Octo-BBQ @ Boneyard Grill

Yet again, Kris has filled our tummies and satiated our thirst for trying something new.
PROS:
+PARKING: everywhere! Sweet.
+AREA: I’ve never given the Promenade Mall area a second thought, it was interesting to see the new strip of businesses that have found a new home in the vicinity.
+DECOR: The restaurant has a small narrow hallway of booths and tables. It adds to the coziness of the place.
+FOOD: Colossal onions, ribs, the food consisted mostly of finger foods. It was scrumptious.
+DRINKS: It isn’t a party until we have a few drinks! Thank you steam whistle for graciously sponsoring our evening sips and offering free tours at your Toronto facility.
CONS:
–W/​R: One washroom per gender? That’s inconvenient. There was a line for the guy’s washroom too (how often do you see that).

Five outta five.
Free steam whistle tour passes, ribs galore, wings, burgs, coconut shrimp and tons of dipping sauces.
I ate and drank to my heart’s content.
It was great to catch up with some Unilocal friends and of course, see our CM, Kris.
Plus I won a $ 20 gift card!

I had an awesome time. Really. How could you not?!

I have finally awoken from the food induced coma this event brought on and all I have to say is WOW! Possibly the best food spread of any elite event to date!
It just didn’t stop, plate after plate of BBQ’ed or deep fried goodies for us Unilocalers to stuff our faces with. Amazing ribs, out of this world coconut shrimp, lightly battered fried onion, homemade sliders and the piece de resistance the pulled pork sandwiches. By far the single greatest pulled pork sandwich I have ever had, juicy, tender, smoky and not overly sweet, topped with fried onion strings on a fresh bun, simply outstanding.
Thank you so much to the Boneyard Grill for being such amazing hosts, I will definitely be back for some life changing pulled pork. Thanks to Steamwhistle for quenching our thirst. Well done Kris, well done!
Can’t wait to see all the amazing Unilocalers at the next event!

Another great event, thanks to Kris and the staff at Boneyard. The seating was a tad tight and with all the servers moving around, there wasn’t a ton of space to walk around. And that’s possibly why I am taking a star off. Everything else was top-​notch, especially the friendly servers and the amazing food.
I love that the servers were playing fair and trying to get food to every table. It’s not easy when everyone inclusive of myself is so very grabby at an event like this. So a big shout out to them. I didn’t get to try the shrimp really; my boyfriend let me take a bite of his and it was yummy. Wish I had some more. However, our table got wings and ribs aplenty. And I was lucky to grab a pulled pork slider — LOVED IT.
Overall, Boneyard Grill has proved what it has to offer and I can’t wait to come back!

And… another five stars for a fun evening of awesome food and great company!
Steam Whistle always does a great job of quenching the thirst of our beer-​drinking Unilocaler friends. Free passes for the tour? Don’t mind if I do! Thank you!
Although there were only two servers, they made sure the food kept coming out at a steady pace. Fried shrimp, onion strings, beef sliders, pulled pork sandwiches with onion strings, ribs, wings,… Did I try everything? I think so. They really put in a lot of effort that evening. They even took our non-​alcoholic drink requests.
Since the restaurant consisted of smaller booths and tables, I was able to have some amusing conversation with some people I have only really crossed paths with. Sure, we all say «hey how are things going?» oftentimes but it was cool to really get to know them.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to the tipping jar and believed that I wasn’t going to run away with it. :)

Thanks for a great event Kris, and to all the staff! Nearly everything was perfect — great servers, lots of food and drink, great atmosphere, good location with lots of parking — what more to say!
In my typical nature I like to also suggest anything that could be improved, and I scratched my head over this but in the end I’d probably have to say the sliders were a bit dry, with the meat on the over-​ground/​over-​processed side. But it’s a minor quip, since the wings and ribs were phenomenal, as was the pulled pork and the shrimp. Every the Beatles had bad songs, so I won’t let a single dish out sway me below 5 stars this time, especially since the staff was so great.
Sorry couldn’t say hi to more of you — I guess a seated-​style event makes us slightly less mingly, so will say hello next time. Will definitely be back, especially since I won a voucher (but I would’ve come back anyways.)!

SUPER YUMMY AND AMAZING EVENT! We will definitely be coming back. The servers were so nice and cheerful the whole evening. Excellent service.
I don’t know where to begin as the food was absolutely deliciousssss! Loved the coconut shrimp with the dipping sauces. The Onion String (?)/​Fries were interesting. I’m usually not a onion person but ate it anyway! I’m also not much of a pork person but the ribs were sooo good. Prob. the best I’ve ever had. They almost slid off the bone and it was easy to chew & tasted so delightful! I had two! :D The mini burger was juicy & sliders were awesome!
Thank you also to Steam Whistle for providing the beer! Yummy good!
In addition to the delish food & excellent service, the prices at Boneyard are also very reasonable so we are definitely coming back again soon!

Awesome event as always. Steam Whistle on tap is always awesome too!
The waitresses were kind enough to start spreading food around starting at the back and were quite attentive as well.
Everything tasted great, ribs, chicken wings and pulled pork were all on point!

Thanks to Kris and everyone @ Boneyard Grill who planned this awesome and delicious evening! Never would have discovered this area had it not been for Unilocal!I had a lot of fun discovering more great places to get good BBQ food. The staff were super nice and the night felt so relaxed/​easy going.

What a fun and belly filling event! The coconut shrimp, onion rings (it was soooo good), ribs, wings, sliders and pulled pork sandwiches were awesome. Loved the food here and the company ;) Also, the staff was on top of their game! They asked us what we haven’t tried yet and they remembered all our drinks. I’ll definitely be coming back here again when I’m around the area. Thank you Kris for another awesome event! See you all at the next one!

Unilocal events thrown in GTA are always good times and this was no exception. Food tasted great and most, if not all, would agree there was adequate amount of food and booze that kept the party going.
Kris did an amazing job and kudos to Boneyard and their servers that provided exceptional services! And of course steam whistle that fueled the crowd!

This was my second elite event but first sit down, just food event. No complaints here! My boyfriend and I were introduced to another couple by Kris, they were really great, made us laugh a lot! We really enjoyed this event.
I didn’t get to try the shrimp but that was just a small loss, as we got triple of almost everything else! I loved the onion rings and my man loved the pulled pork sliders! Top all of this off with unlimited Steam Whistle and what more can a girl ask for?
I also won a gift card in the raffle for Boneyard Grill, so I will be seeing the friendly staff very soon! Awesome, just awesome!

What an amazing event! I’ve always wanted to come here, I always passed by when heading to the promande mall. So glad Unilocal decided to host an event here. Now I’ll definitely have to come back! Where do I start? I loveeeeee the food! And so glad steam whistle came out as well. I’m not a beer person but I love their beer! I will be going for their tour for sure!
They had amazing baby back ribs, chicken wings, fries, they also had amazing sliders. I could keep eating those!

+1 for the night. But incredible event as always as it’s my fourth Unilocal event. Awesome food and beer. Pulled pork, ribs, wings, coconut shrimp, fried onion and of course Steam Whistle beer. What more is there not to love. Will definitely come to visit again.

A lot of meat BBQ Unilocal event! I am still stuffed lol. The servers brought us food the whole time. I was fed with very delicious wings (they were really good), crispy onion pull pork burger (yummy), beef burger (awesome) and ribs (so fresh). Free Steam Whistle beer. Exciting lucky draw though I was not one of the lucky ones. What can I say? It is of course another excellent Unilocal event. Thanks Boneyard Grill for the awesome meat (food/​beer). Thanks the very friendly and sweet servers. Most importantly, my big thanks again to the handsome Kris U:)

I had arrived before the set up was complete so Kris sent me over to Starbucks where I had a really comfortable seat and I was so comfortable I ended up being late for the BBQ. The place was packed by the time I had arrived so I walked around to see if there were any familiar faces and I saw Namrata who was kind enough to make room for me to join.
I had grabbed a plate and immediately the food started to come around like it was a Brazilian meat extravaganza except there was no red card and the meat just kept on coming like it was the end of the world and we were feasting like it.
Admittedly I had just seen the documentary called Forks over Knives and it makes for a great case of not eating animals, dairy or eggs. If I was going to go that route this BBQ would have been the way to go out with a bang. Shrimp, ribs, burgers, pulled pork, wings OMG did I just die and go to meat heaven? My favorite item was definitely the pulled pork sliders with onion straws inside. That I would love to have the non slider version.
Boneyard Grill… I had never known of the place but now I know. The service was wonderful as the servers simply couldn’t do enough for us. The Steamwhistle was blowing like the endless fountain and it was an all around great time with great people. I was able to finally meet some of my fellow elites and it was a blast.
Kris, I salute you and in the eternal words of the former governator of the state of California…“I’ll be BACK”.
