If you have a clean«drinkable» soup base without the MSG to dunk in with all the freshest ingredients possible then you are having a very«decent» Cantonese style hotpot, «Decent» hotpot places are hard to come by in Hong Kong and so far this is the only place I recommend. Their clams and blue swimmer crab soup base is a must try, after the first sip, you will immediately know this is the«real deal». For those who likes chicken hotpot, this is also a specialty here. What I still don’t understand about HongKong hotpot restaurant is that almost 99% of the time they also pretend to be a Japanese restaurant to serve you sashimi of random sorts in a huge glass bowl topped with ice and decorations of some sort. This hybrid business model appeals only to the locals.
