5 stars for the food! Oh wowsers there was nothing I could fault! I had the prawn scampi for starters and lets just say they were hoovered down in seconds! Absolutely delish! Then for main I had me the fillet steak medium and basically there are no words! It was hands down one of the nicest steaks I have had and I love me some steak! It was a huge fillet so nothing scabby, the pepper sauce was to die for and the onion rings wel they were like little crispy rings sent from heaven! I have nothing bad to report from the food side of things but the owner slash waiters are painful! One is Irish and the other is French! Unless your a regular they don’t seem to pay much attention to you! Although my parents have ate here a number of times obviously only popping in ¾ a year isn’t regular enough for these two! People skills are not best practiced here! Will I come back? YES because the food is amazing!

If I was just rating this eatery on the food 5 stars. The service? Mmm well I don’t know whether to peg it as a difference in culture? But I’m always taken aback by the abrupt way the owner/server speak to his patrons. But I have seen him being overly friendly to customer who must be his regulars… So maybe he just doesn’t like me?! Anyhow I digress. The service put me off but the food… Oh my cheese the food is impeccable. We had the mussels to start with which is simply delish. It has the French touch of a simple and fresh tasting broth with perfectly cooked mussels. The parsley and onions are still al dente which added texture and a taste of fresh you can only get from, well, fresh ingredients. Then I ordered the monkfish Thai curry in their specials board to split with my partner. I really have to salute them for splitting the portions ahead of time for us which was a lovely touch. So instead of having to reach over and share on one plate they split the one portion into 2… I was really impressed with this gesture. The curry had a lovely kick but didn’t have the lasting burn of something being too overspiced. This leads to no runny noses and enjoying the superb curry with the perfectly cooked monkfish. I would love to come back but I hope they put the pretentious ‘rude somewhere else as I don’t like the feeling of being looked down upon. After all, I might not be a big spender but I’m still spending my hard earned money to eat here! A smile and gratitude would be nice! If you’re ever in the area I highly recommend visiting for a meal.

This restaurant is such a lovely place! The good is excellent. We shared the seafood platter to start. I must say all was great but the mussels were superb! The surf and turf was very tender and cooked perfectly. The recommended Sauvignon Blanc was a great accompaniment. We couldn’t pass up the crème brûlée for dessert. Everything was great and service was amazing!

Great place to eat; the atmosphere is wonderful, the place is small and quaint. Food is prepared to order and is fresh and delicious. A definite must, if you are in the area. Sit outside on a nice evening and enjoy the view. Service is fantastic!

Great fish for real fish lovers, with the specials on the board well worth a look. Fantastic wine selection and a lovely ambiance in this cosy restuarant. Service is top notch too. Not in the centre of Malahide and so often overlooked — not by those in the know however and you will definitely need to book.

Seabank is a great place to spend a fun and relaxing evening. A five-minute walk from the center of Malahide and just past the Grand Hotel, the restaurant looks out on the water and even has a few outside tables. Don’t bother looking at the menu. Focus instead on the specials chalkboard for some excellent seafood dishes. We started with scallops sitting atop a chorizo purée. The scallops were nicely done, with their flavor left intact by the subtle purée. The mussels were cooked with scallions in a tangy citrus wine sauce and made for an excellent starter. A couple of us tried the monkfish, cooked to perfection and served above a crab and veggie risotto. Monkfish does not have a strong taste, so it was the crab that carried the load. The risotto was quite good, rounding out a nice variety of textures and flavors, Nothing on the dessert menu caught my eye, so I tried the cheese board — and should have skipped that too. The selection was served with saltines, which really wrecked whatever hope the passable cheese selection might have had. The place is bustling with people and conversation, which made for a nice atmosphere. The staff is friendly and helpful, if a bit overwhelmed by the pace. We had to ask for almost everything twice, although it all came with a smile. I can easily recommend a nice meal and enjoyable time at the Seabank. Definitely call ahead to book a table.
