Really enjoyed visiting this no frills, maximum taste sandwich shop. Ok so maybe there’s better sandwiches I’ve had across the world but what they do here is good honest deli subs with fresh ingredients and some good variety on the menu. I visited 3 times in a week — first off the breakfast selection is pretty good, I opted for the bacon and avocado roll which really hit the spot! For lunch the special roast pork one was also right on the money. Not bad coffee too. Overall a decent place to sit in or to get a quick snack to go. 7 Euros for a sandwich and a coffee.

This is the kind of place that you get when people are passionate about what they do, you come here for a sandwich, you get one of the best sandwiches on this planet. I hope the quality and consistency of this place never changes, it’s such a lovely spot that I always go out of my way to get to.

Doughboys is dope. Great food, great coffee, great staff. It seems to be modelled on a New york style deli. The bread is so fresh and wholesome, and the décor is so tasteful. The Cali chicken and the meatball are two of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had.

Top lads, top sandwiches. The food in here is modelled on some of NYC’s finest. If you consider yourself a sandwich aficionado be sure to give it a go. The Club Dough is their most popular but keep an eye out for their once famous Chicken Parm, I hear it’s making a come back.

Yummy yummy sandwiches! I held off for ages trying them as the price is a little over my lunch budget but finally tried the California Club — € 6.50. It was the perfect pick me up on a rainy Tuesday — think its gonna be my new hangover lunch. The chipotle mayo is divine. Have tried the salads from here before and enjoyed them.

Went there for lunch — it wasn’t too busy around 12.30 as most people take away. But nice to sit too. Around 6 choices of sandwiches and 4 – 5 of salads. Can have sandwich with a bun or toasted. They all have a special twist. Had the Ham and cheese toastie with coleslaw and Dijon inside — very good. The size is just perfect. Around 5 – 6.50 for a sandwich and totally worth it. Super nice staff too.

The California chicken sandwich was lovely as was the soup of the day, roast sweet potato. Nice spot, good coffee also and a big window to stare out of. Recommended.

Food is delicious but this place is a rip off. I rarely can finish a standard portion from any other place but when it comes to Dough Boys I feel still hungry straight after eating my lunch. Not to mention the prices are high. With the new recently introduced menu I feel paying even more and getting even less. Last time I paid 8,50EUR for tiny salad and small soup and I was starving an hour later. I’m the only one girl in the office, and I cannot convince any of my colleagues to go there after they tried it once — portions are just too small and prices are just too high. But as mentioned, the food tastes good.

The quality of the food and whole vibe of the place is on point. Good guac in Dublin is difficult to come by but this place nailed it. Creamy texture and full of fresh flavours. The coffee has a wonderful aroma to it and the soup I had today completed the 5* experience.

Love this place. Sandwiches — all the various types — are delicious and really fresh. I recommend the oatmeal raisin cookies, if they’ve made a batch. Oh yeah, and the coffee is great, too! Really dead on guys who run the place. My favourite place for lunch in this area.

Is it wrong to compare them to 147 Deli, Green Bench and Oxmantown? If so, discount everything I say. If not, then prepare to feel a little disappointed. I do think it is fair. That’s where any self-respecting doughboy should be aiming. The bacon reminded me of the stuff O’Briens used to litter in their chicken and bacon double decker. The tomato was the pale beefy kind, having more in common with a turnip than sun-blush. The bun was a little raw in the middle. I’d walked 30 minutes to try their grub. I’ll try the porchetta another day, before scratching them off my hit list. Fingers crossed.

Why do people under rate sandwiches. It’s like chips, if they’re done well, they’re amazing. These sandwiches are amazing! So amazing that when I arrived at 2pm, they’d sold out of their special. No worries, we had the club and the meatball and split them. Honestly, I think the club is right up there as nicest sandwich in Dublin. Everything tasted fresh and even the bread itself was delicious and warm. Will 100% be back and earlier next time so I can try that porchetta special!

Had a roast beef sandwich and it wasn’t amazing. Very friendly staff and quick/efficient service. Unfortunately with the pig & heifer next door I can’t say this is the go to place for a good sandwich in the area. Maybe the meatball sandwich will change my mind

Can’t thank these people enough for having a sambo on their menu with chipotle mayo… such a rarity in Dublin! Got the club and it was worth every penny, really friendly guys in there also!

Really lovely staff and a good strong coffee. I haven’t eaten here yet but will plan on dropping by soon, as the menu looks very different, in a good way!

Went up to Harcourt St. today with a brief knowledge of these guys. Had no battery in the phone so finding the place was going to be difficult but I found it eventually! What a spot! Was greeted buy the lads who asked me what I wanted straight away. Had a good idea what I wanted but I had to take a look at the spot. Very nice, very nice. Anyway, I got the Meatball sambo. € 6.50 is well worth it. This beats the subway one by a massive mile! Great lunch and you will be expecting a regular customer now and I hope you stay busy busy busy! Seal of approval from Etho

Came here during a workday — foot traffic was slow when we arrived around 12pm, but once it hit 12:30pm the place was bustling! There’s some communal picnic table and bench seating so come early if you want to nab a spot. My colleague ordered the meatball sandwich(and luckily let me sneak a bite) — it was so good. I myself ordered the club — delicious!!! My favourite part of the club was the chipotle mayo.

Tasty fillings on a fresh and crispy roll. Winning! I’m delighted to say that I received the first sandwich ever served by dough boys, a club dough to be exact. And boy was it good! Turkey, bacon, lettuce, cheese, tomato and some wonderful sauce(god knows what it was… chipotle maybe?) My favourite part? Probably the cheese… it was a good mature white cheddar. The bread itself was also amazing!!! Fresh and crispy… just like it should be! The lads who run the place are great craic and incredibly friendly too! They even gave me a free coffee which was super nice of them! I’ll be back!

I was really excited to see this place opening up. Having lived in America for the past 4 years, Doughboys seems to be going for that atmosphere of American food and hipster nature. I went here for a breakfast sandwich. Very American: Bacon, Egg and Cheese on a roll. The guy who served me at the till was super friendly and does a great job at building rapport. My sandwich was pretty good. The only thing is the price: € 5.00 for a small breakfast sandwich. I have also heard the sandwiches can be a little pricey at lunch. Otherwise there is plenty of seating and the coffee is good.

I said I wasn’t going to review it as it was their first day. But dyu know what, I actually don’t see why not. As first days go, I have to say it was pretty goddam perfect. Things I loved: — The friendly greeting we got from the chef /owner /lads when we came in. Excellent customer service with a smile and a bit of craic — exactly what you want on a lunchtime break — The sambo. Sweet jesus it was so good. I took a giant risk and went for the cauliflower, feta, pinenuts & pickled lychee combo. Yep it’s a weird one. But it was SO flavoursome and seriously good. It wasn’t massive, but actually to be fair it was just the right amount. — The brownie. Rich, decadent and difficult to finish to one’s self. — The branding /décor — very of the current ‘pared down’ school of thought. I’m sure you won’t need me to go into it as it’s being replicated around the place a million times over, however that doesn’t mean to say it’s not perfect. Things I didn’t love: — Nothing! Keep doing what you’re doing lads! (I am reserving the five stars to see what they come up with next, once the full menu is in full swing)
