This review is based on a dine-in experience for late dinner(8pm?) for a small group. Food/drink prices were above average for the similar fare elsewhere not far away. Quality is not really good nor bad, but the food tasted soulless(what does that even mean?! I dunno, like it was out of a production line perhaps). Portions are average sized. Of the leftovers we had, I didn’t have any desire to pack it to go. Virtually no service when dining in while staff were goofing off playing cards at a table. One upside is that this restaurant is very spacious and would be a good place to hang out for a while. It‘s also roomy enough so that even a full house wouldn’t be too noisy. Overall, it wasn’t terrible but nothing stood out as good.

Not too bad, Weifeng tasted kinda homey. Not a lot to choice on menu and The portion is small for the price. Taiwainese food should taste better than this!

Disappoint, disappoint and disappoint. I cannot be so stupid enough to believe the photos from the menu and crush me totally! The $$ not equal the food quality. Please remember those menu photo is not for you to believe. After the food on my table, tiny chicken, chewing meat, plan flavor and more let me think the price is for born in Canada’s asian people(maybe!!) or for who have no idea of the asian food will be. I am stupid enough to pay that price and give it try, because I am from Asia. I get to save all my money and back to Asia to enjoy the real gourmet. NOT in this store, ever!

Got the teriyaki chicken sub, teriyaki in name only. Some sort of flavorless processed chicken patty, two paper-thin slices of near-frozen tomato, half of a wilted lettuce leaf. $ 7 for this garbage? never again. Subway would be way better than cardboard and wilted weeds served here. Will stick with my fave bahn mi sandwich shop on Robson. AVOID!!!

This review is just for the bubble tea. It is not bad, if I come by another time thirsty I will stop by for a quick drink!

I keep coming back because I live like 1 minute away. I love their shrimp shumai, it’s soft and tender and not overcooked, and the little sauce it comes with is delish! I had the pork shumai, not so good :( Shrimp noodles are okay, need more flavour and more shrimp. Beef dumplings were hard and a bit overdone. I’ve had a ffee other dishes and they are good but not great. I recommend they take a bit more time in perfecting the craft of spices and flavouring, a lot of the food is just a bit bland. But as far as taiwanese goes, its alright. The family that runs it a very nice, quick, and hospitable. I’d probably come more often if not for the music and the fact that they blocked off the tv! Good clean restaurant, good atmosphere, but empty.

this(taiwanese?) take on chinese and japanese cuisine is suitable for tight budgets, but if one were to compare with authentic competitors– even at similar price points– weifeng would still not be on anyone’s top lists. Marks for not being dirty, and the efforts toward customer service. The cuisine: I had a pork combo set meal, including chicken leg and can coke. The steamed cabbage was nearly cold, the pork overcooked and nearly flavorless, but at least the rice wasn’t too dry. My wife’s teriyaki chicken was swimming in its sauce!

I’m no connoisseur, but I like this place for what it is. Convenient, cheap, quick. I’ve tried their spring rolls before and wasn’t disappointed. Tonight I had their Szechuan spicy noodles with chicken instead of pork and a mango bubble tea. The gentleman at the counter was very patient and kind to explain the different types of bbt and even let me try a few grass jelly bubbles. This is probably my second or third time trying bbt, mostly because it’s milk and I don’t like milk much, though it doesn’t stop me from drinking my lattes. The flavour I opted for was mango. This didn’t taste like milk, and was basically a smoothie without the icy coldness. And with coconut jelly chunks. I live in the building connected to it and the tea was gone by the time I got to my unit. Got home, cracked open the noodles. They’re good! Szechuan must have peanuts? It’s a thick creamy nutty sauce and they aren’t afraid to load on the spice– which I really appreciate! I got about two servings which I could eat all at once if I’m really hungry, but tonight I’m not, so I’ll get the other half for lunch tomorrow. And all this for about $ 11(pre tip). Not bad as downtown vancouver takeout goes. I usually spend double that on dinners.

Not the worst but the not the best. If you stick to the basic bubble tea flavours, you won’t be disappointed. Then again, at $ 4.45 for a honey milk tea with pearls, I’m not quite sure how to feel other than a little ripped off.

Went here last night as me and my fiancé just finished our engagement photos and we were starving. We ordered the kung pow chicken, and peppered beef and it was absolutely disgusting. Not only that but I’m as sick as a dog today because of that food. Horrible place. Please everyone needs to stay away. Ownership needs to be changed, this place could be good but the quality of everything is so bad.

I have been going to Weifeng for the past month or so on a very regular basis for simple rice dishes and bubble tea only on two occasions. The service here has always been their strength as their food is mediocre at best. Sorry guys, but it’s obvious that the quality of ingredients is lower than that of «mall food». Chicken is always spongey and the meat portions are always skimpy. One time I ordered a large wonton soup for $ 6.50 and when it arrived I had to ask them if it was indeed the large and not the small. Despite the lack of quality I had been going here during breaks at work as the only competition is 7 – 11. I wouldn’t be writing this review if it were not for what happened yesterday: I was in the washroom and I heard someone knocking on the door so I said«Hello?», and then would hear a muffled response. This happened about 5 times in a span of 3 – 5 minutes. I was pretty angry by this point. Then as I was washing my hands and one of the staff members unlocked the door and opened the door only to say«oh, it’s you.» I shut the door in his face and got my coat on and went to the front counter where he was. He said that he didn’t know it was me in there because he didn’t see me enter the store on the camera and that they had an issue with someone injecting drugs in there before. I explained to him why they can’t barge in on their customers in the bathroom and he persisted in telling me that he had to because it was for their security and safety. Absolutely appalled by this, I simply walked out of the restaurant. I will never return and will tell everyone about this horrible experience.

I had the Mapo Tofu combo dish for dinner. Hmmm… I have to admit I was trying to really like this place! 1. It’s really close to where I live. 2. It’s cheap… $ 10 for the combo dish with a pop! 3. There were 3 babes sitting at the next table! Haha. But unfortunately I have to give it 2 stars! The food was so so! I’ve had Mapo tofu often! It’s never tasted like it did at this place… A kind of bitter salty flavor. Hard to describe. All I can say is I won’t order that again! I think this place is a small family run business. They don’t focus on their food offerings; they just think we have a good location and that should be good enough. They’re wrong! Probably explains why the place is so empty! I’m not a bbt fan but I’ll give it a try one day! Worth going back to see if those babes are back! Haha

I’ve only gotten a couple things other than bubble tea here before. They weren’t anything to write home about, but they were tasty and filled me up. The bubble tea is awesome though — decent prices and a ton of selection. The staff is always super friendly also.

It’s not bad. Not many taiwanese-oriented food in this area. Bubble tea is decent. Low prices. Friendly staff. Reasonably fast.

It’s sad because as the other review mentioned I don’t think this restaurant will be around for much longer though I wish it doesn’t shut down. I actually like coming here for quick Taiwanese food! I like their number 5 combo which has fish, rice and soup for $ 10 which is pretty reasonable. The food is not so salty and I believe MSG free! It’s always sparkly clean and hardly anyone there any given time, so I like how I can enjoy some quiet time. Definitely fast food quality, but I like it for the convenience and would try other items! +1 star for great service!

I’ve been meaning to check this place out ever since it opened… Bubble Tea in Yaletown, finally! On a cold night, a hot Taro bubble tea sounded like the perfect idea. The drink itself was surprise… Usually when I order taro all I taste is taro and milk but there was definitely a strong«tea» flavour which was tasty. Unfortunately, «hot» was actually«lukewarm»… I look forward to going back to try the food menu as well!

I read the reviews of this place and I hesitated going in but the lure of bubble tea was too much to refuse or ignore. So I had to go in and get an egg pudding bubble tea. And I am happy to say I liked it! It wasn’t too sweet and it was quite tasty. It’s been awhile since I’ve had bubble tea and it was satisfying. The guy at the till was helpful and didn’t make me feel bad about using my credit card on a $ 4.00 purchase. I am so glad that I decided to give this place a chance and I know I will be coming back for more!

This is the worst bubble tea we have ever had in our lives. My friend walked past this place and got us bubble tea to bring back to my nearby apartment. When I tried his slushee bubble tea, I couldn’t even tell what the flavour was because it was so bland and diluted and sour. I guessed lime or kiwi, because it was so sour, but I was wrong with both. It was mango. The worst part were the bubbles which were disgustingly over boiled and mushy, instead of the way it should be — a chewy, tapioca consistency. Meanwhile, my hot strawberry«milk» tea with lychee jelly tasted really artificial but overly sweet. So now, instead of catching up after months apart, we are spending our evening on Unilocal, reviewing these awful drinks. An absolute waste of $ 7.64. If there were any redeeming qualities, at least the staff members were pleasant. Better luck next time, to whoever will take over this place … which I hope is soon.
