The Art of Coffee

Lovely coffee especially the cappuccino with coconut or almond milk! Nice people. Every morning before I go to the office I go there for a coffee! For now the coconut cappuccino is off but I hope that they will bring it back to there assortment. Because when you’re lactose intolerant the best solution to drink a cappuccino is whit coconut.

The place is always packed on lunch break so we went to try it. As usual I asked for Machiatto and it met my expectations. The coffee was good and the atmosphere as well as it overlook GrandCanal. The service was good either. They have different selections of pastries and cakes but i haven’t tried it.

Great spot, with the added bonus of a great view of Grand Canal Dock. As you can guess from the name, they take their coffee very seriously but have dialled the pretension way back.
They have a rotating menu of speciality lattes for those who need their sweet tooth stimulated too.
An excellent place for your pre-​work coffee fix.

— a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating and the views of the water (family of swans swimming around!) are great
— my latte was solid
— the meatball sandwich was the only one they had there; wasn’t spectacular but better than Starbucks
— staff was friendly

This is a 3.5 star really.
Good lunch option, proper selection of (massive!) sandwiches, bagels, wraps and quiches for € 5,50.
Inside it’s a little soulless and the seating space can feel a little cramped, but on a sunny day (ehm…right…) you can sit on the lovely terrace overlooking the grand canal.
I’m not a big coffee drinker, but the coffee here is GOOD!

I have been back here for the first time after 18 months and it’s still as good as ever. The food choices have expanded and there are nice choice of savoury and sweet items on offer. I particularly love their caramel slice and it was better than I remember it ;-))
The coffee is as good as it was when I was last there and the service is also very good and friendly. This is one of my favourite coffee shops in Dublin.
I would drop in here everyday if I could :-)

Well located and in the summer it would be nice to sit outside. The cake slice of coconut and rasberry was very taste however the coffee was just OK I was expecting more guven the name.

They do exactly what it says on the tin: amazing coffee! But they don’t stop there. A variety of fresh sandwiches, wraps and quiches as well as two choices of soups (veggie and meaty) plus your obligatory sweet treats can be had here. A nice outside seating area next to the canal adds to the charm. Their lunch specials are great: any sandwich plus a small bowl of soup for just under 7Euro. Nice!

Lovely café with a great view and outdoor seating, making it perfect for a sunny day. I found the the coffee here to be really good and the prices are lower compared to other big coffee chains like Starbucks. I ordered a latte since I heard that the lattes here are particularly good, and it sure was! After moving to the area, I have become a frequent customer now and have tried their flat white and Americano as well, both of which were great! They also have a lot of options of milk too (full fat, low fat and skim, soya and coconut!), plus the all essential loyalty stamp card! The staff are also very friendly.
The café is small inside though with very limited seating, but the plentiful outdoor seating is there for when the weather allows it!
The food is limited to pre-​packed sandwiches, panini, soup, cakes, bars and quiche which I wasn’t too keen on, but the lower prices, good quality coffee, friendly staff and wide selection makes me highly recommend this café.

I like the location a lot. There’s lots of outdoor seating and you can enjoy a nice view of the grand canal. Coffee is decent, and there’s a great selection of bars and cakes; I really enjoyed my thick bakewell tart slice!

I always wanted go to this nice looking coffee place just around the grand canal docks. The place is nice with decent view of the docks and with a good outdoor seating on a not so windy and rainy day :)
We ordered Irish cream latte and an expresso. Both were pretty good. Compared to other coffee places around, the art of coffee is surely cheap. 3 euro for tall coffee and 1.7 euro for expresso is a bargain. The sandwich selection is limited but looks decent. I am taking one point because the croissant we ordered was below average but coffee is what they serve the best! A good place for a good coffee!

I’ve drank coffee all over these here parts and I’ve yet to find better than the stuff in the Art of Coffee. It’s just spot on, nice and bitter, the kind you feel bad putting sugar in because you’re spoiling the flavour. And as an added bonus they charge realistic prices. There’s some coffee shops not a million miles from there that have gotten high on their own caffeine, believing that € 3 is a sane price for a cup of coffee. Go back to the noughties! Food wise with the A of C it’s the same story: tasty, thoughtful sandwiches (as in thought has been put into them, not that they’re sentient) at affordable prices. Plus tasty nibbles that look like they were baked in someone’s kitchen rather than an industrial estate. Get’s busy as hell at lunchtime but the service is still quick & friendly. The room isn’t amazing but I’m not docking a star as I always get takeout. In summary, a class act.

They grind decaf to order! Yup that’s an extra star straight away.
Considering how close I live to it, I’m surprised I don’t go in htere more often, but then again I suppose they don’t stay open as late as some of the others in the area.
This is a perfect spot when the weather is condusive to sitting outside, they ahve a good seating area on the dock, the last time I was there I enjoyed watching kids jumping in from the roof of the Waterways Ireland Visitor Centre. Great coffe and a show, what can beat that.
The staff was (only 1 on) friendly and chatty and actually appeared to be enthusiastic about coffee.
Quibles: already mentioned, is that it does not stay open late enought for me to go there more and it is tiny inside so not so great when the sun isn’t shining.

This is a great spot. I decided to try this place when I read that they won 1^st and 2^nd place in the Irish Latte Art Competition, so I brought a friend along to try some of these award-​winning lattes for ourselves. They did not disappoint.
We tried a latte, a ristretto, and a caramel latte– each was very enjoyable and scored highly between us. The staff were very friendly, the place itself is in a beautiful location overlooking the dock, and the mood of the café was complimented by the music playing.
The fifth star would have been retained if the café was perhaps a bit more spacious inside. However, it is an excellent go-​to spot if you want a one-​on-​one coffee with a friend. Not the best spot for a date, but perfect for a laid back chat with a friend.

Really great coffee spot and gets the nod for me ahead of their sister shop just because of the staff. They are always really friendly and once you go there a few times then they remember your regular orders. Great coffee, good price, friendly staff. Can get a little crazy first thing in the morning with the work crowd, but the fact people are prepared to line up and wait when there are plenty of quieter coffee shops says it all.

The only place I know in the city where you can sit down, order a nice coffee and watch a swan swim by.
Located at the base of the Alto Vetro building in Grand Canal Dock, this is a very comfy café that offers excellent service, along with coffee, tea, sandwiches, pastries and deserts.
It has a lovely view over looking the peaceful water of the dock, which only adds to the relaxing atmosphere in the café. The staff are both friendly and professional and seem to have a genuine friendship with some of the regulars.
The prices are very competitive and it also has free WIFI which is fast and unlimited.
With both indoor and outdoor seating, this is a place that has never left me disappointed.

With a bit of (rare) sunshine, this café is a very nice spot to enjoy a coffee and a sandwich. It is shielded from the Ringsend road traffic and has a nice sun trap area that is perfect for some morning/​afternoon sunshine.
The coffee is decent also, one of the best in the area, though 3fE might have something to say about top spot :) — I have not had a chance to try the food yet, but I’ll be back :)

I love this place!
They serve great coffee (and other hot drinks) and the staff are so nice and friendly. They have delicios sandwiches too and pastries and scones for a morning treat.
I usually go for an Americano which is € 2.30 to takeaway and not bad value compared to other coffee shops in the area.
What a fantastic location — you can sit outside by the canal on a nice day.
Don’t forget to pick up a loyalty card, for every ten hot drinks you buy, you get one free!
I cannot wait to try out their new location on Harcourt Strreet.

The Art of Coffee sits on the ground floor of the big glass tower right near the Quays. What drags me there is the location but yes, they also make good coffee!
The menu is nothing out of the ordinary but the friendly staff really takes their time to produce a fine, «artsy» coffee. I’d prefer a cup here over the other place across the street. Especially on a sunny day the outside seating area is a big plus.
Unfortunately, the food falls behind a little. On different days, I ordered two different pastries but they were both a bit dry and tasteless. However, the coffee is what counts and there’s no complaint in that department.

A small cosy coffee shop, with seriously good coffee, friendly staff and nicely situated on the edge of the canal.
You can get porridge in the morning, a generous sandwich for lunch, and cakes and biscuits as a treat!
latte and banana bread comes to about 5 euro and loyatly cards are available
