There are hundreds of options for sushi in Vancouver but the Sushi Gallery is by far the best for herbivores and carnivores alike. A lot of sushi restaurants in Kits seem to lose their quality as the prices go down but Sushi Gallery manages to maintain their quality. They have tons of veggie rolls and vegetarian miso soup!

I was recommended this place by a friend who praised the dollar value and encouraged me to try them out. I was quite rushed for a dentist appointment but knew i needed to pack in some rice for the two hour procedure. I arrived and quickly selected one of their lunch combos. The amount of food I received was awesome! The rolls were very large and it made it quite difficult to eat comfortably. My table had no soy sauce tray and also had no soy sauce — I had to steal them from a neighbouring table. Also, the taste was rather bland. I will consider updating my review when I try out some of their other rolls. Was only somewhat impressed.

Love the food and the price. It is quite a small place so you might have to wait a while but it is worth it. Best sushi joint in West Point grey!

Cheap sushi made by Korean. Free miso soup. Fresh sashimi. They tend to give people more pieces than listed on menu when ordering sashimi. Become my regular go to place. Not top quality but deserves the price

Honestly cheap and good sushi, I don’t know if it was intentional or by accident but 3 times we order combo of 2 salmon 2 tuna sashimi and they gave us double every time :) and love the free miso soup

Food: 3⁄5 Service: 3⁄5 Ambiance: 3⁄5 Value: 5⁄5 Cheap sushi, but at cheap prices. The food is decent, nothing that I would crave, but it doesn’t taste bad either. The servers seem to always be swamped, so getting their attention is a little hard. They make up for it by having unlimited, help yourself to it, miso soup. Place is nothing to write home about, it’s just a place to grab a cheap bite, and it’s pretty close to campus by car or bus.

Good taste, free miso soup and tea, great service and cheap. I often go there as they have lots of vegetarian options.

Ok… So this is my new favourite sushi spot in Kits! There are so many options for cheap sushi on the west-side: Jun’s, Greenleaf, and Hitoe just to name a few. But how about Sushi Gallery? The first thing that peaked my interest was the unlimited tea and miso soup(gluten/vegetarian or regular options). I recommend trying the gluten free version. There are generous amounts of potato, melon and cabbage pieces that you just have to fish around for. It’s not too salty either. Sushi Gallery also offers ‘low sodium’ soy sauce. You can find it at the counter, where the self-serve station is located. As for the meal, I ordered a famous roll, the«Stamina roll»(5 pieces) for $ 5.90. It contained tuna, prawn tempura, eel tempura and crab meat. It was definitely filling and satisfying, although I couldn’t taste any sign of the eel tempura. My friend and I also ordered the vegetable tempura which was $ 5, and there was a good variety and amount(yam, broccoli, zucchini, red pepper, potato). However, when my friend’s order arrived, it came without wasabi. He asked for some and the waitress apologized, returned with some more, and asked if we wanted more wasabi or ginger later. How sweet of her :) I know why this place gets packed at 6pm. The service is fast, the food is very satisfying, and well-priced. Just make sure you beat the rush. At one point the staff couldn’t seat any more people despite there being empty tables, because the kitchen was too busy with takeout orders!

Team Itadakimasu came here for a Friday night dinner and I ordered a Chicken Karaage, aFire Dynamite Roll, and a BBQ Unagi(Eel) Roll. First off the prices here astounded me. Each item was under $ 5.50 or less and had a hearty serving of at least 8 pieces. The Fire Dynamite Roll was my favourite. It’s lathered with two kinds of sauce to give it a spicy taste. Likewise for the Unagi Roll, the teriyaki sauce was a great topping to help it meld apart in my mouth. The rice was pretty soft too so it’s definitely a fresh roll. The Chicken Karaage was interesting here. It’s slathered with this honey garlic sauce which kind of makes it taste like American boneless chicken wings. Not my favourite kind either. Miso soup here is complimentary and you can have as much of it as you want at the self-serve counter. There is also a gluten-free miso soup option for those that get anxious around regular miso soup. For the price of everything here, the value is real and this is a terrific place for a bite of sushi.

The food of here tasted ok but the service was super bad and slow! I ordered a bibimbob n my hubby had a sushi combo last time. We waited for over 20 mins to have my bibimbob and the rice was«cold». My hubby’s order took forever to get and the staffs were so lazy only standing around the counter since they don’t serve at all tables actively. The good point of this place is you can help yourself to miso soup n tea ! FYI

After googling Gluten Free and Vegan sushi in KITS, the number one recommendation is Sushi Gallary! Super affordable and cozy! They offer free, unlimited miso soup(2 different types) and green tea. I ordered 2 rolls with brown rice(gomae and mixed veg, with STEAMED yam) and GF agadashi tofu. It was such a treat to have these as options! That came to a whopping $ 12 and it was really good!

The sushi is delicious, but the service is below par. If they say your order will be ready for pick up in 15 minutes, I suggest waiting 30 minutes. On more than one occasion I’ve gotten home and my order has been incomplete or incorrect.

This sushi place is probably one of the best and most affordable places I have ever visited. I cannot stress how important fresh fish is at a sushi restaurant and they were up to par in that respect. After visiting this place last year, I have only compared it to all the other sushi restaurants I’ve been to. ABSOLUTELY A HIDDENGEM! If you are a foodie, this place is a MUSTTRY!

This place is a hidden gem. No, it isn’t Tojo’s or Miku, but that’s not what it’s trying to be; Sushi Gallery is instead the around-the-corner type quality sushi joint that Vancouver is known for. Perfectly cooked rice, good quality and fresh wild salmon(and so cheap for wild — whoa) and some really great & different rolls. The price is very affordable and the people who work here are delightful. Did I mention free miso soup? It’s the kind of place you almost don’t want to write a Unilocal review about because you don’t want it to get too crowded :) But they are so wonderful, they deserve to be successful.

It’s a cheap place to go eat, sure. The quality is decent. Everything was just decent. I don’t think I’d come back any time soon because there’s so many other places that I’d like to try. I got the Spicy King Roll(?), I don’t really remember, but it was alright. It had chopped scallops and topped with the spicy sauce. I’m not a huge fan of their spicy sauce. It said it was topped with«crispy flakes» or whatever but it was literally rice puffs and corn flakes. The cereal was stale too. Have you ever had stale Corn Flakes? No? Lucky you. Moreover, I got the spicy tuna roll. Same deal. Not a fan of their spicy sauce. Kind of unfortunate because I love my spicy food(thus, ordering two spicy rolls) but I was kind of disappointed. Not to mention, the rolls were falling apart, there was not nearly enough rice to keep the rolls together. The tuna and scallops were good. Maybe the other things would’ve have been better and I was struck with the dislike for their spicy sauce. If you’re looking for a cheap, decent, average sushi, then give this place a try. But other than that, maybe you should keep looking because I know I’m on the hunt of THE sushi place.

There is a saying something to the effect of… once you find a treasure, you keep it close to you, hide it, and not to reveal it I was a bit hesitant to write a review for Sushi Gallery because it is certainly Point Grey’s neighborhood G-E-M and the selfish part of me wants to keep it away from the spot light. But at the same time, good things are meant to be shared: Sushi Gallery is a homey restaurant, easy-going and down-to-earth. You can walk up to the self-serve station for a choice between the regular Miso Soup and the Gluten-Free Miso Soup(don’t forget to sprinkle the freshly-diced green onions), and pour yourself a cup of hot tea, compliment of the house of course. Then you can munch on complimentary edamame offered by the friendly staff while you study the menu and photos of myriad sushi plastered on the wall. To help you navigate through the comprehensive menu, here are my usual suspects: Assorted Sashimi: Pieces of meaty Salmon, Tuna, Tako, Snapper, Hokigai, and Spicy Tuna showcased beautifully on a big platter. I usually ask for Wild Salmon for an additional $ 1.50, which I think it is well worth it. All the cuts are fresh no doubt and of good portion; but I’d suggest the chef to slice differently to avoid frequent bites into the beins. Negitoro Cone Sushi: Instead of the left-over pieces of Tuna that are pounded and mixed with green onions that you may always encounter at other sushi places, you get good quality and good portioned Tuna that are sliced and diced and wrapped with a crispy seaweed sheet. Also, hats off to the team that put together such creative menu, give the famous rolls a try: Fire Dynamite Roll: Drizzled with fire-red spice sauce on top, the Prawn Tempura, Crabmeat, Avocado, and Masago come together nicely in a contrasting texture: the sweet crunchiness from the tempura VS the creamy oily avocado. Rainbow Roll: A decadent and beautiful dish of Salmon, Tuna, Ebi, Avocado Eal, Prawn Tempura, Tamago. Not only is it visually appealing, all the ingredients come together in a wicked party. Sweet Heart Roll: A cute dish where sushi are paired to form a heart-shape, great to share with your crush, maybe s/he will get the hint after this. Sushi Gallery also has a good selection of vegan options. I like to crunch down the Vege Caterpillar Roll that has Steamed Yam, Avocado, Cucumber, Carrot, Red Pepper, Mango, and Mushroom. The sweetness from the yam, red pepper and mango mix with the earthiness of the mushroom, creamed with ripe avocado and balanced with light cucumber… mmmmMmmMmmm. Haven’t said that about vegetable in a long long time. The secret to great sushi is very simple: fresh fish + good rice. The rice here deserve the award for best supporting role because it is good quality rice, with a texture that has a bite to it and is prepared with just the right about of rice vinegar that does not take the spot light away from the fish. Thumbs up. Lastly, if you are looking to enjoy the food at a function elsewhere, the party-trays look appealing and the prices are reasonable, AND with a Gluten-Free option as well! Well there you go monsier et madame, my favorite neighborhood sushi establishment. C’est ci et ci bon~ Cheerio~
