My favourite pub in Maynooth. For a college town, this place seems to hit that sweet spot of student watering hole /proper Irish pub. The atmosphere is pretty lively but it doesn’t get too messy either. Good selection of beers with a rotating cast of craft brews too. Oh, and the pub grub isn’t too bad either. All in all, a really good pub.

My favourite pub in Maynooth. Located on the main street it’s looks better on the inside than the outside. Always has a good atmosphere with a nice mix of students to the obligatory old men at the bar. Food is simple pub grub at it’s best and budget friendly too with a lot of meals around the tenner mark. If you fancy splashing out the steaks are supposed to be well worth it.

This is a nice little pub in Maynooth. Can’t comment on the food as we arrived about 5 minutes too late to order, but not to worry, being a great little student town we got Aberakebabra not 5 minutes up the road! Grand atmosphere & never empty, even mid week.

Pretty busy pub while football is on. Food is awesome, desserts are delicious, service is great. Good place to relax, to have a good food and a cold beer.

Had a meal here the other night. Sunday night and barely a table to be found but we finally found one. My wife had the curry chicken, I had the fish stew both delicious. The crispy potato skins were good, though only 2 on a plate will leave you wanting more fish and chips were also good. service staff was attentive and friendly. Highly recommended

Nice pub in the centre of Maynooth. Décor is new Irish bar in a box(like so many nowadays) but is tastefully done. Clean warm and spacious. Was in for Sunday lunch here and ordered the Sirloin Steak(€ 15 good value) and was looking forward to it but somebody made a mistake with the menu. Not the friendly waitresses fault and I ordered the Turkey and ham instead(I felt it was far enough past Christmas to start enjoying this dish again). Food arrived in good time and I had ordered no veg but half chips/half potatoes. Somebody is on serious portion control here. Not that there wasn’t enough but I may be used to a bit more being piled on my plate. One roasty and one scoop of mash and a side plate not over flowing with chip. My only other minor issue was another one or two more fluid oz of gravy wouldn’t have gone to waste. Food was very tasty and I polished the lot(portion size was probably spot on). Followed it up with the very tasty chocolate fudge cake with ice cream. Toilets down the stairs. TV’s on around the place with sport of the day. All in all no real complaints if I’m being honest. Staff exceptionally friendly and I’ll be back.

If you are looking for the best food at reasonable rates, plus a comfortable atmosphere and top notch friendly staff in Maynooth, then O’Neills is the place to find it all. A family run business you are sure to feel at home from the moment you walk through the door. The menu is excellent, I’ve never ordered anything that I wasn’t thoroughly pleased with in taste and portion. Especially the desserts, I have to say the chocolate fudge cake is not to be missed! The staff are always pleasant, and courteous and they all seem to really get along with each other which is a huge part of the relaxed and engaging atmosphere in the pub. Also, the disco bar at the weekends is usually pretty good, but my favorite nights are when they have live music on in the lounge. Great Guinness and good music make for the perfect night out.
