Overpriced, and not that good. Irritating clientele with far too much money and too high opinions of themselves. If you’re a hipster working in tech perhaps its for you to socialize, but the fare and the prices don’t justify the customer experience.

Came here for the lunch and I was the only one eating here. Perhaps this place is more suited to an evening visited. I ordered the veggie dog with sweet potato fries. I was a big fan of the fries but the dog itself was wayyy too breaddy for my liking. It was basically 70% bread and the rest veggie hot dog. I’ll definitely return to this place because I loved the decorative interior and I bet it has a fun atmosphere but I’d like to see them work on their hot dogs themselves a bit.

We headed here for my birthday a group of 11 of us the décor and music was really funky. The food should be great however the night we were there service was slow, food was cool when it arrived at the table. Everybody recieved the food in dribs and drabs which wasn’t ideal. The sides were tasty and definately recommend the gravy chips.

Not a fan of leaving negative reviews. You dedicate your life to something you’re passionate about only to have some shmuck like me tell you how to do your job. Having said that, anywhere that takes 45 minutes to cook a hotdog surely has a flawed business model. Came here with 6 work pals during lunch 2 weeks ago. There was 1 other table in the restaurant. 40 minutes after we order, 2 hot dogs come out(pig must’ve been putting up a serious fight). 10 minutes later, our sides come out. 50 mins goes by and everyone else is forced to get their food to go. Hot dog tasted fine, apparently the Sandwiches and salads did not. 13 quid for a hotdog and sweet potato fries is a tad steep but acceptable if the service is on point. Apologies were made upon our exit but for most of us, it was too little too late. If your chef needs to make an unexpected trip to the hospital, that’s unfortunate, but as the old phrase goes, if you can’t handle the heat, get out of the kitchen. If you can’t successfully cater for 10 people don’t open the restaurant, simple as. I’m not writing this to discourage people from going to porndog, it looks like they’ve done a fine job catering for other guests. Just a bit of advice to management: if you are expecting delays, please let us know so we can go somewhere else and return to porn dog another time. Even though I plan on giving it a 2nd shot, there were 6 other guests with me that never will.

Maybe I’m just not snobbing enough about my hipster hangouts or maybe I felt the hot dog had just a little to much on it to appreciate the actual hot dog. The place does have a really nice environment, the service was good, they had a nice selection of beers but it just didn’t do it for me.

I love this place for the atmosphere. There are great tunes and the décor is really nice! I thought the food was way over priced and the portions were small! The wine glasses were huge but the pour looked so small in comparison, and it would have been a lot easier to drink from a normal red wine glass. The food: there are lots of options which were great! Starters, mains, desserts, and sides! We got the nachos to start — pretty blegh. They say they have homemade chips(if I recall correctly) but they were not, and the minimal toppings didn’t cover all the chips. This was a decent size, but the flavour was so odd. It’s like they put cinnamon or cocoa powder on top and it wasn’t good. The sausage I had was topped with 2 small prawns, Aoili, a single roasted jalapeño, some cheese, and the bun it was served on was significantly larger than the insides. Again, just not what 15EUR should have got me — and that’s without a side or anything! I’d go back for cocktails, or if they brought their prices down.

I’ve no reason not to give this a five. Booked via Twitter for anytime between 5:30 and 6:00 on a Saturday evening. That’s how they put it in the book too :) It looks small when you walk in first and you can see into the kitchen but it’s deceptive. There’s plenty of seating over two floors. We were brought upstairs and had a choice of seats. We chose one of the low seats in front of the bar. I was fascinated by the jars of pickle fermenting away on the bar. The barman informed me that they are for shots! I wasn’t brave enough to try one. The music was mainly 70s disco. My mum played a lot of this when I was growing up so I loved it. Great tuneage. I found all staff to be very friendly and attentive but not over the top. I chose a white wine. A glass of Cave L’Ormarine Picquol. Olivia Pope on Scandal would be proud of the size of the glasses. Their pours are generous. Ordered the hummus plate to share for start. Warm Garlic brioche bread, pickled vegetables(purple cauliflower, carrot & strips of courgette(I think) and a lovely harissa spiked hummus dip. The brioche was really good as were the pickled vegetables. For my main course I chose the Voodoo dog. OMFG wow. Southern Panko Fried Chicken sausage with sriracha mustard, micro greens, American cheese, smoked bacon pork crackling and house fermented pickle vegetables. Now if you were left alone you could easily get the hunch on but had to be polite so mainly ate it with a knife and fork. Also ordered a size of sweet potato fries which are served with harissa yogurt, salted seeds and Parmesan cheese. Utterly delicious! I still had room for dessert so I chose the tempura fried candy bar bites. These are little bites of Mars, Snickers and Milky Way with just a little batter. The chocolate was a little messy. Little bites of heaven :) Was very excited to try here because well it’s about time Dublin has a top hotdog joint. I did not leave disappointed. Will definitely be back.

I had a great chat with one of the members of staff about how stupid the name was. She kind of brushed it aside though and started talking to me about how great their craft beers are, as if that sets it aside from anywhere else these days. The novelty alone isn’t worth eating here unless you’re some kind of pseudo psychopathic dipster(Dublin Hipster) I struggle to think what this place is actually good for. Business meetings? Dates? Family Gatherings? Porndog offends me with its lack of edge. Seriously, even Marilyn Manson would think this place is a joke. The hot dogs are pretty big but you’d have to spend about 14 euro for one and 20 euro if you want a beer with it. I’d honestly recommend walking around the corner to Eddie Rockets and spending half that on a burger and chips. At least in Eddie Rockets you can listen to Hall and Oates on repeat if you have enough 20 cents’.

Firstly don’t be deceived as you walk in as there is plenty of room upstairs. Service is pretty good but a few tweaks needed which will happen over the next few opening weeks of service The pickled veg that was served with the humus plate was amazing and it should feature on the menu. My hot diggity dog was OK and the chilli brisket was probably the best part. The sausage was OK but the casing was rather synthetic and rubbery. The guacamole was very good and I like to compare against my own recipe. The pale ale was very good and we’ll priced served in a growler. The white wine was served in gold fish bowls and servings that could possibly hold shamu from sea world. Music was I am told good but hey what do I know. Overall I was impressed and I had reservations before entering.

What a great experience that was. I’m kind of upset that it’s a little too close to where I live because I don’t think fried candy bars are good for you on weekly basis(they were amazing) and I’m afraid I’ll be back for them too often. I now get the name, the food looked amazing, smelled amazing and tasted amazing, it’s food porn! The name fits perfectly after you have tried their food, and do get a starter, main and dessert. it’s so worth it! They also have this great loyalty app where you can collect points and redeem them against discounts and free stuff. Can’t wait to try more stuff off the menu.

Went to Porndog with my girlfriend on Saturday, very cool restaurant with a great atmosphere. I had the Hot Diggity Dog with a side of Beef Drip Gravy Fries, food was excellent, one of the best hotdogs i’ve had! Cocktail menu is on fleek and the staff are so friendly!

4 stars for now… I just went here for a few drinks on a Friday evening. I didn’t realise that there is actually quite a bit of room in this restaurant both downstairs and upstairs.- they certainly have made the most of it. The menu is quite large but it did look very inviting– the main option being different type of hotdogs. We had some of the Porndog ale which you can have in a pint or a jug. The price was really reasonable as well. The staff were super nice and were always checking up on us but not invading our space. Excited to go back and try food! As for the name– Brilliant– no better way to get someones attention.
