Made a reservation before going. Turned out that the restaurant is largely empty when I arrived. Still good practice to make a reservation before going, but it seems like the popularity of this restaurant is not that great. Everything is nice here, the food, the drinks, the vibe, the service and the price. Great wagyu dining at a reasonable price. I ordered a bowl of rice to complement the awesome taste of meat. The rice is $ 20 a bowl but totally worth the price — rice is soft with a sweet touch. Perfectly complemented the rich greasy taste of wagyu(and my rice sake). Imagine the juicy and fat wagyu exploded in your mouth and you accompany that with soft sweet jap rice — the feeling is totally out of this world. Apart from sake, they also serve draft beer. Nice play 298 — shut up and take my money!

Being a casual and lower-priced version of 298 Nikuya Room, 298 Nikuya Kitchen does do a good job in keeping the same standard as its sister restaurant. This small Japanese BBQ diner serves high quality food like A5 wagyu. There are also other cooked items like noodle and rice. We have ordered A5 wagyu filet, ox tongue with onion & garlic, raw beef with egg, tenderloin, ox tongue with pepper and miso spicy chicken. Nicely seasoned with different characters, all the dishes are my favourites, which paired so well with the draught beef. Lovely~

One of my delicious meals when I was last in Hong Kong a few months ago. EVERYTHING was delicious. Having Japanese BBQ in Asia pretty much ruined Japanese BBQ for me here in the states. Actually, having Japanese food in Asia in general ruined it for me. It’s tough now to enjoy a Japanese meal back at home in the states. We ordered the typical meats, the tongue, skin etc, ALLDELICIOUS! PANCAKE — two thumbs up!
