We’ve been where you are now. And we know finding the best culinary school for you will impact everything. So no detail was overlooked when we created Northwest. Our curriculum reflects the region’s appetite for innovation and curiosity. Much like an independent chef-​owned restaurant, we freely implement our ideas without corporate resistance. This means we can achieve for you what chefs strive to achieve for their patrons: a personalized experience like no other.

Vancouver boasts more culinary schools per capita than any city in the world. Yet we built Northwest in 2004 to fill a gap, with a different vision from the traditional model. First and foremost, we don’t view our students as «kids» in any shape or form. As one of the very few chef-​owned culinary schools in the world, we opted to shift to a much needed adult-​oriented, collaborative educational model, basing all our decisions on one simple question: how will it benefit mature, responsible, intelligent learners?

History

Established in 2004.

Northwest was established in 2004 and has taught more than 1000 professional and 2000 amateur cooks.
