Is anyone else trying to get a hold of this guy after making wine that should be long ago ready? He seems to have disappeared… not reachable by phone or at the store… anybody know anything. I liked going here before, but am really wondering what is going on and wishing I had my summer wine and wasn’t afraid I was never going to see my money’s worth.

David really knows his stuff. Upon walking in, within minutes, David asked me what I was looking for and gave me a tour of his thoughts. I’ve been making wine for years and never got this much helpful information in all of my visits to other wine-making establishments. The selection of wine kits and accessories is great. I would go out of my way to come back here.

Okay, if you’d told me a year ago that I’d be a fan of a you-brew wine place, I’d have laughed at your face. However, a friend gave me a gift certificate to Grape Escape, and since I’m never one to turn down free booze, off I went. The owner was super helpful and informative, asked what kind of wine I like drinking and then recommended a few options. Based on his information, I chose one and went for it. He offered that I could come back and watch the initial brew process and explained everything he was doing in detail. When I picked up my wine 6 weeks later, to my surprise I liked it! And at around $ 4/bottle instead of the liquor store prices it kind of became a no brainer. I’m doing my second batch now and I imagine I’ll be back again regularly.

I drive 40 minutes out of my way every time I need something home brew related just to come to this store. The first time I came in the shop, he filled me with so much useful information that I insisted on paying the regular price instead of the on sale price for what I was buying. I just felt so grateful that I needed to give back more. As far as I can tell, a man named David is the owner and he is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. He’s generous with his wine knowledge and easy to talk to. I asked many beginners questions that i’m sure he’s had to answer a hundred times, but he’s always patiently explained and I never felt like I was asking a silly question. My first batch ever of wine turned out really nicely because I was able to lean on Davids expertise with a quick phone call when I needed it.
