy algorithm for reviews because it’s currently rated 3.5 stars, when 10 out of 15 should clearly translate into an even 3. However, with my **** rating, this restaurant can now be accurately described at 3.5 stars from a mathematical perspective. From a restaurant quality perspective, it’s a 4. The food is reasonably priced. More importantly, it’s good. The staff calling out the numbers is not annoying or deafening in my opinion. What is annoying is that the numbers are called out in a random order. 23−53−34! It’s like listening to a quarterback, and makes knowing when you’re almost about to get served very difficult. «What number did they just call?» is a common question heard. But, the food is fresh, and the restaurant a great lunch choice.

This is one of my favourite sushi places primarily because the rolls have a lot of fish and not a lot of rice. As another reviewer mentioned, the service is pretty fast, which is useful when you’re in a hurry. I disagree that the staff calling out the numbers is annoying and deafening. They’re not that loud, and the staff are always friendly. This isn’t the place for a fancy dinner, but if you want a quick bite, I would certainly recommend it. The one downside is that they’re not open that late.
