The fish was delicious and perfectly crispy. I got halibut and my husband got haddock. We shared perfectly done fries at one of the outdoor tables. With prices being so reasonable and the atmosphere just what I’d expect from a little gem like this place, we will definitely be returning. Service was friendly. There were a lot of regulars in the store during our visit and we could tell the proprietor really cared about them because he asked them specific questions about how things were going. That really means a lot to me. We hope to be among those regulars soon enough as we will definitely return for more delicious fish n chips!

Number 1 fish and chips. Tarter sauce is amazing too. Been going here for over 6 years. Taste is consistant and delicious.

Nice crisp batter on fresh tasting fish, huge fry portions. A regular stop for us after a busy day. Burger is good too, they add sweet peppers though, get them to hold the peppers if that is not your taste.

I live in the neighbourhood and pop by once a month. Service is always friendly and efficient. Chips can be hit or miss(especially on Friday nights & Saturdays when the place is busy and they don’t have time to change the fryer oil as much) but the fish is consistently good — I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad piece of fish here. If you want something to eat on the go, get the deep-fried halibut strips, served in a handy newspaper cone… the perfect snack for walking along the beach! I’ve tried the burger and wasn’t keen. Stick with the fish & chips, it’s what they do best. Red Fish Blue Fish remains my #1 pick for freshness and quality, but Fairfield is a solid second place — and you don’t have to wait 45 minutes in line like at RFBF. Highly recommended.

Rock fish, halibut and chips Really good old fashioned fish’n’chips. We had our own homemade cole slaw and tartar sauce with it at home. Easy parking for a quick takeaway dinner.

I went here several years ago and it was pretty good, so I was looking forward to my return visit. As the other reviewers said, it’s a good thing to support a small local place like this and when I got my «to-go» order, it was wrapped in newspaper just like the real deal. Unfortunately, the portion size of the fish we got was unbelievably small — for $ 6 each we got a piece of halibut that was about the size of a 3“x5″ card, and not much thicker! If not for the huge portion of chips, I would have still been famished, but that hardly made up for the bite-size fish portions.

YUMYUMYUM! Crispy and delicious fish(we ordered the Halibut). I’m not a tartar sauce person but my husband loved it. The chips were great as well. My favorite part was that everything was wrapped in newspaper! We will definitely go back!

Ordered: Rock fish, Cod, coleslaw and onion rings. The rock fish and cod were terrific — moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. The onion rings were fresh made although I found the batter to be too heavy and a bit on the oily side. The homemade tartar sauce was outstanding — nice pickle flavours were mixed into the sauce. Coupled with a nice location and a cozy environment I rate this a must try at some point. The burgers are supposed to be superb but I haven’t tried it on either trip yet. I used to only care about the fisheries because I didn’t want to run out of imitation crab but not I also don’t want Fairfield to have no fish to sell.

Let me start off by saying I LOVE Fish and Chips. I’ve eaten them, alot, too much you might say, okay you WOULD say if you met me, but I need to say this so you KNOW that I know Fish and Chips. The place is small, I mean really small, two chairs and table outside and counter seating inside. It’s best if you can get your newspaper packaged meal and head to Dallas road and park, which is literally two or three blocks away. They serve a lot of different kinds of fish, they have some meal deals going on, and they even have a hamburger that’s incredible if you are just not a fish fan. The small fries is enough to feed three people, so it’s important to know that up front. The batter is… well it’s magical, i don’t even know how to describe it, light, crispy and not too thick. The prices are amazing, I mean really, really good. And I would not be exaggerating when I say in my opinion it’s the best fish and chips in town. GO there and please, tell me what you think. There are fancier places, but no where with quite the same flavor and value combination exists on this Island!
