Café des fleurs

First night in Nice and not sure where to eat. The original plan was to try the popular place, Frogs, which was sadly closed until mid December. So decided on this place and it did not disappoint. I went with the white cheese pizza with smoked salmon. Anytime I see something with smoked salmon on it or in it, I got for it. For the app we had the foie gras with a fig compote, maybe the best foie gras dishes on the trip. Also tired some of their duck which was cooked to perfection. I wasn’t sure if I should have ordered the pizza in France as my next stop was Italy. It turned out to be a good choice as this pizza was better than anything I had in Italy…

In the Cours Saleya in Old Town Nice. Service was excellent — hostess and waitress very attentive. Food was very good. Mussels enough to feed 2 or more!

De passage à Nice pour le week-​end j’ai eu l’occasion de déjeuner sur la terrasse du Café des Fleurs.
C’était vraiment délicieux et le service était parfait: rapidité et sympathie !
Les plats sont cuisinés avec des produits frais, vous n’avez pas un choix trop important ce qui est souvent gage de qualité et les prix sont très abordables (aux alentours de 15 € pour les salades).
Je recommande !

Je recommande cette terrasse du cours saleya pour un déjeuner au soleil. Les serveurs sont très agréables, le service est au petit soin. Le plat du jour né me déçoit jamais avec un prix tout à fait raisonnable, environ 13 euros. La salade de poulpes est fraîche et généreuse. Bouteille de rosé à partir de 21 euros.

Super resto qui né paie pas de mine de l extérieur ! Coincé entre 2 italiens, le cadre très «lounge «est reposant, l équipe est d 1 gentillesse incroyable ! Disponible à souhait et super sympathique ! Quand au repas, c est excellentissime ! Très fin très bon la quantité va avec la qualité ! Franchement je recommande les yeux fermés

It’s French. Easily the best food I’ve had while traveling the past two weeks. Highly highly recommend. I was worried it was too touristy because of the area but the food doesn’t show it. I had the Lamb and potatoes with salad bed. #Amazing. With 2 glasses of wine each, dinner for two was € 65

It’s actually called Fleur Café.
We walked by this little store the earlier night, and it looked nice. So Carry and I decided to have our breakfast here the last morning in Nice. The hostess was pretty, fashion and hospitable.
【Breakfast Américain 】It was typical, huge and yummy. The whole deal contains everything: café, omelette, bacon et champignons, tranche d’emmental, toasts, jus d’orange, et salade de fruits. Everything was fresh and tasty. I really love American breakfast.
【Crêpe】We had a 5 ingrédient au choix, which contains jambon, œuf, fromage, champignons et tomates. It was soft, fresh and light. The crêpe tasted better with salt and pepper. I liked the egg and ham, and it also tasted kind of like Chinese 杂粮煎饼 lol!

Standard French affair (which means delicious and fresh!) in the Cours Saleya in old town Nice. My friend and I each enjoyed hearty but lite salads. Per normal European standards, service was on the slower side but it was so beautiful sitting on the patio in the sun that we didn’t mind.

De mieux en mieux
Un endroit très agréable, une carte épurée, de bons plats et un accueille sympa. Nous avons passé un agréable moment avec mes amis, une équipe jeune et dynamique c’est occupée de nous et nous avons de plus très bien mangé… une adresse que je conserve pour mon prochain séjour sur Nice, c’est quand même agréable d’être bien accueilli et bien servi sur la Côte d’Azur et de sûr quoi sur Nice, de né pas être un simple porte-​monnaie que les commerçants du coin essaye de vider à tout prix !!

I remembered this area from my last visit, but I have the worst sense of direction. After looking around forever and almost giving up, we finally found this strip of restaurants. We liked this restaurant’s covered patio. Plus there was a man playing his guitar.
We ordered a prosciutto pizza for a starter which was thin, crisp, and perfectly cooked. Kristin got a spaghetti with tomato and basil– fresh and delicious. I got the swordfish on a bed of greens. The greens were fresh but my fish was a little on the dry side. Maggie got a seafood risotto that she was not happy with. Her risotto was soft on the outside, crunchy and hard in the center. The shrimp in her seafood mix wasn’t deveined all the way.
In addition, we asked our server for water refills and never got it. Maggie stopped the manager. Had she asked me I would’ve said no. The French are bat sh*t crazy about their food. She told him she didn’t like her risotto and that it wasn’t good. I saw steam coming from his face as he slammed the plate down before he picked it up again. He yelled in English that he made 35 risottos that day and each one was perfect with no complaints. He shouted, «I will not make you pay for this dish.» Our server tried to intervene and was trying to make sense of what was happening. The manager told our server in French not to talk to us anymore.
I jumped in and said that everything was delicious except her risotto which was hard in the middle with shrimp that wasn’t deveined all the way. It was a hostile situation so I felt the need to defend her. I didn’t agree with complaining in the first place but we were at the point of no return. As for the service, when it’s bad I tip less.
It was awkward, obviously. I found it to be incredibly funny. The service had been non-​existent and slow which is the norm for Europe. Gratuity was already included but just to prove a point we tipped extra. It was a cultural lesson in French dining with a moment we’ll never forget.

Desanchanté
Je n’ai pas testé le restaurant ! mais un apéritif tout simplement, rv dans ce lieu sur la base d’une bonne réputation … Un accueil, plutôt une invitation de la part d’une charmante dame devant la porte, cela fait plaisir… mais après, la catastrophe, le service déplorable, un accueil bourru, pas sympathique du tout, j’avais l’impression de déranger… je regrette d’être venu, surtout que c’était mon anniversaire !!!

Surprenant
Je né m’attendais pas à manger dans ce style de restaurant. Le nom «le café des fleurs» me fesait penser à un restaurant pour touristes, ou une brasserie. Or j’ai été surprise de tomber dans un endroit classe et branché. Les plats sont délicieux ! le nom est juste à changer car je pense éloigne certaines personnes.

Quelle adresse !
Je suis absolument conquis par ce resto. Le nouveau chef a concocté une ardoise variée et vraiment succulente (j’ai testé plusieurs plats). Les plats du jours (le midi) sont toujours de très bonne qualité, et très correct niveau prix, quand au soir, l’ambiance lounge avec un DJ résident reconnu qui nous berce avec sa musique, et la déco du lieu sont parfait pour accompagner mes repas. Enfin, mais cela n’engage que moi, c’est une des trop rares adresse du cours Saléya où on nous prend pas pour des touristes (avec la cuisine et le service qui va avec !). A tester et en abuser d’urgence.

enfin un café dans le vieux ou cela est agreable de s’arreter sans se faire massacrer a l’addition.Le décor est sympa mme si je m’arette souvent en terrasse exclusivement au petit dej et pour le dejeuner. La carte est super sympa et le personnel de salle très pro, sympatique et conviviale, dommage que le patron face toujours la gueule et soit toujours autant lunatique. enfin un lieu a decouvrir.

I should have known better when I walked into this place on the Cours Saleya. Most places on the Cours are tourist traps, and you will be much better served for less money in many other places within the street of the Old Nice.
From the outside, this place, as one of the newer restaurants on the Cours, looked like it maybe held some promise. I was greatly disappointed. From having to wait for a half hour with a jug of water and no glasses before being able to order, to poorly chosen and fatty cuts of meat being served with improper cuttlery (which we also had to ask for). then for desert receiving a totally different order than what was requested, and being charged for the difference, this place was a huge let down. It looked like it had potential initially. When you look at the restaurant more closely however, the tables may be cleaned, the walls and doors certainly are not. The sink in the bathroom didn’t work at all. One thing after another. Our waitress forgot about us repeatedly, and had to be corrected by one of her peers at one point. She even had the gall to encourage us to come back.
An experience I won’t repeat, and that I wouldn’t recommend to others. Maybe only for coffee, but even there, my espresso became a cappucino without my having requested it — not because I can’t order in french either.

Petit déj sur le cours
Idéal au petit déjeuner, quand on a le temps de prendre le temps. Sur le Cours Saleya c’est mon rituel du dimanche. Café, journal (dommage que le Corse Matin né soit plus livré !) et pain au chocolat fait du matin !! Allez y sans hésiter ! La déco a changé, c’est moderne et l’ambiance DJ du soir et vraiment super ! C’est l’ancien résident du Before qui mixe du mardi au samedi !

Etablissement à visiter absolument
Suite à mon passage à Nice, je vous recommande vivement cet établissement dans lequel le personnel et tout particulièrement Aurélie sont très acceuillants. Je tiens à vous remercier pour la soirée.

Correct
Jolie décoration à base de gris dans un style lounge avec un DJ. Une ambiance assez sympa que l’on né retrouve pas très souvent à Nice. Dommage que l’endroit né reste pas ouvert assez tard pour vraiment profiter de l’ambiance lounge autour d’un verre. Ici vous pouvez venir manger ou bien boire un verre. Une carte assez simple proposant pâtes, pizzas, viandes. Bön rapport qualité /​prix. Proportions correctes. Un service agréable. Petit hic la musique était assez forte durant la soirée ce qui rendait nos conversations incompréhensibles, après avoir fait la remarque au serveur un cocktail nous a été offert.
