Shawarma Palace

This would be another restaurant in Windsor where I have searched high and low for someone that can beat their food and there is no one! This is the best shwarma you will find. Period. Fresh, great toppings, well-​prepared, quick service. It’s all there. And the owner practically lives in the place (someone in another review said he’s not there as much, anymore — not sure what they mean — I see Steve in there constantly).
While I’m at it, I feel I must address some of the other negative comments: yes, the price has gone up over the years (it’s called inflation folks). Try going to other shwarma shops, though. Oftentimes, a sandwich at these other places is, at least, $ 1.50 above what the Palace is charging. And to those who claim to be «getting sick off the food». Could it be that, since you were downtown, you might have been drinking alcohol before you went for your shwarma? Alcohol has been known to induce nausea! May want to think this through a bit before you discredit someone’s business! I’ve never gotten sick from the place and have eaten there countless times. But I’m not a heavy drinker so that may be a factor!
What impresses me most about the Palace is that it has been standing downtown for so long but hasn’t lowered its standards. You can even tell that his staff is well-​treated as many of them have been working there forever and there’s very little turnover. Support this place, folks. Even on the busiest nights, the wait is never long. And this is the best shwarma you will ever eat. They go to pain-​staking lengths to ensure it always tastes amazing.

Used to be pretty good at very reasonable. Prices have gone way up. Got sick the last time. More money for the scooters … yikes. But I used to go and it was fine so maybe a fluke. But the extra dough for the problems caused turned me off.

A downtown staple for years. Unfortunately the owners are there less and less and they are really the ones who made this place a success. Steve is a character and I don’t even know if he’s sincere … but he makes everyone feel like he is just so happy to see them you have to love the guy.
Anyway the food is usually pretty good I say usually as I have gotten sick from there before. They seem to take good care of cleanliness etc so I don’t really know what happened but it was more than once. Sometimes I wonder if that chicken is cooked when they get so busy.
Prices have gone up and without the owners around as much its not as friendly. I feel the price/​value ratio to be expensive for what it is and don’t go in very often.
However they have been running a business downtown so long the city should give them a medal. No many good clean businesses in the core. I wish the city would clear the panhandlers from the front street and let Steve put a table or two outside. Shwarma Palace should not have to endure panhandlers bothering their customers. Especially when they have been paying taxes and keeping downtown fun for 9 or 10 years.

This is the best Lebanese fast food restaurant in Windsor. Everything is very fresh and service is fast considering how busy they always are!
