Wanya Japanese Restaurant

Great place for lunch! Service is exceptionally better for my because my family have been coming here for decades. Their meals aren’t necessarily the cheapest, but the food quality is pretty good, considering what you get and where this place is.
If you’re feeling kind of hungry, the set meals will suit you just fine, but if you’re absolutely famished, you can take advantage of their all-​you-​can eat which even includes unlimited sashimi, on top of the standard cooked dishes, miso soup and sushi rolls. Do keep in mind that the all-​you-​can-​eat menu may cost twice as much as the typical set meal.
This place serves really good nigiri sushi and sashimi, so by all means try their sashimi bowl. An added plus is that since they moved to L Place, they started using real wasabi (i.e. they appear to mash it themselves) versus squeezing the stuff that comes out of a tube. They’re also great at teppanyaki dishes, particularly for beef, and their grilled dishes. I’m an especially big fan of their grilled silver cod, which is really flaky, and has a certain sweetness to it.
If you’re around Central, this is definitely the place to be for Japanese food, though it may be wise to get a booking in case they’re filled up.
