Baggins

I was in town for the weekend and saw ads for this store and had to pay them a visit. I’m a big fan of converse and already own several pairs. I showed up at their old location and some nice young man pointed me in the right direction towards their new location. I was not disappointed! They had a wide variety of styles and colors of Converse and Vans including Herschel Backpacks. The store was packed with customers but the staff always made sure you were taken care of. I was impressed. It was difficult to decide on a color and style. I wanted to buy the whole store! :-)

Love the new location! The layout is much better, and I love the colour selection. The hard part is choosing which shoe to get! I love the custom shoe idea, I’m definitely going to try that out next.

I had been to this center of the Chuck Taylors universe once about 10 years ago and was so looking forward to writing a great review of it but after stopping into their new store today, my feelings are, well, mixed.
The new location is bright and airy, not as dense and homey as the other one, kind of bummed about that. Staffers were super nice and could guess our shoe size just by looking at our feet… that was cool, like their x-​men power is to be able to judge foot size.
Selection of designs of chucks and Vans are extraordinary and you can get custom designed chucks for $ 100 Canadian. Actually they also had some sweet sales going on for lots of other styles too.
The big bummer was the availability of styles I liked in my size, which one of the x-​men employees correctly deduced was 13. There were only a few styles in my size and I wasn’t particularly interested in any of them because I can find them anywhere… the kind employee said that they rarely have 13’s except in the standard styles.
Well, drat it all to heck. Baggins was at the top of my list for this trip and I left empty handed. Sigh.
At this point I should make some reference to cursing Bagginses for stealing my precious but I have too much dignity for that. Maybe I can go back and get something for my nephew and niece.
