I came here after a night of drinking wanting some tasty poutine and left feeling extremely ripped off. I ordered a poutine with frites sauce coming out to about $ 15. I was able to finish the poutine before I got one block away and was still starving. The frites sauce was just ketchup and mayo, normally free condiments” for an extra $ 2! This was a bed experience of fries and I will not be returning.

Ordered the fish sandwich and pulled pork and bacon poutine. The poutine was really good. The fish in the fish sandwich only covered ½ of the bun though so I would not order it next time. It was supposed to come with coleslaw, but the server forgot to add it and I had to ask for it. However, at the end he came, apologized for the coleslaw and gave us a free Belgian waffle dessert.

I ordered the regular sized traditional poutine(which was slightly overpriced in my opinion). I liked how they double-layered the cheese(filling it halfway with fries topped with cheese, then filling it the rest of the way with fries and cheese again). I LOVE cheese curds, so double-layering is definitely the way to go. The thick-cut fries were made to order, but I didn’t find them to be crispy at all. It was almost like eating thick-cut fry-shaped mashed potato with gravy and cheese. I kinda expected more from a place that specializes in fries… This place also offers a variety of gourmet sauces to go along with the frites, and some pretty interesting concoctions(ex. Pad Thai Frites, Kimchi Frites, etc.). However, if they don’t even have the Frites recipe down, there’s really no point in adding all that other stuff.

Great late night spot for flavourful poutine. Wide array of unique styles, including international frites and Belgian waffle selections. Definitely a hometown fave for a university hub.

The poutine here is very mediocre. The gourmet menu has some interesting items to choose from such as pad thai poutine and kimchi poutine. But they were quite disappointing for their price. I got the pad thai poutine and even though it looked really nice, it didn’t taste great. The fries were average and the toppings were extremely lacking. Don’t you absolutely hate it when the ratio between toppings & fries are off for poutine?! For this, there was only enough topping for half of the fries given :(And also, the only thing that you could eat in the topping was bean sprouts. That’s it. No meat!!!

Along the corner of University and King, this Fries joint is perfect after a late night or… if you want to satisfy your fries cravings. Overview: — Welcoming and friendly staff — Definitely affordable for university students — Clean environment — Large selection They have a huge selection of sauces to choose from to dip your fries into. My personal favorites are Wasabi, FWB sauce, and the bacon and chives. I would definitely recommend wasabi to anyone. Every batch of fries are made fresh and follow through strict preparation procedures to ensure they are always crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I ordered the pulled pork poutine and it wasn’t anything too special or different from Smoke’s poutinerie. However, next time I am in town I am definitely going to try the bacon and mushroom! Since the last time I have been to the restaurant, they have added a new item to their menu; the Belgian Waffle Sandwich. If you’re craving fries, this is the place to be.

A store that specializes in Belgian fries with dipping sauce and with a very convenient(and probably pricey!) location near King/University. The kitchen is visible past the counter, they have a whole row of fryers and a cart full of cut potatoes. They also sell 8″ hot dogs and poutine which can be topped by one of the sauces but I didn’t try that. The service their is friendly. The fries are good. They’re sizeable fries and are very good for dipping. We had the FWB sauce, a sauce which is apparently their house sauce and is a mix of ketchup, mayo, salt and pepper. It’s a great sauce and good for dipping fries though it doesn’t have me craving to come back for more. It’s also even better for dipping wings… have you ever thought of selling wings too? The«cone» packaging is innovative, but at the same time awkward to carry after leaving the store, since you can’t put it down or stack it on top of anything else you’re holding(eg. if you had just gone to Chatime across the street, how do you open the door). I would personally choose the box everytime, even if it’s boring. The price is on the high side. $ 5.99 + tax gets you a large fries with 1 dipping sauce(pictured). There is also a regular size($ 4.99) and jumbo size with 2 dipping sauces($ 8.99).
