The moment you walk into Dressed you are confused because you don’t know where to begin your order and there are no prices anywhere on the menu boards. Also no «order here» signs. They do a online order service but I really cannot comment on how much of that contributes to the walk in traffic. Had to ask someone for a proper menu which I could not find anywhere. This place is busy yes; during peak hours 12pm-2pm. This can be misleading and seem like it’s a good spot. But anything in IFC during lunch hours is busy doesn’t matter where. Everyone working here just wants food. The food is pricey too spent about HKD170 for pasta and salad. Good meat portions. Food tasted good but had to get more salad dressing. Pasta portions could be a bit bigger. 2 stars for the food being ok. But the overall experience was daunting. Also just hate the fact that they didn’t post the prices anywhere visible(felt like intentional way to rip off customers) and being crunched for time made it stressful. Try to avoid during lunch time if possible.

I can never believe why Dressed is quite so busy. With queues snaking out of the store every lunchtime, it must be the food that is drawing in the punters, rather than their ridiculous policy of being the most inflexible and slowest fast food joint in the world. Let’s start with the food. It is a range of salads, soups, pastas, and paninis, all of which are well prepared, if not a bit over priced, with a salad costing around HKD99. The salads are the main draw, with a good range of over 20 to choose from. However, therein lies the rub… You cannot change the salads, from those designated on the menu. You have to order exactly what is on the menu, or build your own from scratch. Now, I get why they don’t want you to allow too many changes, otherwise it may just as well be like building a salad from scratch. But to change the dressing, or to hold the tomatoes, this is not possible without rebuilding from scratch, every single item. Yes my friends, if you want exactly as is it on the menu, but without pine-nuts, you have to build salad from scratch. Who cares you may ask? Well, custom salads which are chargeable by the item are significantly, about 20%, more expensive. On top of this completely with ridiculous way of offering their menu, dressed never seems to be able to get an order correct, especially if you try to go for one of the aforementioned custom-built salads. Three of the last three times I visited, they either forgot an item(coincidentally the most expensive produce!), added dressing rather than on the side, or just forgot to make it. It is this sloppy service and punitive inflexibility that is driving me away. However, judging by the queues, I must be the only person who likes to get good value, and what I actually ask for!

Years of being in Hong Kong has made me, appreciably, bigger(eh hm fat). This place is filled with bars, restaurants and eventually you find yourself having about 5 different«meals» a day because there is just so much stuff to eat. As part of my plan to cut back on my excesses,(small print: has to be combined with regular exercise and controlled diet), I have decided to go «green» for my lunch. This, in the past, would have been easy because Pret was always somewhere I can rely on in having food that’s not been cooked with a dollop of oil. problem is I haven’t got one around me– so I ended up trying«Dressed». Dressed is essentially a salad bar that gives you a wide range of salads, sandwiches, pastas and soups to choose from. It dispelled my fear that this place would turn out into a vegan heaven– thankfully this turned out to be untrue where they do have meat options to choose from as well. Everything here though is about a light lunch– from the portions they serve to the way they serve it, everything aims to bring you a healthier choice whilst still letting you indulge in what you like. I really like the idea that I can have a bit of what I like and I don’t need to think how much of each I could have(since the portions are well controlled). some may complain that its not«healthy enough» in that they do use quite a bit of sauce and so on but for me I think this is as far as I will go. Anything further I will find myself quite depressed at lunch times. Its not cheap– sets will set you back a fair 60 – 100 depending on what you opt for. It is though, comfortable, healthy and quick– all in all I think well worth the money.

I love salad. I’m not trying to be a health nut, but I just really, genuinely adore salad. So when I passed by Dressed and saw that they specialized in salad, I couldn’t resist not having an early dinner there. Since it was barely 6pm, the place was quite empty and there were only two other diners. It was only when I walked inside and had a look at a menu that I realized that this place was pretty expensive for something as simple as just salad. $ 73 for a DIY salad? I know this is IFC and all, but that’s a steep price for salad. But I was here anyway so I decided to just go for it. I love being able to DIY when it comes to food and considering all the different possibilities. For the lettuce, I went with my favorite — iceberg, and I was allowed four toppings. I took my time to decide and in the end settled for croutons, tomatoes, cucumber and corn. I basically didn’t consider any of the toppings that required you to add a surcharge, which narrowed my selection by quite a bit, just because I felt like I was already paying enough. The salad was a decent portion, although for $ 74 I expected a little more. Unfortunately, the whole thing was a bit of a letdown — some of the lettuce leaves had already browned at the edges and were kind of falling flat, so it was obvious that the lettuce was not fresh. This was really disappointing because as a specialty restaurant — a specialty in salad, you owe it to your paying customers to provide salad that’s actually fresh. The toppings were all okay, nothing to write home about. The tomatoes and the cucumber seemed fresher than the lettuce itself. Needless to say, I won’t be back. The salad was pretty expensive, and not even fresh! It was no surprise by the quality of it that by the time I was done with my salad, there was only me and one other table occupied(although I did see a couple of people getting takeaways).
