Really cozy hole in the wall café and library. Wonderful staff and great tea selection. I highly recommend study abroad students make this a favorite hang out.

To me this place was heaven when i stayed in Firenze. I COULDCHARGEMYPHONE while sipping tea and having a biscotti! plus I could rest during the humid summer days. The attention is very personal and also if you are a reader this little spot has interesting magazines and books to browse. the music was great too

I was excited to try this place based on Unilocal reviews but I was hugely disappointed. First of all, we got ripped off. We bought two drinks and I was told I owed 3.00 Euros but I opted to keep my bill open. When it was time to pay the bill, knowing that I owed only 3.00 Euros, I handed the barista 4.00 Euros in two 2.00 Euro coins. She gave me no change back. I told her that she had told me it was 3.00 Euros but she told me that she was charging me for the WiFi, which by the way, the door has a big sign that says, «Free WiFi,»(see posted picture). It’s not even about the money, it’s about the principle. You’re better off going to Libreria Brack, which is way better and even has AC and don’t charge for the awesome WiFi connection they offer. They also serve good food. Or go to Cuculia Ristorante Libreria, which is a super nice and pleasant place. They also serve food at certain times but stay open all day until late. And both of these places have better prices, better atmosphere, better service and they’re honest. They’re also great places to work at or just linger and read. Second of all, it’s not a great space. It’s divided into three small sections. I don’t know what other reviewers mean when they claim comfortable seats. The seats are very uncomfortable. They’re foldable high, narrow and flimsy stools. And the so called couches are just cushions sitting on a firm surface with vertical backs and no way to lean back comfortably. These are near the smelly bathroom.

Meykadeh gets all 5 stars for simply being itself. That and the fact that it’s hard to come by good tea in Italy. I tried the ‘Turn Off’ tea, iced with honey, and it was excruciatingly refreshing(it was 91 °F that day). Mel had the roobios, hot with honey and soy milk. It’s also hard to come by a place that isn’t crowded, that has multiple lounge-y couches, free WiFi AND power outlets, diverse art, and a library with a few books in English. Well, there you have it!

It’s such a cute café’ /library. Not only is the coffee great, I am in love with their chocolate chip cookies. This is a great place to come and relax with friends or read a book. They have many English language books to choose from as well as travel books. The atmosphere is very modern artsy. However they DO charge table service, a little extra if you sit down at a table or couch AND the biscotti are a little expensive .80 cents a cookie… yikes! Other than that I love coming here, in particularly because it is so close to where I live and Free Wifi … yay!

This girl was on the hunt for a place to serve chai tea latte in florence and never seemed to come across this holy grail of tea drinks! Besides mago merlino who’s opening hours resembles an Italian banks, I was in serious need of an affordable replacement. This is a bookstore/café located on a tiny street — via dei pepi close to piazza santa croce. From the moment you enter, you already feel like a hipster paradise with the colorful bottle decorations, «cold» chairs and books at every angle. They get their tea from tealicious and even have the same«smell your tea» dry erase board which is super awesome, you can smell and choose what you want them to make. Of course I had a soy chai latte and tommaso went for the hot chocolate. Both were awesome and exactly what we needed after a long five kilometer walk. They also have free wifi which is great considering you can forget about any sort of phone signal when you walk in the door. They also serve breakfast and host various events. Oh, and they are open on SUNDAY which we all know in Florence is as rare as an honest taxi driver! I will surely be back again many many many times.
