Very good coffee — ordered a flat white — it felt more like a latte but was good. Too bad this place is closing down :(

Guess there must be too many good coffee in HK now. It’s just quite hard to stand out. Rabbithole serves hand brew specialty coffee which a lot of other shops are doing. As I’m more into the normal latte, I benchmark the shops with latte. And the latte here is smooth and smells good. However it needs more complex flavour to be awarded a the fifth star. The environment is good and quiet. The high table arrangement making it for chilled and stead of like a study room. Like this place tho, and the coffee here. Will come back when I’m around wan chai.

Nice little coffee place serving excellent coffee of different roasts and a small but very delicious sandwich selection for lunch. Recommended!

The coffee is brilliant as one would expect. Food too. But what sets this place apart is the warmth of the staff in helping you pick a coffee to try and then chatting with you after your first sips. Creates a much better experience and leaves you wanting to come back again to try new lends and learn more about them.

Thats a 5 stars right there for the coffee alone. It’s «safe» enough to drink an expresso based coffee. Safe being the definition of drinkable coffee for a coffee snob(I’m not really a hardcore coffee snob, but I do like good coffee).

Nice staff, good coffee. This was probably the best coffee I had in Asia in general. Very cute little shop, nice little outdoor seating in the back. The patrons here are not very nice, but the staff is :) Cappuccino was well done, and the croissant was edible, but not great.

Best coffee Ive ever tasted in my life. Hands down. That’s saying a lot. The complexity of the taste is seriously out of this world. The price definitely reflects it. But wowww. When you make this amazing coffee you can charge whatever you want.

RabbitHole Coffee & Roaster is a nice change of pace from daily routine of HK style milk tea. I love everything here. From their in house roasted beans, the skill of the barista and the finished produce. But this is definitely not something I can splurge on everyday. A cup of macchiato($ 32) equals to full breakfast somewhere else down the street. But good well crafted espresso coffee is not easy to find in Hong Kong. My sister who is not a coffee drinker was really happy with her babycino($ 20) which is really a frothed milk with drizzle of chocolate syrup. Love the space. The bartop though a little tricky to seat on. Staff is just wonderful! Even offer some single origin pour over coffee for us to try.

Rabbithole Coffee and Roasters is a tiny café on Cochrane St, in Central Hong Kong. Finding the Rabbithole was not an easy task. «Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?» Look for the green sign to Iyara and the place that sells snake stew and go up two flights of stairs. We found a little open patio balcony in the back of the apartment overlook other apartments and even someone lazying beneath enjoying the concert forest. For us it was to relax and play catch up. The waitress welcomed us and presented the menus with brewing methods and ratios. I’m glad they were friendly(without the arrogance) and wasn’t esoteric. The selection all pointed to a fruity-sour note and I wanted something that was more earthy, more nutty. When I asked the server she didn’t seem to have a clue what I was talking about? I switched channels from English to Cantonese and still it was like I was speaking alien. I went with Fairtrade Indonesia Sumatra Permata Gayo. It was fair, not rich but had a earthy body with a leathery taste. Latte: with Fair Trade Honduras blend of dark chocolate. Iced American Espresso: presented with a giant ice cube with this fruity tasting Ethiopia Yirgacheffe blend. At this point I questioned myself why I didn’t option for an ice drink under this sweltering humid heat. As I am waiting for my coffee to cool down, my eye drifting at the busyness of Hong Kong, where people dashed from one place to another, much like in Chungking Express. I am thankful to be on vacation. I can shut down my brain. I do not have to worry about popping into the nearest Starbucks to check my email.

RabbitHole was my life line while in Hong Kong. Each visit resulted in a delicious coffee and a faster beating heart. Pretty much the ideal, right? Yes, the coffee is great. There are single origins to try, either as a filter or espresso, and every variation I tried(with and without milk) was spot on and perfectly made. My favourite was the«Barista Latte» which is my preferred ratio of espresso to milk(called a magic in Melbourne) and good for those of you who like a strong coffee but with the sweetness of milk. The vibe here is relaxed. There is cool music, big tables to sit at and free local press to flip through. But the best bit of the whole experience here was the service which was friendly, attentive and informative when I wanted to ask questions about the coffee. Top marks. I’ll be back.
