Zac’s cooking school specialize in learning to cook in a fun and non-threatening environment. Zac’s run scheduled classes which can range in theme from anything like traditional french cooking, curries of the world, cake decorating, or knife skills (any level).
Especially popular for classes most nights of the year, Zac’s cooking school also run cooking classes as team building or party events. A cooking lesson also makes an entertaining night out with friends, or a wonderful gift for a friend or significant other!
History
Established in 2008.
Zac’s Cooking School started out doing catering and personal cooking within the homes of its clients. From there, customers were asking more and more to be shown how to cook some of their favourite dishes. And from there, they ran their first demonstration classes toward the end of 2008 (a proper kitchen where students cook their own food was still a few months off by then!).
Today, Zac’s is more about making the food prep as fun and educational as possible.

I worked as a cook and a chef in Melbourne, Australia for 8 years before moving to Vancouver. After working as a sous chef and a pastry chef in various restaurants throughout the city, I started cooking privately for dinner parties and people who wanted a personal chef within their own home. From there, the idea of showing others how to prepare their own food became an interest and something people were quite willing to have me do. And so the progression to opening a cooking school seemed like a great step — and it‘s a lot of fun!
