Description

Specialties

The best of Irish craft and design, including jewellery, ceramics, woodwork, textiles, print, and homewares.

History

Established in 2008.

Launched as an on-line shop in November 2008, and after a successful pop-up shop in Powerscourt Townhouse in the run up to Christmas, we opened our shop on Bow Lane in March 2009. Since then the shop has expanded within this building, which also houses our own studio and that of 12 other artists and designers. In December 2011 we opened our second shop in the RHA gallery in Ely Place.

The Bow Lane shop and studios closed in March to relocate, and re-opened in 41 Drury Street on 10th of May 2013.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Clare Grennan and Laura Caffrey met while studying metalwork at the National College of Art and Design, and after a few years of selling work at markets around the city decided to take the plunge and open Irish Design Shop as a place to promote Irish designed and made products and the makers behind them.
