BEST meal in 16 days of England and Ireland, and I liked most of my meals. If you are from Cali and are used to fresh veggies and fresh fish, this is the place to satisfy that need in a land full of meat and potatoes. Six of us were happy with our meals. Mine was the special of the night, Monk fish in a light sauce with saffron rice. Rice is hard to find in the UK unless you go to Indian food and I was the only one who wanted that. The side dish of vegetables was the best prepared and best variety. Not over cooked, broccoli, green beans and other things I didn’t identify. Sadly, I was too full to finish it all.

Not a huge seafood lover but my girlfriend is Japanese so I don’t have a choice most times :) Was meant to go to Mourne seafood over Christmas but they were closed the day I was around so I only managed to get there last weekend. I highly recommend the spicy crab cakes and the Monkfish curry dish they do as a special. The quality of fish was great and the price was way more reasonable than I expected.

Food below average. Salad on my starter looked a bit second hand. I had salmon for main — no taste just ehhh blehh — big disappointment — didn’t even go for dessert. Will not go back.

A group of us came here after having enjoyed our dinner at Mourne’s in Belfast. The view from the restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the dinner was excellent. If you’re looking for some excellent fresh seafood in Dublin, this is your place!

I had a really nice Friday lunch here and I must say the location is spectacular. It’s tucked away, so you’d miss it walking by on the main road but overlooks the canal and grand canal square. Bonus that it’s now just minutes away from our new office too! I ordered the grilled turbot(with mash and broccoli sprouts), which was one of the lunch specials that day. It was fresh and cooked perfectly… a great value for € 12. They also have a few craft beers available which made me happy enough. The one let-down was the service. They were really slow to check up on us, refill empty glasses and it took ages to get our bill. In the end, I had to leave my friend with an apologetic«I owe you next time» and just run back to work because I couldn’t wait any longer. Other than that, I still really enjoyed my meal here and would love to come back for dinner at some point.

I’ve not eaten here yet. This review is for the bar portion. Its a nice little spot to sit and relax with a drink. I reckon once summer hits it will be jammers and not possible to get near the place. It gets the evening sun. Hubby loves the Oyster Stout. They have a small cocktail list and they are decent cocktails.

We were on our way to fresh to get a sambo, but walked past a big sign from this seafood restaurant: AWARDWINNING Seafood Chowder 6EURO. This had to be checked out. When we sat down in the empty, bright, modern room we were given the lunch menu. The express menu had starters on it from 7 euro upwards. Erm. Wait, what happened to the 6 euro chowder? After inquiring, the lady told us the sign outside was wrong. GRMBL– talk about false advertising! Well, not going to make a fuss over a euro, but then I read the previous reviewer who went there in February and got her chowder for a fiver. That’s some hefty price increase in the space of two months! But as my colleague said: the chowder was definitely worth the 7 euro. Lovely big bowl, two big chunks of fresh bread. I was stuffed afterwards. As a fish lover, I would like to go back here. especially on a sunny day, as they have tables outside and a lovely view over the water.

I really loved this place. You have to go on a nice day when it’s sunny to enjoy the whole experience of the beautiful Quay as the whole restaurant is surrounded by windows! The oysters here are phenomenal. I loved the different mignettes they served with them. They have all different kinds of beer available which is nice. I ordered the scallop linguine which was delish! I enjoyed it immensely. My friend ordered the turbot which was yummy and perfectly cooked. I really enjoyed everything about it here EXCEPT the service. The service here sucks… A lot. They were so slow for everything, and when I asked for a second glass of wine the waiter goes«another one?»(Who does that?!) and it took ages to get our food and bill. I found the waiter to be rude and condescending(«oh it’s fine but not everyone knows what a mignette is») I wish they had better service to go with the great meal. What a let down.

On my ‘to check out list’ for quite some time, this bright and modern restaurant offers surprisingly good value. I’ve only ever been for lunch and they do have an ‘express lunch menu’ with meals starting from 5Euro. Yes, 5 Euro buys you a big bowl of seafood chowder and two big slices of brown bread with butter. Sweet! They do have a lobster burger on their lunch menu which is just amazing! I can’t comment on their wine menu as I’ve just been here on working lunches. They also do have an oyster bar and Tuesday night is lobster night. Half a lobster for 15Euro. Book in advance.

Great meal @ Mourne Seafood Dublin. Got the perfect table overlooking the canal. Great attentive and friendly staff. Had crab claws for starters which were excellent and the mackerel special for mains. Hard to beat. Lovely French wine. Perfect evening. The restaurant is out if the centre but if you’re staying in this area or want some great seafood head this way. Thoroughly recommend.

Just by grand canal, superb location. Some dishes way to small, the ceviche was ridiculously tiny for the price. However, the fish cake absolutely awesome, mussels were very good too. We had brownie as a dessert, maybe one of the best we ever had. Cool staff. Nice selection of beers too.

Beautiful location, really well cooked seafood, excellent wine list… this place was almost full on a Tuesday night and it’s easy to see why. Great selection of really fresh fish… desserts were great too. I’ve been twice now .am a fan!

This is a great seafood restaurant with an amazing bar attached. I watched the construction of this place as I live across the canal. I was happy to finally get a chance to go there when they opened and was even more excited to find it was a proper seafood restaurant. The food is brilliant, the staff are lovely, and the bar side, which is separate, is very cool as it totally opens up so its like sitting outside, but do not worry as they have an abundant number of outside tables as well all overlooking Grand Canal. They have a selection of craft beers on draught and we had a few dishes here each which was lovely. I will definable be back for food and more importantly drinks by the canal on a nice day out sure.
