this was my first time coming to a noodlebox establishment and I have to say I was pretty impressed. not that i have a vast knowledge or really knowledge at all on Asian cuisine. the service was a little slow– the lady who was taking our order was very nice and personable, but she was looking behind me which was a little uncomfortable. the wait was around 10 – 15 minutes for our food and it was mildly busy. but they do cook you fresh food and that is worth waiting for sure. food is favourable and the portions are large. would recommend sharing if you don’t have a big appetite like me. overall a good experience at noodlebox!

I try to eat here as often as possible. The food is always so fresh and perfectly cooked, And I have a pretty specific list of instructions on my noodles and the staff are always so courteous and never fail to make me happy.

My third time in Victoria and I never went out to eat! We were walking around the chilly streets on a Sunday night looking for something good to eat and stumbled upon Noodlebox. Asian fusion? NOODLES? Sold. BLACKBEANANDGARLIC — My first impression on reading this bowl was the korean black bean noodles zazangmyeon. The noodles in this bowl was a juicy thick chow mein noodle with the TASTE of the black bean zazangmyeon but definitely not the looks of it. It had a sweet but garlicky umph to it, and I definitely enjoyed this one. PANANGCURRY — Red panang curry… and noodles?!? Never even HEARD of this combo before. The staff was very according for me and told me I could substitute the meat for more veggies, which I opted for!(Rather than choosing tofu as the protein). It came out smelling like absolute bliss. AND it was straight STEAMING both temperature and spicy-wise. I only got the medium/mild and it was at the spice level where it’s bearable but your lips would start burning after a while. These noodles were moreso the flat gummy-ish rice noodles that you typically see in pad thai dishes. SO. GOOD. I read a previous review where they said it was too salty but i didnt think so! I only ate half and finished the other half for breakfast the following morning with a side of rice! Mmmm donut judge me. KUNGPAO — everytime i see the combo of the words kung pao I IMMEDIATELY think spicy chinese chicken with sweet chili peanut sauce. My brother got this one and scarfed it down without even letting me swipe a couple bites of the noodles! The flavor in this is definitely there, medium/mild spicy level is perfect. The noodles are the same as the black bean noodle dish. A thumbs up for me! SINGAPORE — these noodles reminded me of fettichine type of noodles. It came out in a green curry sauce and although I feel that I cant really be the judge of this since ive never had singaporean curry before, it was still very good! Quite different though from other curries ive tasted.(Honestly in my opinion, the panang curry I got was much better) AND there you have it! Victoria definitely impressed me with this one! I wonder if this is a chain around canada or just in British Columbia. Either way, i would become a regular if this asian fusion idea ever came to the bay! Youll be seeing me back next time im there!

Its raining, its poring, the old stomach is snoring Ahhh Victoria in November, rain and more rain, and im cold to the bone. I have been craving a noodle bowl for days now. I take the suggestion of local Victorian Randall Carnell and hop on over to NoodleBox. I asked the server what he recommended, without hesitation he recommended the Tom Yum Soup, damm straight it was yummy! Large portions, great complex hot flavors, fresh shrimp(choice of protein) and adorned with a little bean sprouts and lime wedges. It hit the spot, I would return again and again!

It was great! We were looking for something low key after a busy day & it hit the spot! Fresh, tasty, fast & the kids thoroughly enjoyed the teriyaki noodles. Tried the Kung Pao with pulled pork & it was definitely something we would have again!

Great sauce and spices, yummy noodles and quick service, but there was literally 4 pieces of beef and two pieces of broccoli! Would it kill them to throw in some more? After all, paying like $ 15 should get you some meat and veg

I traveled to Victoria several times and the Noodlebox is always a «must stop» for me. The portions are big, the flavor of the food is amazing and the customer services is good. If you get to go to Victoria, make sure to stop here and get some Asian Fusion food. If you are a spicy food lover this is also the place for you.

Hipster Asian fusion cultural appropriation in a box. Over sauced, over seasoned. Just kind of a mess.

Went here today and was über excited because I love noodles. The music is really loud, and I couldn’t even hear my friend who was sitting two seats away. After I ordered, the guy gave us all the food we ordered in take out boxes and said that they didn’t give bowls after 8 on Canada Day, because it was«busy.» It sounded like they just didn’t want to wash dishes. I ordered spring rolls and received an egg roll. If my understanding is correct, an egg roll is NOT a spring roll. After we ate, we walked out of the restaurant and back in, after realizing that we should use the restrooms. The guy saw and told us that their bathrooms were«closing up,» mistaking us for regular people and not customers. Another guy, recognizing us as customers told the first guy and he told us, «nevermind.» He could of just told us that bathrooms were for customers only. All in all, I was pretty disappointed.

Ordered two dishes, «hot» and it was a nice surprise when it was actually spicy! I hate going to a place and asking for spicy only to be given something with a mild taste. This place actually delivered! Big portions, enough for lunch the next day.

Ordered the Kung Pad with prawns(Hot). First time at this location and I must say it was the fastest food prep time. The sauce was perfect, noodles a nice softness and the young lady who took my order was fun & polite! Keep up the great work!

The Noodle Box was recommended to us by one of the clerks at thehotel we were staying at in Victoria. He warned us about the different levels of spiciness in the establishment. It was a relatively small menu with foods like teriyaki, rice, and various noodles. I noted that there were 8 levels of spiciness and ordered the Malaysian Rice mild(the lowest level of spiciness available). My wife orderedr Spicy Peanut Noodle at a spice level of 3. When the food came out the servings were huge. The presentation was lovely and for $ 12 the value looked pretty good. At a few bites and it tasted quite nice. And then ate more… and then a little more… and then a little more… and then I felt like my mouth was on fire. I rested and took a bite, then had to stop, then rested, then had to stop, then just had to stop. By that time I had only eaten about a third of the rice and just had to call it quits. I felt like if I ate any more I would give myself an upset stomach. Don’t get me wrong, the food was really tasty but for the lowest level of spice it was quite spicy. I had to call it quits and wasted a lot of it, which was rather disappointing. On the other hand, my wife really enjoyed her noodles and ate most of it. She is the spicy eater of our household.

The Noodle Box is yummy for some dishes(and less for others), and a great alternative to Foo(which has a similar concept) if you need a place to sit. The space and atmosphere does nothing for me, but I’d mostly lean into this kind of place for takeout. They recently went all-ethical chicken at no extra charge, which was nice. Black Bean and Garlic Stir-Fry — A delicious punch in the mouth. Intense flavours. Well-cooked noodles. As Jody said, the«extra veggies» were non-existent. Thai-Stye Chow Mein was good, but not amazing. Singapore Cashew Curry didn’t have many cashews. Flavour was ok. Burmese Naan? I don’t know what is particularly Burmese about it, but it is delicious.

A disappointing first visit. .. . I’d recommend Foo up the street instead. I felt like I was one of the last in Victoria to eat here. I watched colleagues time after time bring a Noodle Box back to work for lunch. A lot of fans and repeat eats. So here I am finally ordering a Teriyaki Box at 11:50am Friday to beat the crowd. I asked for no garlic because, even though teriyaki shouldn’t have it, some of those same colleagues reeked of it après Noodle Box. It made me think that maybe they use it on everything. I paid an extra $ 1 to substitute noodles for rice. After a 20 minute wait I had to decline the dish, as it was served on noodles. Over five minutes later, it comes up as ordered. My lunch mates were almost done, of course. Well, my sprouts were fresh. The dish was half rice. The chicken was bland, stir fried, not at all beautifully glazed with a sweet/savoury soy-ginger sauce. What made it more awful was this weird finish on my tongue — a dry, cardboardy, yet tingly effect that was off putting. I couldn’t place it. .. was it sulphites or a weird additive? Or, just a bad sauce. I don’t have any allergies. I couldn’t finish it. And then, within two hours later(spoiler alert) it wanted out fast. Over $ 14 for a cleanse.

If you’re looking for delicious, innovative cuisine, don’t eat here. I ordered the peanut noodles, and sent them back because they were inedible. I got some curry noodle dish instead, which had little to no flavor, with what looked like processed chicken pieces added to it. The noodles were so heavy and voluminous, the taste of the noodles overwhelmed what little flavor the curry had. I didn’t eat it. The rest of my family seemed to like what they ordered, but sometimes their driving hunger can cloud their discernment. I wouldn’t go back and cannot, in good conscience, recommend it to anyone. Sorry.

Despite the fact that I love noodle box food I am completely unimpressed with the Douglas and uptown locations and will only go to the fisgard one from now on. Uptown has ridiculous wait times for pick up, last time I called at 5:15pm they told me the next pick up time would be 6:30pm. I called fisgard and they had it done in 15 minutes. Douglas has messed up my order 4 times in the last few months. There is only one pleasant guy working there, perhaps the floor manager not sure. Everyone else has been less than courteous. It should be common practice to confirm an order is accurate before having your customer pay for it. Also when you call in an order it should be confirmed for accuracy, especially when there are 4 locations in Victoria. Tonight my order went to the wrong location by accident and after 15 minutes of waiting for it to be straightened out at the Douglas location they refunded me, in cash which isn’t how I paid, and the refund was short some change plus the tip I paid on debit. I was too frustrated to point this out and just went to fisgard where the girl was very pleasant and apologized. The food is too good to stop eating but I shouldn’t have to factor in extra time to deal with mess ups! So Fisgard location only!

This place is fairly inconsistent. I have been here a handful of times over the last few years whenever I am in Victoria. The first time it was fantastic. Depending on what you order it can either be fantastic, or horrible. My most recent experience I went with the spicy peanut noodles with chicken. It was disgusting. I seriously couldn’t even eat it. My boyfriend got the same dish but with pork, and thought it was pretty good. Just changing the meat seems to have made a huge difference. The teriyaki noodles with chicken though were good. I love the concept of Noodle box, but am sad about the high prices and the inconsistency between dishes and locations. I highly doubt I will come back on future trips to Victoria.

Spent the weekend in Victoria in early May for a social media conference. Though this is my old university stomping ground, i’m amazed how much has changed in the seven years since I called it home. But I was happy to see Noodle Box alive and well. With a quick turn around dinner needed, we ended up at this spot twice over the course of the conference. And one four star experience, followed by one two star experience, lands us in the 3 star review range. Four star: After a 6am start time the first day, by 6pm we were simply craving a quick meal, a glass of wine and a 45 minute stop over before we crawled back to baths & bed. In the mood for something asian fusion, we first hauled our tired butts up to Foo but as they didn’t seem to have wine available(or it was not visually promoted) and not wanting to balance on bar stools, we made our way to Noodle Box. The spicy peanut box has been my go-to since second year university. It’s tasty. Frickin tasty. And we gleefully ordered two, with two glasses of wine, plunked on the cushy booth seats and chomped down dinner. For under $ 25. Wham bam thank you ma’am. Only complaint — my «extra veggies» were pretty non-existent. But the meal came quickly, hot and with HUGE portions for us wanting females dreaming of hotel beds. Noodle Box delivered. Hurrah. Two star: Next day. 20 minutes before we parted ways and portable lunch. Noodle Box was outside the door so we popped back in. Never stray from the spicy peanut. It was busy. We ordered the specials — Coconut Curry Noodles for me and… whatever the other special was. They were obviously a little flustered with the large influx of lunchers from the conference but I golf clap them for pumping food out that quickly. However, it might have been a little too quick… My veggies, though more substantial, were raw. Not cooked. Which didn’t fit with the meal whatsoever. And my partner in dine, who ordered AND paid for brown rice instead of noodles, got a box of noodles. Which we realized too late in the game to correct. This specific location doesn’t seem to gel under pressure. So a good and a bad in 48 hours lands a solid middle ground. Thanks for the nostalgic throw back Noodle Box — we’ll see each other again. Bravo for carrying decent wine & even Phillips on tap but bump up your veggies, and take a breath so ordering snafus don’t become habit.
