If I could give zero stars, I would. An inexperienced woman named Michelle, I think, did a TERRIBLE job on my lashes. I’ve had lash extensions done before, even done before at this location, and this woman did the worst job I have ever had. My lashes are falling out after two days, they are uneven, crooked, and clumpy. They look like the 4 week mark, and I’m barely at Day 3. No, I have not wet them, I have not used oil-​based products, I have not rubbed my eyes, I have only taken meticulous care of the crappy hack job Michelle did.
In the past, this location has taken no more than one hour to do my lashes. Since my eyes were closed, I did not realize until after I had paid that Michelle took over two hours! I should have listened to my screaming instincts when I was assigned to Michelle; everything about her screamed inexperience — she did not know what size to use and had to ask someone to advise her, applied the tape in a way that made my eyes hurt and water, and threaded my brows and lip poorly (I could tell that she wasn’t pulling hair from the root, so the hair will grow back too quickly).
Hatoe absolutely knows this woman has no business working by herself on customers, and shame on them for pawning her off on me. I am furious. Unfortunately, I took a flight from Hong Kong out of the country, otherwise I would go back and immediately demand my money back. Buyer beware — if they assign someone who is hesitant in her work, stop her immediately. You will save yourself $ 580, which is what I wasted after their $ 100 upsell on «new product» and threading. They have lost my trust.

I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical the first time I came here last year, mostly due to the lack of privacy during treatments. However, I’ve returned several times since then to get eyelash extensions done. The whole process takes about an hour, and is HK$ 380 a pop, which I find to be reasonable. A package of three treatments will set you back HK$ 1,000. Staff are professional and clearly skilled at what they are doing. I’ve been very pleased with the results, and the lashes have lasted me anywhere between 4 – 6 weeks, depending on how careful I am when removing eye makeup (avoid oil-​based makeup removers to make your lashes stay longer). If you accidentally pull out a few of the lashes, you can return to get a repair (at an extra cost.) Reservations are highly encouraged and remember to bring plenty of cash – credit cards are not accepted.

Saw Sassy HK’s review on it so came here to check out their eyelash extension service. I’ve tried Nova Lash (US co), Plurecil (Japanese co) and some local beauty salons in Causeway Bay. I’m not entirely satisfied with either one yet so it’s my goal to try more beauty salons around town before I settle for a package.
Pros:
— Convenient location. Right above Sheung Wan MTR exit A2.
— Very reasonable and affordable pricing. Even if you don’t buy packages with them, it’s just $ 380. For reference, Nova @ ~$ 1k; Plurecil @ ~$ 800 and other local salon at around $ 500 each time. You get a very basic set up. I guess that’s one of the ways that they keep the cost low.
— Relatively quick turnaround time. It took the lady about an hour. For reference, Nova @ 1.5 hr; Plurecil @ a little more than 1hr and local salon @ 40 mins
Cons:
— No privacy. Set up can be considered as quite ghetto for some.
— Does not accept credit card payment. Cash only.
— Wait time. Maybe because I came here right before Chinese New Year, I need to wait a little bit even though I have made an appointment with them.
— If you don’t speak Chinese, you might have problem communicating to them. So be sure you have google translate ready /​have a friend translate for you.
It’s my first day doing it so i’ll come back to complete my review when i know how long my lashes last.

After being brought by a friend to Hatoe in January, now I am here every month to get my eyelashes done. You certainly don’t need a google map to find Hatoe as it’s located in a commercial building right next to Sheungwan station Exit A, which is really convenient and easy to find. To avoid waiting for hours, remember to make a reservation every time before you go and avoid going there at busy hours like lunch hours or after work around 6pm to 7pm. They can get really busy. If I were you, I wouldn’t risk going there without prior booking.
So, what do they do? As their name suggests, they do manicure and beauty related services, such as basic facial, eyebrow retouch and their very popular eyelash extensions. I come here for eyelash extension every time because it’s cheap but with great service and most importantly, you can get beautiful, long and thick lashes. It takes at most 45 mins to get your lashes done, usually around 30 mins as the ladies there are so experienced, thereby they can get your lashes done really quick.
An advice for you is remember to avoid using oil-​based cleansers to remove your eye makeup after the eyelash extension and not to rub your eyes!
