Worse meal I ever had. The burger made me and my girlfriend Ill. Two separate meals, just horrible. Will never go back.

We were in the mood for burgers, and this place had great reviews. The mushroom burger and black & blue burger were well composed and tasty. Try the red onion rings as a side.

Senicas celebratory-UVic-BA-aced-with-distinction-dinner choice, and she was, as I knew she would be, totally on the money about this place. The place is clean. The ambiance is flat. Don’t let that mislead. These burgers are masterful! And interesting. Service was great. The local craft beer: Blue Buck from Phillips Brewery(btw, Vancouver Island is a treasure trove of micro brewery gems) was creamy smooth and flavourful and tasted like beer. Perfect, as I prefer beers that taste like beer. =D.(Progeny was one of the best decisions of life_missed so much in my own chaotic youth: «its an island» —hello, of course«bear» implied — -when I marvelled at the breadth of choice of beer here) Our burgers: my choice Bin 96, The Bison Burner; rangeland bison =D –my Winnipeg, early roots calling-, 5 year aged cheddar, crispy onion, house made hot sauce, butter lettuce and tomato with fries and salad was superb, as was Senicas Bin 27, The Bistro; free run chicken breast(good size), creamy brie, top notch bacon, and delightful garnishes with salad and fries. Ordered the wild mushroom gravy side, and our burgers came with sides of tasty dips of our choosing. Total tongue buds bliss! Check it on your next trip to pretty Victoria.

Bin 4 after 9pm is where it’s at! I’m a big fan of gourmet burgers from places like Red Robins, but there’s something about the decadence of Bin 4 burgers that I was really impressed with! Could be the soft brioche bun, or the combination of savoury sauces, including garlic aioli and balsamic onion jam, or the melted double cream brie cheese… but whatever it is, it’s working! I ordered The Bistro and it was a great choice! The chicken was nice and tender, and everything from the bacon to the lettuce and tomatoes and all the ingredients I raved about above made for a burst of flavour in each bite. For my side, I ordered the house made spiced potato chips with truffle aioli, both paired well together and I was happy with how the chips were nice and crispy and not smothered in oil. For my drink, I ordered the Berry Iced Tea. It was refreshing, however a little sugary from the sweeteners I assume. Most probably like it with a bit of sugar, however I like my iced teas more naturally brewed. Still a tasty drink that I would get again! For just over $ 11 for this meal(thanks to their late night half off promo), I am extremely satisfied and will definitely be back! Our server was also very friendly and took appreciation in the conversations and jokes we had with her. She was also very informative and enjoyed taking me step and step through menu decisions for sauces, possible substitutions, and drink choices. This was great, especially since it was a busy night for them!

I’m a fan of their onion rings in particular. I don’t usually go there at night, but they do have a half price burger special after 9 pm.

My issue is with the hostess up front. She was unnecessarily sassy and condescending. Boyfriend and I wanted to have some cheap burgers. She told us she wasn’t taking wait lists for another 8 minutes and that we should go to Moxie’s instead. We asked if we could stay and have a drink at the bar while we wait but that’s not allowed. Fine, we’ll take our money to Moxie’s instead then… We came back an hour later and asked to go on the wait list. She said«oh you didn’t want to wait 8 minutes so now you can wait 45!»…back to Moxie’s then. Willing to give the place another shot because everyone else seems to love it, but we aren’t pleased with how it’s run so far…

Bin 4 hates children. I can’t speak to their Goldstream location, but neither of the ones in town are places to take more than one child. I’ve now tried to eat here three times and every time we show up there isn’t a place to wait with children. You’re made to feel like you are in the way and not wanted. We won’t be back.

Bin 4 is amazing. The Burgers are ultimate food porn and the servers are so kind. Someone accidentally got seated before us and they gave us free desert!!!

Decent burgers with a good atmosphere although for a «gourmet» place they should ask you how you want your burger cooked. I find the meat is usually overcooked and it should be bursting with juice.

I have been a couple of times now as its right across the street. We usually go around 9pm when the burgers are ½ price. It was so busy the past weekend that the only seats we could get were at the bar but that was fine. We got to talk to the staff and enjoy the ever fantastic burgers. Special was a burger with pork belly, it was delicious. They make a pretty good Old fashion too. The thing they could improve upon is a reservation system for late night. As it is you show up and put your name on a list and then wait and wait… isnt this kind of like a reservation anyhow? Let me phone in my reservation, if I don’t show up ON time… give my seat away.

This past weekend was my bestie’s bachelorette party, a whirlwind 24 hours which started with lunch at Bin 4. I had heard so many good things about Bin 4(in addition to this being one of the bride’s favourite restaurants), so I was excited to try them out. I made a reservation for 7 of us about two or so weeks ago; the reservation started off larger before we had a few party goers not able to join us for lunch. I called back to reduce the reservation and the dude on the phone didn’t sound like he really heard what I was saying. BUT fear not — Bin 4 called to confirm our reservation a couple of days before, and they had the information right. Given that this was a special occasion, I really appreciated them confirming the reservation. We arrived around 11:45am with a nice table at their Yates Street location tucked just off their main entrance(off the Yates side, not the parking lot side). Already set with bottles of water and cute dishes(2) of their homemade chips. Wish there were more, but they were sure a good starter! We sat and waited 20 minutes for a straggler to join our group before ordering, but the server was good about checking to see if the girl had arrived. I wish I could remember her name, but she was totally«with it». Sometimes larger tables(though I don’t think 7 people is daunting) prove to be a challenge, but our server kept our orders straight(more on this later). After perusing the menu, I finally decided on their tofu burger. I’m not a vegan or vegetarian, but I knew our day would involve more food so I wanted to keep it light for lunch. I was also dying to try their fried pickles, and for only $ 1 extra you can do half salad or fries and half pickles. Score! Our food came in a timely manner once we ordered, and I REALLY appreciated that the servers who assisted in bringing the food knew exactly where to place each burger. I really dislike it when a large table has food come out and they just call out your meal like it’s roll call in school, and you stick up your hand when your name(or meal) is called. THANKYOUBIN4FORPROPERLYTRAININGYOURSTAFF! My tofu burger, which I opted to have on tender butter lettuce, was really unique. Two deep friend tofu pieces were on the lettuce leaves, topped with a delicious Asian-style ginger soy sauce and crispy wonton strips. I loved the play on flavours and textures, and with a lovely side salad and fried pickles, this burger was anything but boring. The fried pickles were delicious(especially with a spicy mayo dipping sauce) but they overdid it on the paprika and spice dusting the panko. Will I be back? Next time I am in Victoria, I’d absolutely return as long as time and appetite permits. I thought their pricing was very reasonable when you compare with other burger joints(including the underwhelming Red Robin). It’s important to also give credit to their above average ingredients they use(listing purveyors in their menu). Sure, the prices are somewhat up there, but you get what you pay for. PS: I loved that the owners acknowledge the comment card I completed, responding personally to me via email. I definitely want to spend my money, and satiate my appetite, at establishments that truly value their customers.

5 plus stars if not for stupid Canadian rules requiring burgers to be cooked well done. It’s not like Americans are dropping dead left and right from burgers(well at least not right away). Salad with the burger is 8 thumbs up. Salad was peach, goat cheese and arugula — Fabulous. Red onion rings were amazing. And the burger was really good for being well done. Also had a delicious marg. To quote my girlfriend«the kettle one was delish, as norm.» Go after 9 for half price!

During our stay in Victoria we were looking for a good burger place, and this one was pretty highly rated on Unilocal so we went in here. Service was great and our server was courteous and efficient. We ordered burgers named ‘The Bistro’ and ‘Ginger Soy Tofu’, along with cocktails and onion rings and french fries. Cocktails were good. The burgers were alright, I didn’t find them that great probably because my expectations were too high and I was expecting more of a «Red Robin» sort of affair, and hence giving them a star less. The location is a bit of a walk from the Inner Harbor near where we were staying.

The after 9 special is a great deal! We both completely stuffed ourselves and had a drink(one alcoholic) each for the low low price of $ 25 combined. Awesome. The burgers were gourmet with well thought out flavours. We were both really happy with our choices. I LOVED their potato chips. Super tasty– the small teaser on the table will definitely leave you wanting more! Make sure you’re there a little before 9 as the line can get pretty huge. Lots of people are clued in to the fact that Bin 4 after 9 makes a pretty good night out.

A year ago, I would’ve given Bin 4 a 5-star rating. Food quality seems to have slipped a bit since then — some visits have been good, but others rated only a solid«meh». Nowadays I stick to the basic burgers with minimal toppings, as those are consistently good. The specials can be hit-or-miss. I love that they experiment and occasionally offer elk, bison and game meats, but unfortunately they always overcook those. Still not a fan of the giant onion rings. Their size makes them hard to eat. They seem to get bigger and more greasy every time I order them. Recently the owners and crew have been focusing on opening the new Saanich location, so I suspect(and hope!) the dip in food quality is merely temporary. I do love Bin 4, it’s still a step up from all the other burger places in town… it’s just not the 5-star experience it used to be.

Best burger I’ve ever had!!! I had the wild mushroom burger –sooooo good. I wanted to take more home as leftovers but I kept taking one last bite. The chips were yum and the dips too! I had fries/rings mixed and also very very good! All meal components were the best or close to best I’ve ever had. I finished my leftovers at 6am the next morning and it started my day off right! :)

Bin there, done that, will be back. .… What a creative menu of burger options. Spiced potato chips upon arrival to our table with water in a bottle was a nice attention to detail. Good service on a busy day, too. I enjoyed Bin 4 — the«basic» burger — and added Hertel’s bacon and cheddar, plus mushroom gravy on the side for the fries. I like that there are a variety of substitutes and add-ons to your meal, including a free choice of house-made side sauce for your burger or dipping. The burger was delicious, not greasy/juicy — more on the dry side — which is my preference. I’d switch out the pale tomato slice for a slice of dill pickle in winter when we can’t get ripe, juicy local tomatoes. Ron said his lamb burger was perfectly cooked. The lime-tomatillo and chipotle bourbon BBQ sauces we shared were super! The fries were crispy out, moist in, but we got many of the end pieces and wished for some longer prospects. The house-made ketchup is to live for with its sweet tang. The mushroom gravy was robust and smooth, tasting like powdered dried porcini was keynote; Not necessarily wild, but delicious just the same.

An all-around good choice. I ordered the Bin 18 — Dirty Bourbon(subbed out chipotle aioli for garlic aioli), side of bacon mac and cheese(+$ 3), and stole some fries off my friends. If you’re not familiar with BC food laws, be warned that all establishments are required to cook ground beef well done. No, you don’t have a choice on this matter. The burger was good, though I could have used a bigger beef patty since the bun is wider than the meat. All of the side choices came in ample portions. I don’t think the mac and cheese was that great or worth an extra $ 3, I’d rather get the fries or chips next time. The fries are good, though I won’t go as far as other reviews to say they’re the best ever. I agree with other reviewers that the décor and ambiance could use work. The awkward red lighting for the patio is distracting to passersby and disguises the more appealing interior décor. The dining area at the back of the restaurant is too dark. I’m not even that old, and I had trouble reading my menu and evaluating the color of my food. On my next trip, I definitely want to check out the 9pm special. Everyday after 9pm, the special is 50% of all burger entrees with drink purchase(dine in only).
