Excelente lanche!

Bonjour my favorite crepes place. Au P’tit Grec is located in the latin quarter of Paris. I wish I knew more french as I would have a greater appreciation as my taste buds were quite fond of the crepes. It was so delicious. The staff speaks limited English, but is very friendly. Most American crepes are very thin, but the crepes here can be huge. The crepes are well made and the execution is spot on. You will notice that there are many crêpe shop down the road, but all the locals and foodies know that this is the spot. Your average looking crepes from Au P’tit Grec is more like a meal. It is very filling. My crêpe had eggs, onion, lettuce, tomato, mushroom, cheese and some other stuff that I forgot. All of the ingredients are fresh. It’s a must try.

WHAT!!! This is what a real French crêpe is like? Totally not what I was expecting! I am used to the very light and thin crepes made with wheat flour, these were made with buckwheat flour giving a very different taste and texture… not in a bad way, just not at all what I am used to. So I had a little lesson in French cuisine after this: apparently savory crepes(cheese, ham, chicken, etc) are made with the buckwheat while the sweet crepes(nutella, fruit, etc) are made with the wheat flour. I had no idea! Anyway, Au p’tit Grec makes a fabulous(and Paris affordable) crêpe loading it with tons of toppings. It is delicious, fresh and incredibly filling. If you want a good crêpe without getting suckered into the pricey touristy creperies, this is the spot!

I was fortunate enough to go to Au P’tit Grec when they didn’t have a huge line(around 6:30pm on a Friday) and I ordered their special with the eggplant caviar(I wasn’t really sure what this is when I ordered it), feta cheese, tomato, onion, & lettuce. As everyone else mentioned, the portions here are huge and the prices are without a doubt reasonable. My savory crêpe definitely filled me up and it only came out to 6 euros(which is on the more expensive side of their menu). I wouldn’t say it’s the best crêpe I ever had but that could be because I wasn’t a fan of the eggplant caviar part which was mainly some paste with the insides of eggplant rather than eggplant slices themselves — but then again I didn’t ask them what it was beforehand so that’s my own doing. I see why tourists love this place: it’s cheap, pretty tasty, and conveniently located on one of the most lively streets in Paris(Rue Mouffetard). It seems to also be a hit with students(we saw many students who had just finished classes and were lining up for food there after us) as it’s located close to some schools.

This was the only salty crêpe I had during my short stay in Paris so I have nothing to compare to. Tl;dr Overhyped but pretty good Not sure if worth the wait or the trek as it’s kind of far from city center(louvre area) I decided to come here after visiting musee d’orsay even though it was raining and(very) out of the way, just because of the things I’ve heard about this place and because I was starving. This place wasn’t hard to find on the street — just look for the queue. The wait was about 45 min. Similar to how long I waited for the museums. The menu was in French which I couldn’t understand, so I asked for a crêpe with ham, cheese, mushroom, egg and salad. The guy who made my order was super friendly. He asked if I wanted any sauce on it(which I don’t remember him doing to those ahead of me) and suggested hot sauce and mayo(because I’m from the states?) Anyway, I declined the hot sauce as I have no spice tolerance and took the mayo. He was patient with me taking pics too(I had put the lens cap back because I didn’t expect the sauce) The crêpe was HUmongous! It’s definitely worth € 6 but I couldn’t finish it despite that I haven’t eaten for ~7 hours! I felt full before I was even halfway through the crêpe! The taste: it was good alright, the mayo really complemented well with everything. But not sure if it was worth the trek or the wait(in the rain). While it was a solid crêpe, I didn’t think it was too special.

The reason this is slightly pricier than your average crêpe(5 € instead of 3 €) is because you get a lot more food in your purchase. This place is amazing. Very fast service and absolutely delicious. I ordered the ham, potatoes, cheese, and halal crêpe and it was soooo filling. The crepes all come with a generous helping of tomatoes, onion and lettuce too. An absolute must for anyone looking for good crepes.

Delicious! Inexpensive and filling. Tried the ham and cheese crêpe with lettuce and tomatoes and onions. It was quite a wait but the food is fresh and flavorful. Tons of spices and so much cheese. He is not cheap about the filling. For 4.5 € it was a great meal! Keep in mind its huge. This is not a snack!

It was so good we came back twice! The first time we arrived for brunch so it was our first meal of the day. There was a small crowd in line waiting and placing orders with two guys taking the orders and making the crepes. The older French gentleman is very serious about his crepes and makes them with care, he doesn’t rush through it even with a crowd of people waiting. My beau always asks what the popular items are and orders it, and the French crêpe maker who speaks english, recommended the eggs, ham, cheese and all the fillings(onions tomatoes and lettuce). So we order two for € 5 each. I should have looked at the pictures more and read the reviews in more detail because the savory crepes are huge!!! Plus they put a lot… I mean ALOT of cheese in it and I’m not a big cheese fan, I can only tolerate a little at a time so I felt bad that I had to pull the excess cheese out of my crêpe. As full as I was, I still managed to finish my savory crêpe with most of the cheese taken out. He on the other hand happily scarfed his down. Our brunch for € 10 total was a success! The next day, before heading to the airpprt, we decided to come back again for the sweet crêpe this time. This time another friendly gentleman helped us, and again was super nice about recommending which crepes to order. While waiting in line to order, the smell of the savory crepes made me hungry so I ordered an egg, chorizo, onions, tomatoes and lettuce crêpe(no cheese this time!) While he ordered the banana grand marnier sweet crêpe, total was only € 6! We shared our crepes and were glad we did because I couldn’t have finish an entire sweet one myself and he was hungry enough to eat part of my savory crêpe. The crepes here are really different from the ones in the states. It’s thin but crispy. So it’s really a sandwich wrap but soft enough to have a pancake like texture I’m towards the middle. I absolutely love this place!

I adore this place. I’m not kidding when I say they’re generous with their portions. They literally dump half a package of cheese on your crêpe. Tomatoes, salad, and onions are free toppings and the price is incredibly budget friendly too. 2 – 8 euros most for sweet and savory crepes.

I only had 1 salty crêpe in Paris, and I am glad I made it count. Au P’tit Grec was large, extremely tasty, and even more inexpensive! For 4eu, you can get a nice, cheesy crêpe loaded with ham and any other ingredient available. While the line was not long, the cook take his time to make sure the crêpe is cooked the right way. Even with only 3 – 4 people ahead of me, everything still took about 20 – 25 minutes. Not to worry though, because the wait is worth it — — a true foodgasm! In addition to the salty crêpe, I also had a nutella banana crêpe. Watching him make this was a shock to me because never had I seen so much nutella on anything before. He practically poured a quarter of a large jar on there! Thanks to this, I easily met my nutella intake for the year. Needless to say, this was the best nutella banana crêpe I have ever had. For travelers on a budget or a foodie in Paris alike, this is a must-try!

We were really looking forward to try this place after reading the reviews and the ratings. Even when we reached there, as other fellow reviews had mentioned, there was a huge queue and had to wait for about 45 mins or so for our turn. We ordered two crepes one with feta, tomatoes, salad and onions other with ham, cheese, tomatoes and salad. Both of them were huge and looked delicious, but We were quite disappointed once we took our first bite. They were very average. WhAt I felt was lacking was the flavor, they had all the ingredients but no sauce or dressing etc to complement them. Hence it felt dry and bland. Not worth the hype.

My favorite crêpe shop in all of Paris.(Believe me, I’ve tried quite a few while I was studying abroad: another day, another crêpe). The savory crepes here are amazing. Seriously. Mouthwatering delicious. It’s a small shop: you order on the outside and you can watch them make your crêpe. There’s usually a line, but don’t let that scare you. It goes quickly and it’s so worth it. I can’t remember if the menus were entirely in French or if there was English as well, but the people are extremely friendly and helpful. You could ask someone next to you in line or an employee. I would recommend any crêpe with ham and cheese!(Jambon et fromage). Classic combination. So French. AND it’s cheap! It’s around 5 euros for a crêpe bigger than my face. Moreover, after you finish your crêpe you can walk around Rue Mouffetard and hit up some bars or get another sweet crêpe for dessert. Great student area and happy hour deals on this street. Excellent.

(English review below!) S’il n’y a pas de monde, j’y retournerai sûrement !(on peut toujours rêver) /// Living near the Rue Mouffetard, I go there quite often and over the years I have of course noticed the crowd that always surrounds the Petit Grec. Intrigued, I wanted to know if it was really worth the hype! On a Sunday, me and my sister(Yasu.M) decided to go to the restaurant. After passing by the discouraging queue, we then thought that if we wanted to try those famous crepes, we didn’t have much choice! After waiting for half an hour, we could finally savor our meal. Verdict? I liked it a lot! The price-quality ratio is excellent, you won’t find filled crepes like these anywhere else in Paris at such a low price! Speaking of which, here is a piece of advice: come with an empty stomach! The actual crêpe isn’t the best one I’ve eaten so far, but the aubergine(or eggplant for the fellow americans out there!) works really well with the feta cheese and the other vegetables(tomatoes, salad and onions). In a nutshell: I totally get why it is always so crowded, but I’m not too sure it is worth waiting this long. If there aren’t this many people next time, I’ll probably go back!(one can dream right?)

First stop in Paris as it is really close to the place we are staying at. The place is small — just the ordering area and some booth seating. The guy who made our crepes was quite charming and he was able to show off his language skills(spoke French, Spanish, and English in the short time we were there). The crepes are made to order and they do so right in front of you as you order. It takes about 5 mins to do 2 at a time. We got the jambo fromage and the tuna crepes. They were large and quite filling. So delicious as they are made with tons of cheese and what seemed like fresh veggies. Perfect for a long day of sight seeing. It kept us going for at least 8 hours.

3 things. huge. cheap. yum. easily the BIGGEST crepes I have ever eaten! I had some sort of eggplant, feta, lettuce, tomato concoction and they legit RAM the ingredients inside. you like cheese? well don’t worry because you are going to get alotttt of cheese. Best crepes in the world!!! Super-huge for only 4 – 6 €. Seriously you eat that and you don’t have to eat for the rest of the journey hahahaha. The only bad thing that it has is the huge queue there is always there(30 min wait) but it is worth it! :)

I am no crêpe expert, but all I know is this place is amazing! We had one sweet(banana nutella coconut) and one savory(ham, cheese, onion) and both were delectable. As you may have guessed from the name, there’s a bit of a Greek twist here. They’re served in a handheld fashion similar to a gyro. And best of all, they’re inexpensive, averaging about 5 € each. No wonder there’s always a line!

Tips for getting the most outta your Au P’tit Grec experience /Notes: 1) Go with an empty stomach. It will taste that much greater when you finally get your order, and I’m sure your first bite will taste just as heavenly as mine did when I got my hands on some o’ this goodness. Also, I thought the portions were VERY generous and filling. So save room. 2) Try the Thon Fromage(Tuna & cheese) crêpe. And ask for it «avec salade, tomates, et oignons»(with lettuce, tomatos, and cheese if that wasn’t already clear…) They are very generous with their servings, and you’re left with a meal well worth the 5 euros. 3) They’re nice people! Whether you speak French or English or anything in between, they treat you the same and serve you with a smile(which is not always the case for an American foreign exchange student, and is therefore much appreciated). 4) It’s in the Latin Quarter on Rue Mouffetard which is a lovely street to stroll down for cultural exposure and a lively atmosphere. There are also plenty of other food and dessert options along this street and in this area for you or your group to choose from. 5) It’s a small place. Not much seating. Not sure you want to eat one of these big crepes while walking, but there are plenty of benches you can find around Jardin des Plantes and along the Seine. The Notre Dame and Hotel de Ville are nearby as well for you to hang around, enjoy your meal, and take in the French experience.

OOHLALA!(French expression which means: «OOH, great food and at killer prices too!») I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. It’s probably near the 8 ½ mark and I really can’t oversell it either. It’s a little bit of a hike if you aren’t staying on the Left Bank but it’s worth every step and bypassing every tourist crêpe stand along the way. You can pick from several crêpe combinations they post on the blackboard or just tell them what you want(e.g. lettuce, tomatoes, turkey, etc.). Expect them to come loaded w/melted fromage dripping out of the seams(fromage is French and it means gooey awesomeness). Or, if you have a sweet tooth get one with bananas and Nutella(Nutella is Italian, but also means gooey awesomeness). My wife and I each ate a savory crêpe at the lunch bar and grabbed a sweet one to split to go(highest of recommendations). BESTCREPERIEYOU’LLFINDINPARIS.

RUN, don’t walk to Au P’tit Grec. If you are in the area, and are hungry, you can’t go wrong here. Their galettes are extremely filling and absouletely delicious. This place is usually crowded, but especially so during the summer. For the amount of food you’re getting, it’s quite a steal. If you are a big eater, I suggest the Savoyard. To refuel you during a day of exploring Paris, there’s nothing better than this savory crêpe. I believe it has raclette, veggies, and potatoes. My stomach is grumbling just thinking about it. Whenever I had guests come visit, I would be sure to make this a stop on our Latin Quarter itinerary. Not to mention, the Rue Mouffetard is a gem that is worth a visit on it’s own. Be sure to check out the market at the bottom of the street. Note: These crepes are HUGE

Ma curiosité me perdra. …
