Holland and Barrett

A go to if I am looking for any sort of vitamin or supplement. Lovely staff who that will answer any question and the endless sales are on so you can always find a deal.

Healthy food dream! Such a huge range of healthy supplements and vitamins!
I usually pop in there for some Omega Fish Oil and Spirulina food supplements, they often have specials on these products.
They also have loyalty cards in place, I always use mine, sure why not to save a few bob!

I shop in Holland and Barrett loads. Got my chia seeds from here… yummy all Holland and Barrett shops are pretty much the same. If you are in here, then you know what you want:)

A few ago I personally feel that it’s better to choose a natural remedy than a pharmaceutical one. I was in Holland and Barrett and I got a few things, some pumpkin seeds, some green tea, and other stuff. The staff are very polite and they helped me to choose what I really need. They have a wide range of products.
If you do not know a product you can ask and you will get an explanation about it.

Well it’s a giant faceless UK chain so immediately they are on the back foot with me. Having said that when you are counting the pennies they can have some good deal and nearly always have a buy one get one free offer on. The staff on Grafton Street are very friendly and helpful and the store is quite large so has a good range of products

Holland and Barrett, where you can find every vitamin under the sun. As people are becoming more heath conscious and concerned about their wellbeing, I find this place is a life saver. They have a range of everything from multi-​vitamins to supplements to different little healthy food items. Vitamins can be a bit expensive but every few weeks they have a buy one get the second for 1 cent sale so it makes it much more affordable to get what you need or to stock up for next time. Staff are very helpful as I had many of questions and they had an answer for them all. I signed up to the Holland and Barrett rewards card which allows you to gain points for coupons for discounts based off your spending. All and all, I spent € 66.00 and got € 120.00 worth of products. I can definitely say «winning» on this occasion!

I’m sure there might be bargains to be had in this store. I Just haven’t seen any. For example I went in this week looking for extra virgin coconut oil. They have a 500 ml jar selling for 22.99. That is almost twice the amount I paid for extra virgin coconut oil (not the same brand) in the organic supermarket in Blackrock.
I think the 1 cent sale is not good value at all. The first item on the irish site in their 1 cent sale is

I haven’t done the math, but I reckon you would save a helluva lot of money going with Aldi for this particular product

This store is like Boots on a bad day; it is always cramped and crowded. Last time I was there, they had a line of 10 people at the register and one frustrated sales clerk. She was doing her best, but she really needed help.
The store reminds me of a GNC shop in the USA. It’s very corporate looking. They have those paint-​bucket-​size cans of Ultra Bulk-​Up protein powder and sales clreks who look like Scientologists on the verge of a breakdown. (I hear the Scientologists are big into their vitamins.)
The look of the store is less new-​agey and doesn’t have that comforting feeling like Nourish. This is just a pet peeve, but they could have chosen a more appropriate name for the store. I can never remember the name and I’m always telling my girlfriend, «Oh you know, that store, Hollister and Ballsack.» She’s like, «What store???» «You know, Hipster and Bollocks, the one with the vitamins.» I can always remember the name of Nourish, but never this place.
The last time I was here, I put down my purchases and walked out because the line at the register was so enormous. Sorry guys. I’m sure that it’s a nice store, I just have trouble buying stuff here. Get more help on the tills.

The ads for Holland and Barrett are up there with Reads of Nassau Street and Harvey Norman in terms of irritatingness. But otherwise I love this shop, and they do great deals from time to time (which I hear about on those annoying ads — not so annoying afer all…).
I am a bit of a supplement junkie — my bathroom cabinet is stuffed with multivitamins, cod liver oil, ginseng, echinacea, iron tablets, evening primrose oil, amogst other lotions and potions. H&B are much cheaper than the other health shops around here, as they stock their own brand of supplements.
The snacks are great too, everything for adding a little something to a boring muesli — dried cranberries, apricots, raisins and prunes, every type of nut imaginable, and seeds which are great for pepping up a salad. Try the dried apple rings — they look really unappetising but are deliciously sweet-​like without the badness.

There are three categories of customers in Holland and Barrett in my book: The hypochondriac stuffing omega 3, vitamin c and calcium tablets into their trolley, the crazy health nut with fists full of dried fruit and the enormous dude who has been pumping himself full of protein shakes leading to some poorly concealed moobs in his tank top.
But crazies and voluptuous male bosoms aside, Holland and Barrett is fairly decent if you’re looking for healthy goods. Their stuff is cheap and they have great offers on. I got a box of nettle tea for a quid recently. Tastes a bit like wee.

So I’m a bit of a snack fiend, and this makes this shop both my ally and my nemesis. I can’t walk in without being tempted by all the snacking options — dried fruit, nuts, corn snacks (which are amazing by the way), chocolate brazil nuts (dangerous!), seeds… the list is never-​ending. It’s also nicely cheap and always has deals which makes a trip even worse/​better as it means you get more for your money, which is good in some ways, but bad for the old waistline. I don’t care what they say… health food is not good for you (or at least copious amounts of it aren’t!).
It’s got a great vitamin and supplement section (although I don’t trust those things — why can’t you just get what you need from eating right?! Surely we’re made for that no?!), and a nice tea and drinks choice (Elderflower is just amazing!)
So if you’re into the whole protein diet thing, and know your stuff, it’s great. If you want to fool yourself into thinking that you’re being healthy, it’s the perfect excuse. And the staff will help you out with whatever questions you may have.
