Okay, first of all, although it’s listed as a Radisson here on Unilocal and some other places, this hotel is no longer a Radisson. I’ve been staying at this hotel when in Windsor for years now, and remember when it was still a Radisson few years ago, and it’s been going downhill ever since. Where to start? Well, the parking garage is advertised wiith a covered walkway to the hotel. Well. It’s more of a maze taking you through a deserted shopping mall. Although Windsor is generally safe, I wouldn’t want to hear steps behind me in that deserted mall at night. So I usually take the short walk across the street from the garage to the hotel’s back entrance. But it’s always been that way. There used to be a free bottle of mineral water in the bathroom every morning. I really appreciated this since I don’t like to brush my teeth with tap water. You guessed it, the bottle is gone. Instead you’d need to purchase the(larger) $ 3 bottle on the desk. No, thank you. The room is okay, sleep number bed and all, and comes with free wired internet. But there is no WiFi except in the lobby and restaurant. So if you want to stay connected with your tablet on the room, you’re out of luck. This is the biggest drawback IMO, I expect free WiFi these days, even cheap $ 40 per night Econolodges offer it. I asked the front desk staff why there’s no WiFi in the rooms, and they said(get this!) there’s no money for that. Come on! The wired Internet is there, put one or two access points in every floor, and you’re all set. At least they threw out those old tube TVs and installed flat screens, the picture quality is a great improvement compared to last year. The biggest disappointment is the restaurant though. They eliminated the breakfast buffet in 2013, now it’s all made to order. You only get to pick one thing, and it has to be what’s on the menu. I really prefer buffet, it’s also a lot more time efficient. With made to order, prepare to wait for quite a while when it’s busy. Also, I don’t drink coffee, I prefer OJ. You get one glass, after it was empty today, the waitress took the glass, and never returned. It seems the owner either wants to maximize profit or reduce losses. Either way, this is very noticeable to the guest, and guests will draw their consequences. All in all, I won’t be going back to this hotel, there are other alternatives close by that offer better value for money.

Same as the other reviews though the hotel was deserted when we were there. Kind of creepy really but then Sunday night is probably not a big night. Saw one other guest during our over night stay. The rooms were clean and a little dated. $ 65 a night via Priceline plus $ 10 for the river view plus $ 10 to park. The parking garage has 6 – 7 cars total. The pool was fantastic, great view of Detroit!

Booked this hotel on Priceline, where it’s listed as a 4-star hotel. Priceline is confused; it’s definitely a three-star at best. Our room was adequate. It comes equipped with a workspace complete with ethernet connection(no wireless), a rather outdated television, and Sleep Number beds that sound like they’re going to explode when you adjust the number. The walls are very, very thin and we could hear everything going on next door(they were playing a gam involving dice, incase you were curious). The bathroom wasn’t as clean as I would have liked it to be. The inside of the toilet was stained, some of the towels looked dirty, the shower flooded the bathroom when used, and the sink sounded like a rocket ship. There’s a really nice pool on the third floor where you can take in the Detroit skyline as you swim. The workout room has three machines, an elliptical, a treadmill, and a stationary bike, all of which are a bit antiquated. They got the job done, though. The staff were very friendly and helpful. As we had never been to Windsor before, we needed some recommendations and they were happy to point us in the right direction. As the other reviewer noted, parking is $ 10 per night with unlimited in and out privileges. The garage is a PITA to get to and from. One major bonus is that there’s a free shuttle on weekends to and from the casino. On other nights, the casino is a short walk away. Would I stay here again? Probably… but only using Priceline’s cheaper rates.

We went to a wedding in Windsor and the couple actually reserved a block of rooms for the out-of-towners, so I didn’t shop around for a hotel, but the price was moderate(just over $ 120/night) and the place was very comfortable and easy to find. Although we didnt stay in the room a lot, the staff was very accommodating about in early check in, and their check out time is at noon which worked out perfectly. It was also within walking distance of many riverfront bars/restaurants and the casino. Overnight parking was $ 10 and had in and out privileges, which was nice(be warned, the walk to the parking structure is somewhat of a maze, but signage is good). The room itself was comfortable and met our(limited) needs. The beds were the kind you could inflate/deflate depending on desired mattress firmness. Although we didn’t care one way or another for it, I did like trying it out, as I can’t see when we would have another opportunity. If I were to stay there again, they have a nice view of the Detroit skyline(if you are on the riverside) and I would definitely request a river view.
