WOOF! Dog Shoppe

We love Woof! The best little dog shop around. It is SMALL but they do an amazing job with what they’ve got. Grooming is great– we have had two dogs groomed there, including one puppy having his very first bath, and both came out of it happy and eager to return.
Large array of treats and chews at competitive prices for the quality. We bought bully sticks from here and the big chain store, and even though the other place was cheaper, our dog went through the cheap ones 3 times faster.
And little dog daycare has been a lifesaver for us and our puppy. Even when we walk by when it’s closed he tries to go in and sit at the door.
The staff and owner are amazing. They are happy to help and give advice, as well as can give you great referrals to other pet services like training.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
Yuki believes in selling dog food/​treats that she’d consider giving her own dogs. So if you’re expecting the same brands you’d find at Petsmart, you’ll be quite disappointed. She has different options for your dog and treats too!
I love coming in here and seeing what different type of treats I can buy this time. She’s now had ostrich jerky sticks, camel jerky sticks, etc.
My favorite is Toenail Tuesdays for $ 7. My dog HATES getting her nails trimmed and after trying to do it at home and suffering far too many scratches and anxiety over cutting her quick, the compromise was letting Yuki suffer with me: D

I love coming to the shop. The staff is very knowledgeable and treat my dog like family. I also love that they sell Canadian products. The owner was extremely helpful when I decided to switch my dog to a raw food diet. She gave me a ton of stuff to read and was really helpful through every step of the process.

Took our 12 year Bichon there yesterday and was absolutely amazed at the transformation of our little prince. He had clearly been transformed into a KING! We are here from Winnipeg for the winter and believe me this place is SUPERIOR. The groomer named Sue is ‘bar none’ the best. She is thorough, personable and clearly an artist at heart. All I can say is ‘lucky Vancouver’!

I took my senior female bichon fries to Sue at Woof for a complete grooming. It was our first time there… Sue was very thorough with all of my dog’s health information, personality and spent lots of time discussing how I wanted her groomed. puppy coat, etc. (even recommended a nice place to eat nearby!) Sue also called during the grooming process with a question about my dog’s tottery leg, which was much appreciated.
the grooming was more than I expected! right on quote, and a fabulous job. My dog was happy as a clam, she looks fantastic, and even 4 weeks later I have people ooing and awing about how great she looks. I have never had so many compliments on my dog, who I think is pretty fantastic. but strangers stopping to take her picture, or asking to touch her? I will definitely be back! (Sue also gave me some appreciated health tips for my bichon fries. always appreciated. as she shows the breed herself. my funny little companion looks like Best of Show! thanks Sue.

I took my dog to Woof some time back with a Groupon promotion or some such and have been back ever since. Sue is a terrific groomer in my book.

They have gotten in new raw foods and I’m thrilled! I’ve also taken my dog and cat in to get groomed in the last and have had awesome results. My cat even enjoyed herself there! Crazy!

This is a great friendly place to buy things for your dog. I have been popping into the store since it first opened. Yuki tries to vary the selection; so there is always something new to look at when you go shopping. She has also special ordered things that I have wanted. I find all the staff to be friendly although the groomers are usually too busy to chit chat.

My husband and I moved from Toronto to Vancouver in October and found WOOF as we were walking around our neighbourhood. Yuki, the store owner, is very friendly and helpful, and our pugs, Oscar and Grissom love visiting her store.
We have the pups groomed at WOOF almost every month and buy their food here too.
And if you love pugs, you have to visit this store because «Q» is the resident pooch and she is a gorgeous, teeny weeny black pug.
I highly recommend this store.

Horrible service from the chick named Camilla. I came in today to make a few purchases, and when I came in she just said «hi, can I help you with anything?» I told her that I was just browsing. She then just stood there staring at my dog in disgust, and she did not even bother to ask if my dog would like a treat or not. She just kept to herself and was stuffing her face with food, and could care less if we were going to make a purchase or not. We spent about 20 mins in the store because I had to figure out what to buy with the social shopper coupon, and mind you, it was hard to pick out the items I wanted since their selection of toys, treats and food are so limited… the most limited I have ever seen at a dog specialty store. I finally was able to pick what I wanted, and Camilla got off her lazy ass to scan the items, but she had no smile and she seemed really annoyed. I paid with visa and she just threw the receipt in the bag, without saying «thank you» or «have a nice day»… She was just soo focused on the customer that was behind me, it felt as if she wanted to shoo me away from the counter. I demanded a print out receipt, and she looked somewhat shocked, and was busy talking to the customer behind me. Maybe because the customer was Caucasian? Hmm… I wonder? She finally figured out how to print off the receipt, and all she said to me was «it would take awhile». I was like, «sure that’s fine». Her response to that was a smirk and she ignored me and she kept on conversing with the customer that was behind me. If I had known that the shop had such a pathetic selection of goods, I would not have purchased the social shopper coupon. Also, they sell a lot of expired dog food, supplements and treats, and so no wonder they offered a coupon, they just want to get rid of all the crap that they have in stock. Camilla fails in customer service 101, she is rude, unfriendly, grouchy and she does not try to know her customers, and to me she seemed like she was prejudice against my ethnic background. Sorry but you cannot do business like that, especially when Vancouver is full of dog specialty shops that are located literally, almost everywhere. I can see why they do not sell a lot of products because people would not venture in for such poor customer service and for expired goods. I would definitely go to bow wow haus on 4^th or bow wow haus on broadway for quality dog items then to set foot in this establishment again. I am now going to ask for a refund for my social shopper coupon. This place would most likely close down real soon. Never again!

Woof has been a great addition to the neighborhood! Camilla and Yuki are so helpful. They always have a treat for Lucky and are on hand to give advice.

I moved from Toronto to Downtown Vancouver and was recommended to come here for grooming. At the time I wondered why they didn’t suggest a place downtown, but now I know!
Sue is the resident groomer (which I love, don’t like it when it keeps changing) and she is gentle and thorough– and my dog is not the cuddly, happy-to-get-left-at-the-groomer’s type… think more 6lbs of fluffy rage.
Even if I’d lived in Kitsilano, I think it would have been easy to pass by this charming little store, so very happy I was told about this place!

I just brought in my Shih Tzu to the lovely ladies at Woof! After being highly recommended to do so. First of all it was a cute little neighborhood store and lots of pooches very excited to be in visiting. My dog has a very recent spinal cord injury and needed some pampering and extra special care. The groomer came out and discussed the injury and how she would work with my dog to make sure she was comfortable. She informed me of her expirience with injured dogs and I left feeling overly confident that Baby Woo was in awesome hands. When I got the call to pick her up 1.5 hrs later, so happy it wasn’t an all day event like other places, I rushed down. She looked fabulous! Her cut was great and she smelled wonderful and she strutted out like a little princess. Thank you ladies for the wonderful care. We will definately be back.

Cut our lil guy’s nails too short 2x! Blood all over our light coloured couch it was awful. I know mistakes happens but on 2 different visits it happened and they didn’t even warn us. Also, I had to fix his ears myself:(

We love taking our puppy to Woof! We first found Woof on the recommendation of another dog owner in our neighborhood. Our puppy was 4 months old when we took him for his first appointment. Sue the groomer was so patient with him and he looked so handsome when he was done. We’ve gone there 2 other times since then and have had great experiences each time. The last time we were there, our little guy’s fur was very matted down (from a summer of playing in the water and sand at the beach) Sue patiently worked on him for over 4.5 hours and we couldn’t be happier! We’re going back for another appointment this week. Our pup is looking forward to seeing Sue, Yuki and Q again!

I discovered this little store in my neighbourhood earlier this summer and every time I pop in it reinforces how much I like it. The first time I needed to get some kitty litter. Yuki (who I think is the owner) gave me advice on the few brands she carries and each of their pros and cons. While there I noticed dogs coming in for grooming. My Sheltie is 9 and had never had a professional grooming. I decided it was time for some doggy pampering and booked an appointment. That experience was also stellar and I’ll definitely be taking Angelina. She has a double fur coat and the groomer got out a ton in two hours! At $ 25/​hr it’s worth not having to vacuum every day now that so much excess fur is gone. This last visit I needed kitten food and once again Yuki had great advice. Her selection of brands is small but she focuses on nutrition. Prices seem reasonable but probably not if you’re used to shopping at Costco. I don’t have room for 50 kilo bags of pet food in our condo and I’m not overly concerned about getting the best price for my pet food. As I was trying out a new brand of kitten food I bought two one-​pound bags of different flavours and they were $ 3.99 each. The bigger bags were more economical. Other than grooming services they also offer a U-​Wash option. It definitely has a neighbourhood feel to it as I bump into people I recognize from walking the dog. When I left today, Yuki called me by name as she was saying goodbye. For a small store catering to dogs and cats I couldn’t ask for anything more.
