the most lavish buffet we’ve been to just yet. in the US the buffets cost half the price and sometimes a third. my only gripe is not having drinks included for a buffet that will cost $ 115 usd a person! the options are good for those who like seafood. theres a small selection of sushi and an area for asian fusion hot food. we came to try the hairy crabs which they rarely sell in the US. there is plenty of dessert — my first green tea chocolate fountain. we also got a last min reservation and had a great table right by the food, thanks to a friend in hk who hooked us up with the f&b manager. he even came by to greet us — courteous staff and great experience.

I was here for a weekday lunch buffet, and I was quite disappointed on the quality and variety of food that I got. Again: the review is for a weekday lunch buffet. Sashimi — the quality is good but nothing special. All they have is salmon, tuna, octopus. They are of good quality but I expected more variety. Roast Beef — It looked so dried up that I thought I was visiting an off-strip C-grade Vegas buffet. Dessert bar — the only thing that’s above average. Good variety and the taste’s alright. I wouldn’t come here just for this though — they don’t even have macaroon during weekday lunch. Go elsewhere for lunch. It’s not worth it.

Very popular buffet in HK. I’ve done the dinner buffet twice, which includes just about everything you can imagine… salad, breads, cheese, cold cuts, sushi, lobster, sashimi, soups, meats, etc. Breakfast buffet is equally extensive with a waffle station, omelet station, fresh baked goods, yogurt, eggs, sausage, assorted cheese, dim sun, and more. As much as I’ve enjoyed the buffets, I like the«a la carte» menu better. Here you can really enjoy the real kitchen skills of the chefs working, plus you have more interaction with the servers, who are always very formal and friendly. Lunch is my preferred time to be there. It’s not too crowded so, usually there’s no wait time. I usually start with a Strawberries and Cream Ice tea. Has the strawberry flavor with the smooth notes of the cream but not sweet, and it’s very refreshing. The fries are always cooked perfectly, the meal I remember most is the, perfectly cooked Lobster & Scallops Risotto. The Lobster Bisque is deliciously comforting, and very flavorful. Another favorite was the Mira-Misu. Love the presentation, simple but pretty. The Latte is always great! Not bitter, and right temperature. They also offer salads, sandwiches and Pasta dishes. The restaurant is comfortable, simply decorated with big modern chandeliers and wavy white walls, to match the entrance of the Mira Hotel, where the restaurant is located. To the back, you will see two thick, almost ocean color, glass walls full with wines and this gives way to the kitchen and buffet area. The restaurant, at lunch time is perfect for business meetings as well. As I said, not too crowded, and big enough tables to discuss documents while enjoying some refreshments. If staying at the Mira Hotel, it’s a no brainer… it’s convenient, and delicious; if you’re looking for a generous buffet, whether you’re staying at the hotel or not, this is a great option.

I used to really like high tea in Hong Kong when there wasn’t that serious hype and every single year, one of my aunties would take me to tea. This past summer, the took me to a «tea buffet» and it was… interesting. I must say that the presentation of the food just wasn’t that great nor was the taste of anything for that matter. It felt like I was going to a lunch buffet rather than actually going to a nice afternoon tea. The whole time I was there, it was just not a relaxing experience due to the constant hustle and bustle of people grabbing food; nor did the food make up for it. Overall, I was a bit disappointed with this place. Don’t think I’d come back.

Yamm is perhaps my most frequently visited buffet place in Hong Kong. I’ve been here for approximately 6 – 8 times since The Mira reopened in 2009. For someone who doesn’t actually like to have buffets(as I just can’t eat that much), coming here at least once a year is quite a lot. The reason that I keep coming back is that it offers all kinds of food that my family likes. My mom likes to eat lobsters, crabs and shrimp. My dad likes to eat desserts. My sister and I like to eat sashimi. That’s the beauty of having buffets — eat what you want. Yamm has always been well-known for serving very fresh seafood and yummy desserts. However, during my most recent visit, I find that the quality of the sashimi and oysters has dropped compared to my last few visits. I’m not sure if I’m being spoiled by eating too much good Japanese food and oysters recently. I just wish their oysters were bigger and the sashimi was more fresh(especially the uni). For those who don’t care about cholesterol, there’s all-you-can-eat foie gras! As for desserts, I’m not a big fan of cakes and puddings but I love the fact that they serve one of my favorite brands of ice cream — Mövenpick! Yamm is relatively easier to book and not as pricey as some of its competitors in Tsim Sha Tsui. Overall, I would still recommend Yamm if you’re looking for a buffet place with a wide selection of food, especially different choices of sashimi and desserts.
