The first time I went to Noodle box in Langford I was pleased with the atmosphere, the concept, the food and the service. I now have been 3 times in a month at Uptown location and every time I was disappointed. My friend’s dish(Singapore cashew curry) was spicy but tasteless, she had to add a lot of lime juice and soy sauce to jazz it up. I ordered the veggie gyoza and got the meat ones. The tom yom soup used to be HUGE and tasty. Forget it. Finally, the stupid LOUD reggae music is always blasting amidst the CONSTANT, overly exaggerated and useless clanking of the woks and pans. It makes you wonder if they don’t do it on purpose to annoy people. The good news is that I won’t be missing noodle box when I leave Victoria!

The food is consistently decent, but I can’t handle the wait anymore. Tonight was kind of a last straw. It was a 30 minute wait, so I walked out and ran an hour of errands, then tried again. It was a 40 minute wait. Walked out. I seem to walk out more than I actually get food. Instead, I went to a far better authentic Thai place, ordered, got home and was eating before I would have even had a Noodle Box order in my hands. They can’t handle the demand. Sorry to say.

Good food, too noisy. The food was good and took about 15 minutes to received after ordering. But, with the noise from the kitchen and the music volume waaay too loud it was very difficult to have a conversation with my lunch buddy. Perhaps we were supposed to both be on our cell phones and not having a face to face conversation’

Good food, terrible service. Don’t bother ordering to-go food from here. If you order to eat in, the wait is 10 min, if it’s to-go it’s 30min??? And if you phone in your order 45min??? And that’s their policy? What ever happened to first come first serve? I understand waiting when a restaurant is busy but when it’s empty??? Staff are rude and unapologetic about there awful wait times. Never ordering from them again.

Finally got back for lunch after a long hiatus. Had the Cambodian Spring Rolls with Nuoc Cham dipping sauce and the Black Bean and Garlic Stirfry with prawns and Hokkien noodles. Wow! Fantastic! The Spring rolls were delicious — freshly cooked, crisp on the outside with decent portions of pork on the inside. Dipping sauce was amazing. The Stirfry was outstanding. Huge portion, lots of prawns(approximately 8), lots of perfectly cooked peppers, sprouts and Asian greens and ample supply of delicious black bean & garlic sauce. The Stirfry was $ 12.50 which I think is reasonable given the size and quality of the dish. Spring rolls around $ 4 — again fair given the quality. Service was also fast and friendly and attractive. The menu had many other appealing options as well, that I look forward to trying on future visits. Can’t wait to return! Noodle Box is the reigning Champ and puts Foo to shame for near identical price point. Keep up the good work Noodle Box!

I’ve been here 5 times and can confidently give it a mediocre 2 stars. Consistent in my experience every time: — At least a 20 minute wait and sometimes 30 for takeout. Even for non peak hours, the wait is brutal. — Request for non-spicy always results in very spicy. I wonder if they even clean their woks after every dish or if it’s just permanently lined with pepper? — Severe lack of taste in every dish I’ve tried. Especially the fried rice which simply tastes like rice and a lot of pepper. The«Asian inspired» dishes they have on the menu should be bold in flavour but fall very flat. Maybe they should revisit their recipes but I guess authentic is not what they are going for anyways. I will not be returning to this place.

The new cooks are doing OK. Service was fast and friendly. As for wheelchair access, the washrooms were OK and there are smaller table at the back past the booths that are easy enough to reach. I liked this place and see it as a healthier alternative to the regular fast-food fare.

Good tasting stir fry, huge portions, friendly staff, our meal started off so well. Our shared bowl of pork spicy peanut noodles unfortunately brought on a serious bought of food poisoning. I will spare you the details. Needless to say, I am horribly disappointed and we cannot return to that location. Somebody isn’t washing properly in there.

I used to really love eating at the noodle box but the last few times at this location in particular, I have been let down. Dishes lack sauce and flavour for the $$$ you pay. First off, it took almost 40 minutes. The girl taking my order let me know that it might take that long so I was ok waiting as I was anticipating that I would have a really yummy dish to chow down on. Unfortunately, I was VERY disappointed. I ordered ‘pad thai’ to go with extra add ons(i was wanting a combo of prawns, chicken, tofu) that I paid extra for turning a $ 13.00 dish into over a $ 20.00 dish. When I went to pick it up, my food was on a plate under the heat warmer and they forgot it was to go. No big deal, they packed it to go. but when I got to my hotel, The noodles were dry, not one prawn to be found, and flavour wise, it was not pad thai in the least. :( When I called to let them know I was disappointed, she wanted to argue with me saying i ordered extra chicken instead of prawns. I didn’t have time to wait another 40 minutes for the right order so I told them that I would eat the cost and that I wouldn’t return there again. So sorry!

I love Noodle Box, just not the Uptown location. I have been there around 10 times and maybe 3(which is pushing it) of the ten times I went to the uptown location the food was good. The first few times I went I didn’t like it at all. One time I there was an onion peel in my bowl, which wasn’t very appetizing. Since then they have changed the chefs a bit and the most recent tie I went to this location the food was pretty good, it came fast and there was no onion peels/skins… As far as I know.

This place was recommended for their excellent and innovative noodle dishes. but sadly, it was neither. Our family got 4 different noodle dishes and all of them lacked flavor and consistency. Probably the worst meal we had in Victoria… Definitely will not return to any of their locations.

Food isn’t too bad, but poor wait times and poor service.
