Came here twice both just for convenience since we were staying at the hotel. Both times the food was only almost edible, the meat overcooked and bread super greasy. It was also over priced for the quality. I did order a Mai Tai the first time and didn’t want it sweet so opted out of the pineapple juice, it didnt taste as bad as the food, so wasn’t disappointed, was also on the strong side so didn’t mind that. I think it’s worth more to just pay for a cab and eat elsewhere.

IDK why this place only has 2 stars with only 2 reviews, probably young ‘uns who don’t know the history of this place. This place is a drinking institution!!! Now back in the day(I’m talking way, way back, like in the 1980s, and don’t ask me how I know), the Tree Bar used to be more of an outdoor bar. They have built around the actual tree since then and added more cover, tables, and seating. It’s located at the Guam Hilton and is pretty much poolside, the beach is a short walk down the stairs. They also feature a dinner and dance show(they didn’t have that back then). In the past, there was live music and/or DJs spinning, I don’t know if they still do that, though. You’ll get the tropical breezes off the Philippine Sea and you can get a nice view of hotel row on Tumon Bay from here. The Tree Bar always had flowing cocktails, and let’s face it, if you were an OG bartender on Guam you worked here at least once, and you had mad bartending skills. As for food, I cannot speak on that subject, we usually just end up here for drinks to either begin or end the night. I always find myself visiting the Tree Bar(at least once) when I’m on island, even if just to relive the memories…

While the food and drinks are decent, the«service»(if you can even call it that) is absolutely horrible. It was practically impossible to get someone to take our orders despite sitting directly in the bar area. We asked two separate waitresses for drinks, both of whom smiled but never delivered. It was equally frustrating when we were trying to pay our bill despite(again) asking several waitresses for our bill(and never getting it). We decided to walk up to the register to pay, only to be ignored for another 10 minutes by our waitress. I know this wasn’t an isolated incident because several other customers were expressing similar sentiments regarding the lack of service on that particular Saturday. Based on this experience, I have not been back. There are plenty of beach/pool bars in Guam, don’t waste your time here.

Drinks are awesome, food is average. Hence the four stars, otherwise 5 stars for a full bar! Look for Daga, he’s very creative if you order off menu and the prices are the same. You can get the same drinks at Roy’s restaurant upstairs but the bartenders stick to the menu. So if you’re adventurous on your drinks, this is a good place similar to the bars of Ginza in Tokyo! Happy hour gives you more bang for your buck and you get free mixed snacks!
