Young chef with a nice refined touch. Sauces were delicate and Tuna carpaccio with foamed emulsion — perfect. Main entrees were great. Hostess/waitress was very pleasant, but service got slower as she joined patrons for rounds of wine. Whole place had a great vibe until the/one of the owner(s) showed up, then everyone seemed on edge. He was very little help as things got busy, and in fact botched a couple deliveries. My favorite parts were his dropping bread on the floor as he was rushing, then picking it up and throwing it into a basket headed for another table. Guess the floors are that clean at Pouic Pouic that patrons may be eating off them… The other appetite diminishing dining room event was the owner constantly rubbing his crotch like he had crabs or something. Americans seem to find this place easy enough. Several US tables. They were the only loud drunks in attendance. Worth the visit if the owner isn’t «helping» with the service. One of the best patisseries in Paris is right around the corner.

We just had an amazing meal there. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the food was interesting, varied and very well prepared. Every dish, including duck, beef, seafood and vegetables, was perfectly prepared. As an example of the service, I explained that I am trying to avoid sugar in my diet and would still like to join the other diners in dessert. So they offered to give me a dish of sliced mango, which was perfect. The wine they suggested was excellent. A bit pricey, but worth it.

Extraordinary flavor. Great mix of flavors from different ingredients. Food & Value: 4⁄5 Stars Really excellent food. However, expect to pay around 50EUR for your meal, so I would say it’s a bit on the more expensive side. Service: 4⁄5 Stars Good, but I’ve seen better in Paris. Ambiance: 4⁄5 Stars The restaurant looks a bit old and dark. It could definitely use a bit of an upgrade to seem warmer and more welcoming. I would recommend going with people you already know rather than first time dinners.

Get off the main street for some of the tastiest food you can find. Every single dish we had was phenomenal, fresh, tasty, and created with thought and care. The chef is a true artist and it shows on every plate and in every bite. The waitress/hostess was engaging and cheerful. What a perfect last meal in Paris — can we bring you all home with us?!

We had a wonderful meal at this restaurant. Appetizers were tasty and different(e, g., the burrata with tomato salad actually came with a tomato soup on top of the cheese and yellow tomato slices). Entrees had great sides and the desserts were well executed. It’s a very small dining room with one waiter and about 15 tables or so. The menu is short, but very creative and tastefully presented. Not a lot of vegetarian options, unfortunately. Our waitress recommended a delicious bottle of wine to go with our meal and had some great suggestions for the kids in our party. Menus in English helped a bunch. Overall, this was one of our best meals in Paris during this trip.

The waiter is affable and attentive and helps me pick a wine. The choice is excellent. Bread and olives arrive unexpectedly /great bread, good olives. The food is French and new wave — flavourful but light — Entrees are excellent — spring vegetables on parmesan crust and shrimp tartare. No problem here. Mains are a notch up — black pig rib with potato mash and Veal cheek with seasonsl vegetables. Both exceptional. We are not in the mood for sweets. Overall small menu, expertly prepared from fresh ingredients. Bill for 2 entrees and 2 mains € 69 a bargain. Wine is up to you!

Petit restaurant sympathique.

A suivre…

Pretty darn good. Small spot but contemporary vibe. They provided complimentary bread. We ordered a bottle of wine as well. We began with the fois gras and artichoke hazelnut salad which was delicious. The richness of the well seasoned(Salt and pepper?) fois gras was paired wonderfully with the artichoke, olive, and roasted red pepper. I felt when placing a little bit of everything into one bite, the flavors literally danced in my mouth. I split the rack of lamb with potato cake and the turbot with celery root with my husband. I fell in love with the lamb. I rarely eat rack of lamb and enjoy lamb kebabs fairly often, but that was the best lamb dish I’ve ever had. I was fortunate to have the rib that was seared. Perfectly cooked medium… I was in heaven. Not gamey at all. And the potato cake was a delight. They were thin layers of potato stacked together and appeared sauceless, yet there was nice flavor to them. Almost tasted like a scalloped potato dish but without the cheese sauce. The mushrooms that accompanied the lamb was just as delicious. Well-seasoned mushrooms with bites of the lamb were so good. Now onto the turbot. I have had this fish(Greenland turbot I think from Ranch 99) where it has similar buttery consistency to Chilean sea bass. I was excited to choose this but it ended up being not as enjoyable as the lamb. The turbot wasn’t as buttery as the Greenland variety unless this was slightly overcooked by 30-sec if at all. I felt it needed a sauce. What it came topped with was a mixture of olive and tomato. The celery root purée was alright. I’m just not a fan of celery root I guess. It went well with the fish since both are lighter. We decided to skip dessert and order the shrimp tartare which was an appetizer. It was the right choice! I can’t recall everything on it, but the flavors melded so well together. Avocado, diced onion and olives gave richness to the shrimp. Roasted garlic was included on the platter. It was well executed. I wish I could come back here again to have a wonderful dinner.

My wife and I dined at Pouic Pouic recently while in Paris. Because we tend to eat on the earlier side than is typically done in Paris, we were the first ones in the restaurant and both the owner and the waiter were very warm and welcoming — something always pleasant to find in Paris. They were very helpful with the menu, which, typical of many smaller restaurants in Paris, was limited to just a handful of few starters and mains. We settled on the duck breast for me, and my wife had a steak. Both were cooked excellently, with delicious sauces accompanying each. However, my portion size — two fairly good-sized duck breasts — was way too large(even though I’m an American and used to over-sized portions at restaurants). I could only eat one of them, and felt badly for it. I also had a starter, the foie gras, which was also excellent. By the time we had finished our meal, the place was packed and obviously popular. Although a bit hard to find and off the beaten path(which is actually a good thing in my book), it’s well worth a visit the next time you’re in Paris.

Terrible experience. Came based upon reviews. Starters were quite good, although we were disappointed by the limited dinner menu(yes, we knew it was a chalkboard menu). Due to this limited offerings, we each chose«Filet of Beef Tenderloin.» Mine showed up and it was a rib steak(entrecôte). My wife – who despises chewy beef – said«Oh no…» Her’s then showed up – same thing. She took one bite and said«No way.» The waitress saw and we said«Tenderloin?» In her limited English, she said«Beef filet.» They never changed the chalkboard. Or, they thought they could serve tough rib steak to Americans. Whatever the reason, it ruined an important dinner for us. The topper was receiving our check and being charged for three entrees, not two. Simply awful experience.

Booked ourselves a reservation for our first night in Paris, and glad we did. They have an online booking tool, which in itself seems to make for a high ratio of anglo-tourists, but it’s not touristy at all. We did opt for a 7:30 dinner, and the place started filling at 8pm. It was never actually full, but reservations are definitely recommended, as this was only a rainy Tuesday. Service was gracious and attentive and the bistro itself was comfortable and warm — not particularly large, as is true of most Paris restaurants! We took pains to speak French, because we could, and our server was kind enough to let us continue and in fact complimented us for it.(Service to other patrons in English was fine, from what we saw, but we did get a bit more attention for trying!). Menu is available in both English and French. Wine list of «by the glass» is limited but what’s available is good. Full wine list is varied and good. The bar is otherwise limited — they were confounded by a request for a gin martini, though they graciously tried to make one, even though my wife offered to swap for another option. Our meals were exceptionally good and beautifully presented. These were creative, well-prepared dishes based on seasonal foods. From entrees to mains to dessert we greatly enjoyed each dish. Phenomenal work by the chefs! Whether you’re in the 6e or 7e, it’s walkable. Also close to the Mabillon and Saint-Germain-des-Pres stops of the Metro. Though it’s not a dressy place per se, attire is at a minimum smart casual — designer jeans and a shirt and sportcoat were about as casual as we saw all night. Definitely recommended.

This was a delicious meal — excellent overall dining experience. Inventive and modern — my appetizer was sublime — a thick lentil stew with chunks of foie gras and a poached egg on top. The egg was perfectly cooked, and when mixed with the lentils and the foie gras, just created a magnificently rich, velvety sensation. My entrée was fish(mullet) over wok stir-fried vegetables — perfectly executed and flavorful. Though no entrees on the menu were exclusively vegetarian, they prepared a special vegetarian meal for my girlfriend, which she loved. Nice-sized portions, so we were too full for dessert. Great wine selection, but then, what did you expect — its Paris, after all. I’ve been to France many times, Paris several — I’m not exactly an expert, but I think Pouic Pouic has found a great way to blend the traditional French gastronomical experience with a modern twist, both in cuisine and in the more relaxed, modern décor.

Best restaurant I’ve tried in Paris thus far. This restaurant reminded me to skip all the hyped up restaurants(ahem Christian Constant places and anything on Bourdain) and that the smaller restaurants are more authentic and higher in quality. I will visit Pouic Pouic every time I come back!

This place is amazing! It’s small and cozy, and the servers are extremely friendly. I ordered the scallops with carrot purée. Delicious! The scallops were perfectly cooked, the purée was smooth with a subtle carrot flavor, and there were toasted pieces of nuts sprinkled on top for a change in texture. I also sampled my sister’s beef filet, and it had so much flavor. The mashed potatoes were light and creamy. Our table was right near the chef, who clearly loves what he does for he does it well. This has been the best dinner I’ve had in Paris by far! I highly recommend this little restaurant if you’re in the Saint Germain area! Your taste buds will thank you.

Super restau, je recommande. Les plats qu’on a gouté étaient originaux et le mille feuilles en dessert, une tuerie. C’est petit et super convivial, bonne ambiance, vue sur la cuisine où on voit les cuistots bosser, ça change un peu!
