As I wonder around Electric Road in Tin Hau, I came across this little gem. It serves Taiwanese street foods! They have things such as egg crepes, scallion pancakes, and Taiwanese style milk tea. I had their egg crêpe with meat floss($ 25) and there was SO much meat floss in it that my mouth actually got dry and I choked on it. The owner was also super friendly and very talkative. I definitely want to come back and try some of the other stuff here. There are only three-ish streets at the counter so don’t plan to sit here.

We came here after seeing the high ratings on Open Rice. There is only street-side countertop seating, but that was fine for my husband and I. The owner is very friendly and also very excited about sharing his Taiwanese snacks with Hong Kongers and tourists alike. He speaks English very well and will readily make recommendations if you ask(or don’t ask). We got the meat floss crêpe/wrap and it was super tasty. If you’ve never had meat floss before you might not be a fan, so just go in with an open mind. My husband got a burger which was good but nothing to blow you away. Next time I’d like to try the scallion pancakes. Mango bubble tea was also okay, next time I would stick with the Taiwanese milk tea. Lots of people getting take out, definitely give it a try!

Hongkongers always have a thing with Taiwan. When it comes to Taiwan, people just cannot stop talking about how nice its people are, how cheap and delicious its street food are, and the list goes on and on. I still remembered a year ago when I was in Taiwan I felt like I gained ten pounds after the trip as I just could not stop eating! So you may understand how ecstatic I was when I stumbled upon this place — S-Yoco. First off let’s talk about its logo, cuteness overload people. It melts my heart to see two smiley toasts standing next to each other in a pan.(Well you know how smart the boss is to have designed this to get the attention from the girls here…) Before I even sat down, the boss here has already begun greeting me and telling me what I should try. I was very pleased with his enthusiasm in his food and his business. It gives out such friendliness that you will come across when you are in Taiwan. Since there are so many options of egg wraps and burgers here, I listened to him and allowed him to pick one for me. Later he served me with pork floss egg wraps, there are so many different ingredients you can choose from including tuna, bacon, ham or cheese. The pork floss was delicious very crispy. The egg wraps too were very thin and freshly made(in front of your eyes actually). I am extremely pleased with the food here and that only cost me HKD$ 30. The boss also recommended me to try the coffee there but as I was kind of craving for some milk tea and I had to pass. Overall, it is very rare to come by authentic Taiwanese street food here in Hong Kong, let alone a place with a passionate boss. Come try it and you will see what I mean.
